MAN OF MAGNITUDE
Loyalty, leadership, service, and faith
are key words in describing Supt. Don Bowen, to whom the editors dedicate the
fifty-second volume of the Corsican. He is always loyal to those
institutions and causes which promote the welfare of children and youth.
Wherever he leads with characteristic vigor, he also serves with humility.
He is faithful to the highest ideals and deepest concerns of home, school,
church, and community.
Youthful and forceful enthusiasm,
however, lends a charm to Mr. Bowen's personality. As a constant Tiger booster,
he displays a never-failing interest in Corsicana High School students and their
activities. Encouraging others to stand behind school-related
organizations and projects, this administrator speaks to and about CHS Tigers
with a warmth of feeling which is true measure of his sincerity.
Few people have such stature. This
man always reaches for the highest and demands the best of himself and others.
Because of his abilities, in a remarkable four years he has advanced from the
office of elementary school administrator to that of superintendent of Corsicana
Public Schools. Through 1965-66,MrBoween served as principal of Corsicana
High School; then he assumed his present duties. In the summer months of 1967,
he joined with other dedicated workers to campaign successfully for bonds to
build a new high school. This immensely talented man gives himself
wholeheartedly to everything he undertakes. Supt. Don Bowen
exemplifies the highest human virtues and a loving spirit to the youth of
Corsicana High School. |
