Services will be 2 p.m. Saturday at Paschal Funeral Home in Kerens with the Rev. Chuck Biscoe officiating. Burial will be in
Kerens City Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband, Earl Bruner of Kemp; a daughter, Virginia Fowler
of Garland; two granddaughters; and two great-granddaughters; a brother
Scholwinski of Austin; and a sister, Lillian Schugart of Austin.

Earl Bruner, 79, of Kerens, died in Lakeland Medical Center, Athens, Thursday, May 11, 1989. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Paschal Funeral Home

Bruner resided at Cedar Creek, was a member of the US military service during World War II Veteran and was a
member of the Baptist church. He was a security officer before retiring.

Mr. Jackson passed away Friday, June 23, 2006 at the Greenbrier Nursing Home.
He was born Nov. 20, 1922 in Kerens, Texas to the late Charlie and Flossie Mooney Jackson.
He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church and served as a deacon and church treasurer for many years. He graduated from Cayuga High School and served in the
Army during WWII with time spent in Japan. After more than 40 years, he retired from the wholesale oil and gasoline
business.
He was preceded by his parents. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Patsy Hatfield Jackson of Palestine; daughter, Sherrie Jones and husband Larry of
Longview; grandson, Chris Jones of Palestine; granddaughter, Lacey Jones of London, England; sister, Mavanee Lightfoot and husband A.D. of Palestine; also
nephews, Doug and Tim Lightfoot, great niece, Amber Lightfoot and a great nephew, Spencer Lightfoot.
Pallbearers will be Chris Jones, Larry Jones, Doug Lightfoot, Tim Lightfoot, Forest Jackson, A.C. Jackson, Tommie Lee Jackson, Howitt Jackson, Denzil Jackson
and Venara Jackson.

Henry Molloy Dead
Henry Molloy who has been a resident of Corsicana since 1868, died at the home of his son, Will Molloy, in this city last Tuesday night. He was 84 years of
age, and until about one year ago took an active interest in affairs. He was an Alabamian. He built the Molloy hotel and for a great many years personally
conducted it, and at the time of his death this land mark belonged to him. He was well known throughout the county and highly esteemed by everyone. A
Cumberland Presbyterian, strong in the religious faith, a man in integrity and honor, and all who knew him liked him for his splendid qualities of heart.
His remains were interred in Oakwood cemetery Thursday morning at 10 o'clock, attended by a large circle of
sympathizing and sorrowing friends.

Clyde “Jack” Chambers passed away on Sunday, May 13, 2007 at the Heritage Oaks Retirement Village. He was born on Aug. 25, 1921 in Gorman to his parents Ollie
W. and Rosa Lee Chambers. He was a resident of Forest Glade for many years. He was the owner/operator of Chambers Welding Company in Mexia for a number of
years. He also was well known as a fisherman, selling his catch to people in Mexia and its surrounding areas.
He is survived by his sister, Tess Young of Mineral Wells; daughters Debbie Batey of Blooming Grove, Brenda Spence of Corsicana and Linda Ridge of
Fairfield; grandsons James Roy Spence and Michael Ferguson of Corsicana, Michael Ridge of Mesquite and Pete Ridge of Lindale; granddaughters Jennifer Miller of
Blooming Grove and Judy Haggard of Longview, Kerri Pearson and Kristi Wittman of Rowlett; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife Clareece Chambers, and sons David and Ronnie Chambers.
A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at
Oakwood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Honorary pallbearers will be James Roy Spence, Michael Ferguson, Keith Robertson, Bill Young, Wiley Young and Jesse Nelson.

Mrs. Bessie Evelyn Burnett, wife of Dr. S. H. Burnett, aged thirty years, one
month and one day, died at the family home, 1525 West Third avenue, at 11
o’clock. Rev. W. R. Gray of Corsicana officiating.
The deceased was a member of the First Baptist church and a short prayer
service was held at the home at 5:30 this morning, conducted by Rev. B. W.
Vining, and was well attended, and many friends accompanied the body to the
Union Station here.
Surviving the deceased are her parents, who live in Cameron, and her husband
and two children, one a babe of a few weeks.
The deceased lady had many warm friends in Corsicana and her untimely death
is a source of much sorrow, and sincere sympathy goes out to the bereaved
husband in his hour of sadness.

H. B. Currington, 74, died at his home in Purdon Saturday morning following
an extended illness.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p.m. from the Griffin Chapel with

B. W. Johnson of Corsicana.

John Claghorn Formerly Well Known Restaurant Man Here.
Mr. John Claghorn of Dallas die in that city yesterday morning at 4 o’clock
after a long illness with tuberculosis and the remains were laid to rest there
yesterday afternoon. Mr. Claghorn was a former resided of this city for a number
of years, he being connected with the restaurant of Schomerus and Atkins here
and also conducting a business of his own here for a short time. The deceased
left a wife and also has a brother living in this city, Mr. J. P. Claghorn.
“Johnnie” Claghorn had many friends here who will be grieved to learn of his
untimely death and his wife and other relatives have the sympathy of all in
their sorrow.

Mrs. Lavinia Gorman, 74m widow of the late Robert M. Gorman, died at the
family residence, 1912 North Beaton street Tuesday morning.
A native of Ellis County, Mrs. Gorman resided at Roane prior to moving to
Corsicana two years ago.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 2 p.m. from the Corley Chapel with
burial in the Chatfield cemetery.
The rites will be conducted by J. B. Johnson, minister of the North Beaton
Street Church of Christ, of which Mrs. Gorman was a member, assisted by C. B.
Holcomb, pastor of the Fifth Avenue Church of Christ.
Surviving are four sons, Melvin Gorman, Roane; Stanley, Albert and Howard

Mrs. Gilmore Is Buried Sunday in Old Home Town
Wills Point, March 24-(SP) —
Funeral services were held at the Russell Memorial Methodist church Sunday
afternoon for Mrs. Clarence E. Gilmore. Interment was in White Rose cemetery by
the side of her husband who was buried five months and ten days before.
Mrs. Gilmore who was Miss Lina McKain was married to Mr. Gilmore here
thirty-four years ago, March 18th. Her death came two days after
their wedding anniversary.
The floral offering was one of the most magnificent ever seen here and many
attended the funeral from Dallas, Austin, Paris and other Texas cities. Dr. J.
F. Brothers, pastor of the church officiated.

Broke Her Hip Three Weeks Ago and Died Last Night

Mrs. M. E. Gafford, aged 81 years, died in the P. and S. hospital last night
at 8 o'clock after suffering three weeks as the result of a fall in which she
sustained a broken hip. The deceased made her home with her son, G. W. Mann, who
lives near Kerens, and the remains were taken there today for interment. Besides
the son named, the deceased is survive by two daughters, Mrs. Tom Griffith of
Corsicana, and Mrs. Love Wells of New Mexico.

Richard E. (Dick) Byrd, 36, native of Richland, died in Houston Monday,
January 9. Funeral services were held Thursday at 3:30 p.m. from the Heights
Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the Forest Park cemetery.
The rites were conducted by Chaplain Ray E. Renolds, with graveside rites
performed by the Effington Air Force Base.
Byrd was a graduate of Richland High School. He was a member of the Veterans
of Foreign wars.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Laura M. Byrd; two daughters, Iva Byrd and
Mrylin Joyce Byrd, and a son, Richard Belton Byrd, all of Houston; mother, Mrs.
Willie Hill Byrd, Richland; two sisters, Mary and Martha Byrd, both of Richland;

Buried This Afternoon
Remains of W. F. Gray Reached Here From Port Arthur.
The remains of Wilson f. Gray, who died at Port Arthur Monday, reached here
this morning at 5 o'clock and were buried at 2:30 this afternoon, the funeral
being conducted from the residence of C. W. Brock on First Street. Rev. B. W.
Vining conducted the funeral.
The pall bearers were Geo. W. Kuykendall, John Hoffman, J. N. Scoggins, C. A.
Middleton, R. P. McEntire, and C. N. Gisen.
Mr. Gray died from the effects of a fall received at Port Arthur several days
ago. He was in the employ of the Gulf Refining Company, and while building a
tank fell from the top of it, fracturing his skull. Prior to going to Port
Arthur a few weeks ago Mr. Gray had been in the employ of the Magnolia Petroleum
company here. He leaves a wife and one child. His parents reside in Kerens and
he has a brother whose home is in Dallas.

W. M. Byers, formerly of Corsicana died in Electra yesterday where he was
engaged in the oil field, and the remains were brought here today and were
interred in Oakwood this afternoon
at 2:30 from the Southerland undertaking parlors.
The deceased was 69 years old and was an uncle of Ben Clopton and was Rice,
Rev. Chas. Oberschmidt officiated at the funeral and Y. H. Shugart, Sam King, J.
F. Robinson, W. B. Walling, A. E. Treithart and R. C. Sizmeore acted as pall
bearers.
Chas. Byers, a brother, was here from Beaumont to attend the funeral.

Lucius Victor Dunagan
Lucius Victor Dunagan, 34, native of Emmett, Texas highway patrolman for several
years, died in Frost Wednesday night following a several months’ illness.
Funeral services will be held from the First Baptist Church in Corsicana Friday
at 2:30 p. m. Burial will be in the Frost
cemetery.
The rites will be conducted by Dr. W. M. Shamburger, pastor of the church, of
which Dunagan was a member; Rev. C. C. Ellis, pastor of the Frost Baptist
Church, and Rev. Billy Williams, Houston, Baptist minister, formerly of the
Emmett Baptist Church.
Capt. Sam J. Gardner of the Waco Highway Patrol and his patrolmen will be
pallbearers and escort and Highway Patrol Captain Guy Smith of Tyler will be in
charge of the Masonic Lodge graveside rites by a patrol Masonic drill team.
A veteran of World War II, he held
the Bronze Star with clusters and the Purple Heart. He served in the European
sector.
Dunagan joined the Highway Patrol in September, 1951, and attended the training
school in Austin. On graduation, he was assigned to the Bryan unit and worked
there until he was appointed to the Corsicana unit in November, 1954. He was
seriously injured when struck by an automobile while investigating a car
accident near Bryan while stations there.
He was a past master of the Frost Masonic Lodge.
Surviving are his wife, the former Miss Fannell Smith of Frost; a son, John
Victor Dunagan; daughter, Cheryl Marie Dunagan; parents, Mr. and Mrs. T. P.
Dunagan; a sister, Mrs. Virgie Minze, all of Frost; two brothers, Bryan Dunagan,
Garland, and Ernest Dunagan, Dallas, and other relatives.

Frost Baptist church.
Surviving are his wife, Frost; a daughter who resided in West Texas; a

Hugh Palmer, 80, retired painter, long-time Frost resident, died in the VA
hospital in Temple Tuesday. He was a veteran of World Wars I and II.
He was a member of the Christian church and American Legion.
Funeral services were held Wednesday at 3 p.m. from the McCormick Funeral
Service chapel with burial in the Frost
cemetery. The rites were conducted by Rev. A. F. Sanders, pastor of the
First Baptist church in Blooming Grove.
Surviving are a niece, Mrs. Frances Palmer Priolo, Eldorado, Ark.; an aunt, Mrs.

Wednesday afternoon at her home here with a heart attack.

Waco.

A graduate of Baylor University in 1938, Mrs. Dawson enjoyed a lifelong love of
music, travel and literature and was active in contributing to Literary Clubs in
both Corsicana, where she lived for 27 years, and Waco, where she spent the last
26 years of her life. She taught Sunday School in the First Baptist Church of
both cities. In Corsicana, while her children were growing up, she was a
longtime president of the P.T.A., and she helped found and establish a
kindergarten at First Baptist Church. At Baylor University, there is now a
scholarship fund created in her name.
She is survived by her husband of 60 years, R. Matt Dawson; five children and
spouses, Donna and Dr. Robert Fisher of Phoenix, Ariz., Rebecca and Jon Brumley
of Fort Worth, Mark Dawson of St. Paul, Minn., Carol Dawson of Austin, and John
and Allie Dawson of Henderson; 16 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and
numerous relatives and dear friends.
The family request that, in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Princess
Louise Dawson Scholarship Fund, Baylor University, Waco, Texas.

She was born in Corsicana, the daughter of Jesse R. Howell and Dottie D.
Lowance Howell. She received a bachelor's degree in speech pathology from
Southwest Texas State University and a master's degree in speech pathology from
Baylor University.
Ms. Eubank was employed by the Waco Independent School District for over 30
years in a variety of capacities: speech therapist, special education
supervisor, assistant principal at Sul Ross Elementary School and principal at
Dripping Springs Special School. She retired from WISD in April 1999. Also,
until very recently, she was facilitator for the graduate program, Educational
Services Center for Region XII. She devoted her life and her energy to Waco's
children with special needs and their teachers, and was admired and loved by
many.
Survivors include her sister, Dwayne Howell Roberts; son and daughter-in-law,
Gregory T. and Carol C. Eubank; granddaughter, Macy Elizabeth Eubank; nephews,

Mrs. Bee was born in Corsicana to James Jackson and Tennie Nokes Castles. She
attended private school and Rice Business College in Corsicana. She worked for
17 years for Oil City Iron Works. She married Roland Bee on Nov. 9, 1935. She
was a longtime member and active worker in the Methodist Church. Her work began
with children's division. She taught the adult Willing Workers Sunday School
Class for many years and was a life member of WSCS.
Mrs. Bee was a dedicated volunteer and received numerous recognitions for her
service, including being nominated for the Outstanding Senior Citizen Volunteer
of Navarro County and was recognized by then Governor Ann Richards. She was a
member of the James Blair Chapter of the DAR where she served as regent of the
chapter, registrar and treasurer. She was a member of Eastern Star for 50 years,
a volunteer for the Texas Department of Aging, worked as a clerk in state and
county elections, was a member of the Woman's Club House and several other city
clubs.
Her strength came from many sources including the Bible verse," I can do all
things through Christ who strengthens me."
She was preceded in death by her parents, James Jackson and Tennie Nokes
Castles; husband, Roland Bee on May 1, 1987; brothers, Jack, Bill and Tom
Castles; and sister, Hortense Roosink Klemche.
Mrs. Bee is survived by her sister, Margaret Stewart of Temple; nieces, Margaret
Anne Kleypas and Virginia Harrison; nephews, Charles, John and Jack Castles; six
great-nieces, six great-nephews and four great-great nieces.

and sisters, Alice Myers and Bea Alexander.
Mrs. Yerby is survived by her daughter, Linda Schafer Keele and husband Robert
of Corsicana; son, George Lee Yerby and wife Barbara of Decatur; grandchildren,

Sharon Elaine Nunnelley Bynum went to be with her Lord on Friday, May
18, 2007 at the age of 60 years at her residence in Richland, Texas. She
was born in Allen, Oklahoma on November 2, 1946 to Thurman (Jim) Ernest
Nunnelley and Sarah Venietta Watts Nunnelley. Sharon loved to spend time
with he children and grandchildren, "spoiling" them every time she had a
chance. She enjoyed sewing and crafts and could talk to anyone and made
new friends all the time. She was a member of the Providnece Baptist
Church in Mildred.
Sharon was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister: Jeannie Sue
Fredrick.
Survivors include her husband of 36 years: Ronald Douglas Bynum. One son
Sean Douglas Bynum and wife Jennifer. Four grandchildren: Taitum, Arron,
Landon, and Cole Dylan Bynum. Sister: Gail Ilbery of Earlsboro,
Oklahoma. Numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many
friends and loved ones.
Visitation will be Monday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at
Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held in
Coriscana on Tuesday, May 22, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Griffin-Roughton
