Guy Wesley Froman

Guy Wesley Froman, 49, died Friday, Oct. 21, 2005 at a Fort Worth hospital.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Thompson’s Harveson & Cole Funeral Home in Fort Worth.
Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Peoria Indian Cemetery, Miami, Okla.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Buddy Harper, Mario Jimenez, Jeremy Gnoza, Zach Gnoza, Hunter Gnoza, Robert Starr and Frank Gnoza.
Memorials may be made to The American Heart Association or a charity of the donor’s choice.
Mr. Froman was born July 8, 1956 in Tulsa, Okla. He graduated from Corsicana High School and attended Navarro College and Sam Houston University.
Guy worked with Tandy Leather for many years and for the last eight years in the shipping department of Pier One. He was also very active in numerous civic programs in Granbury.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Shirley Schenk.
Survivors include his son, William Froman of Fort Worth; parents, Bill and Linda Froman of Wichita Falls; sisters, Gretchen Gnoza of Red Oak, Lea Starr of Highland Village; nephews, Jeremy, Zach and Hunter Gnoza; and nieces, Hannah Gnoza, Lauren and Stephanie Starr.

Clyde T. Roberts, 85, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at Health Care and Rehab of Corsicana.
Quiet hour will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Monday at Scott Funeral Home.
Services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church, with Bishop K. D. Davis officiating. Interment will follow at Chatfield Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Therliece Roberts, David Roberts, Odie Roberts, Henry B. Roberts, Walter Wilson, Claude Roberts, Larry Roberts, Gary Roberts and George Kitchen. Honorary pallbearers will be Roy Miller, Clinton Davis, Therkenddrick Roberts, Gary Roberts Jr., Jeffrey J. Roberts, Howard Miller, Cedric Roberts, Michael Wilson, Randy Johnson and Stephen Craig.
Mr. Roberts was born Sept. 1, 1920, in Cheneyboro. He was a member of Sixth Avenue Baptist Church where he served as Sunday school superintendent, teacher and deacon. He was a former member of St. James Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 52 years, Christine Roberts; two sons, Walter E. Roberts and a still born; four brothers, Henry Roberts, Flonzell Roberts, Ben Roberts and James Jessie; and two sisters, May Roberts and Charlotte Roberts.
Survivors include seven daughters, Ernestine Miller of Houston, Mattie Davis and Ester Roberts of Garland, Lula Wilson (Walter/Blue) of Dallas, Frances Kitchen (George) of Corsicana, Marine Johnson (Michael) of Seattle, Wash., and Susan Crain of Longview; seven sons, Therliece (Gloria), Larry (Tonis), Gary (Pam), and Henry (Pam), all of Dallas, Claude (Suzette) of Corsicana, David (Cynthia) of Kerens and Odie (Virene) of Fort Worth; one brother, William Earl Roberts of San Francisco, Calif.; four sisters, Annie Laura Fortune, Bertha Johnson and Sarah Roberts, all of Corsicana, and Eva Miller of Dallas; two brothers-in-law, Bennie Fortune of Corsicana and Edward King of Corpus Christi; two sisters-in-law, Maurine Brown of Corsicana and Artlee Roberts of Dallas; 34 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of other relatives.

R. L. Thigpin

Mr. R.L. Thigpin died on October 23, 2005 in Corsicana, Texas at the age of 97 years. Mr. R.L. Thigpin was born in Louisiana on March 7, 1908. He grew up and finished high school in Canadian, Texas. He graduated from Texas A&M University with a Civil Engineering degree. Mr. & Mrs. Thigpin met in 1935 in Nacogdoches, where she was teaching music. He was beginning his position with the U.S. Soil Conservation Service when he was called to duty in the U.S. Army, serving as a Captain during WW II. After the war he resumed his position with the soil conservation service. That position began in Colorado City and later brought him to Corsicana. His engineering duties revolved around river basin and flood prevention. Mr. Thigpin has actively practiced this profession for 42 years. At the age of 94, he was one of the state’s most noted, and oldest public surveyors, who also served three terms as an elected Navarro County Surveyor. He is most proud of the water retention dam on the Hugh Drane property which has prevented all the City of Corsicana from flooding. The Thigpins have been married 69 years. They had two sons, James, who proceeded them in death and Robert, who lives in Corsicana. Mr. Thigpin served as an Elder for the Westminster Presbyterian Church in Corsicana and says his longevity secret is “exercise and eating right. And I don’t drink or smoke.” He surveyed his last track at age 92. He actively practiced the profession for 42 years. He is best know for his surveying of farms and ranches, residential subdivisions, and city lots. When asked how many miles he had walked in his 43 years of surveying. “Plenty!” he replied with a grin. He was a member of Westminster Presbyterian Church in Corsicana and graduated from Texas A.& M. University in 1933. Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2005, at Corley Funeral Home from 5:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Services will be Tuesday, October 25, 2005, at Westminster Presbyterian Church at 2:00 P.M. with Dr. Robert M. Young officiating. Burial will follow in Resthaven Memorial Park in Corsican, Texas. Walter J. "Joe" Chambless passed away at his residence in Fairfield, Texas on October 24, 2005.
Joe served in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He is survived by his Son & Daughter-in-Law James Mason & Debbie Chambless of Albuquerque, New Mexico. Son & Daughter-in-Law, Charles Thomas & Janet Bibbs of San Antonio, Texas. Dr. James Douglas "Jim" Curington

Lifelong Corsicana resident and local historian, James "Jim" Douglas Curington, 83, died Sunday, Oct. 23, 2005, at Navarro Regional Hospital. He departed this life surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 3 p.m. Wednesday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel. Interment will follow at Prairie Point Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Trey Curington, Chris Curington, Joshua French, David Roberts, Jay Curington, Jimmy Prather, John Roberts and Darrell Red. Honorary pallbearers will be Maco Stewart, Mark Culwell, Johnny Thompson, Ron Farmer, Jack Tatum, Chip Curington, David Curington and Mike Kaster.
Jim is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred Tyner Curington; one son, James Douglas Curington Jr. and wife Rita of Athens; daughter, Betty Prather and husband Jimmy of Mexia; daughter, Dyce Roberts and husband John of Dallas; brother, Paul Curington of Corsicana; sister, Mary Ann Slimp of Irving; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Philip Lee Curington; one brother, C.O. Curington Jr.; and parents, Calvin Overton Curington Sr. and Annie Irene Williams.
Jim was born Nov. 15, 1921, in Corsicana and was raised in Corsicana. He dearly loved his hometown and often said, "Corsicana was a wonderful place to grow up." He often provided historical information to his good friend Pete Samuels for his newspaper articles.
Dr. Curington practiced as a chiropractor in Navarro County for over 50 years. In July 1996, the Texas Chiropractic College presented him a Golden Award for ?over 50 years of dedicated service to humanity in the practice of chiropractic.?
He served as a deacon of the Church of Christ at the North Beaton congregation. His primary ministry was benevolence.
Dr. Curington served on the Corsicana Independent School District school board from 1973 to 1979. He was president of the Band Parents Association during this time. He spent many years working in Little League baseball with Stuart Beebe promoting baseball for Corsicana youth.
During World War II, Jim served in the 326th Army Air Force Band at Randolph Field in San Antonio and the 325th Army Air Force Band in Childress. Music remained an important part of his life. He was recently contacted by the Air Force Band of the West from Lackland Air Force Base for historical information.

Sylvester Bradley Jr., 58, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Oct. 20, 2005, at his residence.
Wake service will be at 7 p.m. today at Ross and Johnson Mortuary Chapel.
Funeral service will 1 p.m. Wednesday at Greater Renfro Memorial Church of God in Christ with Pastor Donne Watson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park.

Mr. Bradley was born March 3, 1947, in Corsicana.

Lily Forehand Ivy, 95, of Barry and formerly of Fairfield, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at her residence.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield.
Services will be 3 p.m. Saturday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel in Fairfield with Dr. James Reid officiating. Interment will follow at Fairfield Cemetery.
Mrs. Ivy was born Sept. 27, 1910, in Centerville to Thomas Aby Forehand and Evelyn Jane Walker Forehand. She attended schools in Centerville, Madisonville and Southwest Texas State College in San Marcos. She lived her 49 years of married life in Fairfield and Barry. The last 20 years of her life, she continued to manage the Kaliko Ranch in Barry with her children. She was a loving mother and grandmother who cherished her family.
She was preceded in death by her son, John Bruce Ivy; parents; sisters, Aby Ray Burleson, Cecil Wilson, Madie Floyd and Mary Forehand; and the father of her children, Woodrow Ivy.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Madie Ivy Head and John Head III of New York City, N.Y., and Lettie Jane Ivy Cook and Hal Cook of Barry; daughter-in-law, Joanna Smyly Ivy of Lake Jackson; grandchildren, David Ivy of Boulder, Colo., Jeff Ivy of Denton, John Head IV and Charles Head of New York City, N.Y., and Boston, Mass., Andy Cook and wife Lori of Mineola and Lisa Cook Sem and husband Michael of Austin; three great-grandchildren, Annalee Cook and Ruby and Lyra Sem; and numerous nieces, nephews and a special friend, Velma McGraw.

Mr. Taylor was born April 21, 1920, in Turnersville to Ernest Taylor and Gertrude Dollins Taylor. He was a supervisor for Phillips Oil for many years. He served in World War II.
Survivors include his son, Jerry Taylor of Arlington; daughter, Marilyn Greer of Corsicana; two grandchildren, Amanda Pinson of Mansfield and Dustin Greer of Corsicana; one great-grandchild, Austin Mansfield; and brother, John Taylor of Garland.

Odessa Bill Taylor, 85, of Corsicana, a supervisor for Phillips Oil, died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2005, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana.
Services were held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home Chapel in Corsicana. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. today at Sunset Memorial Gardens. Arrangements are by Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home of Corsicana.
He was born in Turnersville. He served in World War II.

Dewey Pat Scruugs, resident of Corsicana, Texas, passed away Monday October 24, 2005 at Heritage Oaks West at the age of 88 years. Mr. Scruugs was born on March 24, 1917 in Dawson, Texas to Paul and Hester Wood Scruggs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters: Lucille Johnson, Pauline Slater, and Lorene Summers, brothers: Matt Scruggs and Groce Scruggs.

Roy Mack English, 87, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Oct. 26, 2005, in Corsicana.
Services will be 1 p.m. today at Sixth Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. K.D. Davis and the Rev. Larry Polk, pastor of Second Mission Baptist Church, officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Robert Washington, Gregory Stovall, Harold Wilson, Emmanuel Wilson, Danny Harris and Tinnis Manning. Honorary pallbearers will be Chester Jones, James Borkchum, Charles Yarbrough, Nathaniel Walton, Woodrow English, Lee Alvin English and James Mack English.
Mr. English was born Dec. 20, 1917, in Fairfield. He served as a deacon at Second Mission Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Margie Lee Grayson English of Corsicana; sister, Pauline Huckaby of Corsicana; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Doris (Bond) Brittain, 85, of Corsicana passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 at Heritage Oaks West.

Doris Bratcher, 81, of Groesbeck passed away Friday, Oct. 28, 2005 in Mexia.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. today at the Dawson Cemetery with Brother Richard Williams officiating.
Doris was born Sept. 30, 1924 in Dawson. She was the great-great granddaughter of Britton Dawson, a Texas Revolution veteran, Battle of San Jacinto participant and early settler in Navarro County, for whom the town of Dawson is named. She was a bookkeeper after graduating from Dawson High School for Montgomery Ward in Fort Worth.
She farmed along side her husband, G. W. Bratcher, after they were married on June 22, 1946 and then worked 33 years at Texas Miller Products in Corsicana before retiring. Doris moved to Groesbeck in 1991 following the death of her husband. An avid reader and puzzle worker, she was a self-educated, well-rounded person who never met a stranger and whom you knew exactly where she stood.
Doris was preceded in death by her husband, G.W. Bratcher; mother, Mary Emma Wells; and step-father, James Freeland Wells.
Survivors include her son, Charles Bratcher and wife Carolyn, who was like a daughter, of Groesbeck; granddaughter Natalie Bratcher, her hope for the future, of Dallas; sister-in-law Sue Adams of Mexia; and numerous nieces, nephews, many friends, her special friend and caretaker Rose Pelton, and her beloved feline friend, Prissy.

John Thomas Ayers Jr., Dr.

John Thomas Ayers Jr. died Thursday evening, Oct. 27, 2005, in Corsicana at the age of 82. A service to praise our God and remember His servant Brother Ayers will be held at 3 p.m. today in the sanctuary of First Baptist Church with the Rev. B.F. Risinger officiating. It will be preceded by a private graveside service.
Brother Ayers was born to John Thomas and Curtie Boucher Ayers Feb. 17, 1923, in Jayton. After graduation from Baylor University and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, he married Ruth Elizabeth Harris on Aug. 28, 1946. He pastored churches in Mound, Hubbard, Goldthwaite, Gatesville and Brownwood before moving to Corsicana in 1969 to serve as the director of missions for the Central Texas Baptist Area.
Brother Ayers is survived by two daughters, Annette Gibson of Georgetown and Judy Simpson and husband Rick of Hammond, La.; and three grandchildren, David L. Gibson Jr. and wife Jordan of Hewitt, John T. Gibson of Waco and Saralynn Simpson of Hammond, La. He is also survived by two sisters, Ann and husband H. Joe Schwartz of Ropesville and Deloris Carey of Lubbock; three brothers, Willard Ayers and wife Jean of Wolfforth, Jack Ayers and wife Vonn of Levelland and Ronnie Ayers and wife Sandra of Wolfforth. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a sister, Katherine Evans, and a sister-in-law, Betty Teaff Ayers, of Wolfforth.
J. T. Ayers retired in the mid-’80s for health reasons. He continued to teach the Bible every Sunday morning to his Sunday school class at First Baptist Church until the spring of 2003. He was a loving husband until his wife died in July 2003. He was a loving father and grandfather until his death.

Edna Lee Arnett, 89, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, in Corsicana.

Services were 10 a.m. today at Corley Funeral Chapel with Brother Bill Honea and Dr. Gary W. Johnson officiating. Interment followed at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Richard Arnett, James Neal Jr., Jeff Arnett, Glen Fuller, Wayne Barnett and David Arnett.

Mrs. Arnett was born April 30, 1916, in Corsicana. She was a beautiful mother. She attended Calvary Worship Center where she accepted the Lord as her Savior. She was a life partner with her husband, J.T. Arnett. They owned and operated Arnett Trucking Company for 43 years, and also worked together on the family farm.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J. T. Arnett; son, Charles Arnett; son and daughter-in-law, Jessie and Peggy Arnett; infant son, Tommy Arnett; infant daughter, Nancy Arnett; brothers, Drew “Son” Smith and Harmon “Mickey” Smith; and sister, Emmaline Buchanan.

Funeral services for R. C. “Bob” Staggs, 83, of Tool were 1 p.m. Monday, Oct. 31 at Tomlinson Funeral Home Chapel in Seven Points. Burial followed at Dresden Cemetery near Blooming Grove. Bob was born Oct. 4, 1922, in Blooming Grove and ended his old life to start a new one Oct. 29, 2005. He served his country during World War II in the United States Navy.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 38 years, Jeannine Staggs of Tool; daughter, Pam Lilley and husband Scott of Tool; son, Randall Staggs and wife Melissa of Tool; son, Larry Forbes and wife Vicki of Killeen; son, Tony Forbes and wife Debby of Tool; daughter, Lisa Forbes of Greenville; and his precious grandchildren, Courtney Staggs, Brandon Staggs, Meagan Lilley, Ashley Lilley, Riana Lilley, Michael Forbes, Jeannine Baham, Angie Baham, Larry Dale Forbes Jr., Casey Forbes, Toni Lynn Guimbellot, Heidi Forbes, Bryce Forbes, Jeremy Forbes and Tyler Forbes. Lois Ellen Stell Reynolds, 83, died Sunday, Oct. 30, 2005, at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, at First Baptist Church in Hamlin with the Rev. Donny Harbers officiating. Burial will be at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today at Adams Funeral Home in Hamlin.

Mrs. Reynolds was born Jan. 15, 1922, in Lipan to Lucretia and Dennis Wiley Stell. She graduated from Hamlin High School and North Texas State Teachers College (now The University of North Texas). After graduation from college, she taught home economics at Hamlin High School for one year. She wanted to pursue a medical profession and moved to San Antonio to complete training as a registered medical technologist. As an employee of Hamlin Hospital for many years, she built a solid reputation as a caring and professional member of the medical staff. She married Clifford R. Reynolds Jr., her high school sweetheart and the love of her life, on Aug. 5, 1946. He preceded her in death in 1983. Lois Ellen was known for her dry wit, quick smile, and her love for her family. Mrs. Reynolds was a longtime member of First Baptist Church of Hamlin, the American Medical Technologists’ Association and Beta Sigma Phi.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Cliff Reynolds Jr.; and her brother and sister-in-law, Lovel D. and Ella Stell.

Survivors include her twin daughters, Marolyn Weaver of Hamlin and Carolyn Batchelor of Corsicana, and their husbands, O.H. Weaver Jr. and Pat Batchelor; grandchildren, Lt. Casey Batchelor and Tiffany of Washington, D.C., Kelly and Seth Brown of Corsicana and John R. Weaver and Jennifer of Richardson; nieces, Kathleen Morris and Sharon Wilson; and a nephew, Dennis A. Mr. Duran Etheredge Summerall, of Corsicana, passed away November 1, 2005 at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. on Friday Nov. 4, 2005 at Corley Funeral Home with Bro. Bill Honea officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.
Mr. Summerall was born June 17, 1918 to Fred and Lucy Summerall in Tool, Texas. A lifetime resident of Corsicana, he was a veteran of World War Two, serving in the 144th Field Artillery of the 36th Division. He was retired from Whiteselle Brick and Lumber Company where he was the brick plant supervisor. He loved working in his yard and refused to give up the mowing task to anyone.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Summerall, parents Fred & Lucy Summerall, and his brother J.F. Summerall.

Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Dan and Patti Summerall of Austin; stepson Bob Rascoe of Emory; stepdaughters Janie Pollard and Pat Barr of Midland; grandchildren Jennifer Summerall of Austin and Dr. Sarah Summerall of Irving; sister-in-law Florene Summerall of Athens; numerous nieces and nephews and many friends.

Mr. Summerall and his brother J.F. joined the service together. He landed with the 36th at Salerno, Italy after training in Africa. He was a proud member of the “T” patchers and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.

The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff of Heritage Oaks Retirement Village and to the staff of Cedar Creek Hospice. Donations may be made to Cedar Creek Hospice.

Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Powell with the Rev. Charles Douglas officiating. Interment will follow at Elm Flat Cemetery in Powell.

Pallbearers will be Keith Pittman, Donnie Renfro, Lamont Richards, Steve Dunn, Robert White and Earl Evans. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the National Guard.

Mr. White was born April 14, 1945, in Powell. He was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church in Powell. He was a graduate of Kerens High School and Navarro College. He was a member of the National Guard and VFW Post 4621.

Jay Hugh “Guy” Middleton, 63, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, in Corsicana.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Capps Memorial Chapel in Fairfield.

Graveside services will be 2 p.m. Friday at Day Cemetery with Brother Gary Johnson officiating.

Pallbearers will be Jimmy Buckner Jr., James Ashley, Clark Sumrall, Jerry Davis, Johnny Remonte, Samuel Garner III, Johnathan Love, Zackey Mann and Sammuel Patrick.

Mr. Middleton was born Tuesday, Jan. 20, 1942, in Purdon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Carrie Middleton; and brothers, Roy Wayne Middleton and Talbert Harvey Middleton.

Survivors include his wife, Oleta Buckner Middleton of Corsicana; sons, Gary Middleton, Don Middleton and Billy Middleton, all of Corsicana, and Clark Sumrall; daughters, Melissa Hunt and husband Jesse of Dawson, and Ellen Ashley and husband James and Judy Middleton, all of Corsicana, and Louise Barbuch; brother, Gene Middleton and wife Betty of Fairfield; sisters, Katie Gunter and husband J.C. of Tyler, Joann Putman of Fort Worth and Aline Bogden of Dallas; and seven grandchildren.

Services will be held tomorrow at 2 p.m. at Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Williams officiating. Interment will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Prickett was a plumber by trade and a U.S. military veteran.

Joe Edward Giles, 40, of Corsicana passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2005 at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Visitation will be Today from 6 to 8 p.m. at Corley Funeral home in Corsicana.

Joe was born July 3, 1965 in Denton and was employed as a Graphic Designer. He was also a member of the Baptist faith

Joe was preceded in death by his father, Levi Edward Giles who died in January 2002.

He is survived by his mother, Mrs. Billie Ragin Giles of Corsicana; aunt and uncle, Doylene and Ed Nevill of Trinidad; uncle and aunt, Frank and Edna Giles of Houston; aunt, Leona Giles of Corsicana and a number of cousins and great aunts and uncles.

Emma Lee Walker

Emma Lee Walker, 95, of Corsicana passed away Friday, Nov. 4, 2005, at her residence.

Memorial services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Corsicana.

Mrs. Walker was born Sept. 7, 1910, in Biloxi, Miss., to Robert Lee McBride and Emma Belle Tinsley McBride. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Zertler Walker; sister, Ruby McBride Liller; and grandson, Nathanael S. Crawford.

Survivors include her four daughters and sons-in-law, Deborah Lee Walker of Whitney, Roberta and Horace Brewer of Corsicana, Eunice and Michael Crawford of Gresham, Ore., and Mary and Verne Day of Corsicana; son and daughter-in-law, Robert Edward and Debra Walker of Carthage; 23 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren and one honorary granddaughter.

Mr. Knox was born April 13, 1953, in Corsicana. He was a member of Mount Olive Baptist Church. He was also a truck driver for Rylie Transporation for over 20 years.

He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh P. Knox.

Charles Stanley Andrews, 69, of Corsicana passed away Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village.

Funeral services will be 2 p.m. today at Wilgo Baptist Church, 621 E. First Ave., with Pastor David E. Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Cemetery.

Mr. Andrews was born Feb. 19, 1936, in Corsicana. He attended Corsicana public schools and worked at Henry Slate’s Grocery Store for many years. He was outgoing, down to earth, fun loving and never met an enemy or stanger wherever he would go. He was an excellent cook with his specialty being “butter beans and cracklin cornbread.”

He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond Carl “R.C.” and Martha Andrews; and brothers, Raymond Jr., Jim Sr. and Robert Lee Sr.

Survivors include his sisters, Grace Jordan (Richard) of Corsicana and Martha Johnson (Lynnis) of Los Angeles, Calif.; two brothers, Walter Andrews of Corsicana and Harold Andrews (Mary) of Fort Worth; one aunt, Eula Mae Wilson of Corsicana; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Ronnie Dean Foley, born Aug. 21, 1959, passed away Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at his home in Broadus.

After a career in the U.S. Army he retired to Broadus, close to the lakes and rivers where he indulged in his favorite passion of fishing. His fishing buddies, Ronnie Jr. and Greg Stoehr, really gave those fish trouble. After several years he found a passion he liked even better than fishing, being a grandpa. He spent his last year devoting all his time to his precious grandson Allen, who he thought was an angel and could do no wrong.

He leaves behind his wife, Myong Foley of Broadus; one son, Ronnie Foley Jr. of Mexia; daughter and son-in-law, Mina and David Cooper of Broadus; daughter, Gina Foley of Linden; and one grandson, Allen Wayne Cooper of Broadus.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Debbie Coslin Fitzpatrick.

He is also survived by his mother and stepfather, Pat Kennemore and Larry Demoss of Emhouse; father and stepmother, Harvey and Florence Coslin of Damon; aunt, Ruth Heide of Mexia; brother and sister-in-law, Rickey Foley and Lupe Ores of Corsicana; sister and brother-in-law, Dolly and Richard Bowles of Corsicana; sister, Trisha Foley of Mexia; foster brother, James McWhorter of Ennis; uncles, Doyle Coslin and Bobby Joe Coslin of Fairoaks; aunt, Vanessa Brotherton of Corsicana; nieces, Teresa Foley of Germany and Laura Bowles of Corsicana; nephew, David Kennemore of Portland; great-nieces, Destanie and Emalee Kennemore of Portland; and nephew, Atticus Foley of Mexia.
