Pvt. Phillip J. Vest, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Vest, Purdon, husband of the former Miss Pauline Harper, attended Purdon Schools.  Entered services, 1945, trained with Air Corps at Sheppard Field, where now on duty.
VEST, ORBIN C.
S 1/C Orbin C. Vest, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Vest, Purdon, husband of the former Miss June Goodwin, attended Corsicana Schools.  Entered service, 1943, trained with Navy at Farragut, Idaho.  Has served in Saipan, Luzon, Leyte, and Guam.  Now on duty in South Pacific.  Has 5 Bronze Stars and Ribbons.

SC 3/C Eathel Vest, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Vest, Purdon, attended Corsicana Schools.  Entered service, 1942, trained with Coast Guard at New Orleans.  Has served in South, Central and Western Pacific.  Now on duty at Long Beach, California.  Has 5 Bronze Stars and Ribbons.

S 1/C Henry Vest, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Vest, Purdon.  Entered service, 1944, trained with Navy at San Diego.  Has served in Hawaiian Islands and now on duty in Pearl Harbor.
VEST, DELMA R.
Pfc. Delma R. Vest, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Vest, husband of the former Miss Lois King, graduate of Emhouse Schools.  Entered service, 1943, trained with Air Corps at Miami Beach, Fla. and Chanute Field, Ill.  Has served in Marianas, now on duty somewhere in Pacific.
VEST, TROY L.
Pvt. Troy L. Vest, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Vest, Frost, graduate of Frost High School.  Entered the Army 1945, trained at Camp Hood, and Ft. Meade, Md.  Now on duty in the Hawaiian Islands.  Has Honors in the Rifle, Carbine and Bazooka.

Pvt. Marvin L. Vinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Vinson, attended Raleigh Schools.  Entered service, 1942, trained with Army at Ft. Crockett, Camp Swift and Fort Benjamin Harrison, where now on duty.  Has Good Conduct Medal.

Cpl. Auborn J. Vinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. S. R. Vinson, husband of the former Miss Mary R. Vaughan, attended Purdon High School.  Entered service, 1941, trained with Army at Ft. Bliss and Camp Hulen.  Has served in England, France, Belgium, Holland, and Germany.  Has Good Conduct, Pre-Pearl Harbor and European Theater Ribbons.
VOUGHT, SAM H.
Sam H. Vought, son of Mrs. S. J. Vought, Corsicana.  Entered the Army in 1936.  Served overseas in the European Theater.  Wounded in France, now in the hospital at Temple, Texas.

Hubbard Vought, son of Mrs. S. J. Vought, Corsicana, husband of the former Miss Virginia Vought.  Entered the Air Corps in 1940, now on duty at Orlando, Fla.

Sgt. William L. Walker, son of Mrs. Martha Young.  Attended Corsicana High School.  Entered service, 1941, training with the Army at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. and Aberdeen, Maryland.  Served in Australia, New Caledonia.  Discharged July 1945.
 
WALKER, DURWOOD C.
S 2/C Durwood C. Walker, son of G. L. Walker, Kerens, graduated from Kerens High School.  Entered the Navy in 1944, training at US. Naval Base, San Diego, Calif.  Served on Hawaii and is now with Amphibious Force, U.S.S. Noble.
WALKER, LESTER S.
Cpl. Lester S. Walker, son of Mrs. W. J. Blackwood and husband of former Ruth Atkins of Kerens.  Attended school at Bazette and Kerens.  Entered the Army Nov. 6, 1942, training at Ft. Sill, Okla., Ft. Bliss, Tex., and Camp Roberts, Calif.  Served in India, Burma, China Theater.  Has 2 Battle Stars and is now on duty in China.
WALKER, JACK
Pvt. Jack Walker, son of Mrs. W. J. Blackwood, attended Bazette School.  Entered the Army March, 1943, training at Camp Bowie, Texas and Ft. Lewis, Wash.  Served in England and Germany where he is now on duty.

Sgt. J. Wallace, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. P. Wallace, graduate of Terrell High School.  Entered service, 1944, training with the Army at Camp Fannin.  Served in Germany and France.  Now on duty at Hot Springs, Ark.  Has Inf. Badge.
WALLACE, HERBERT W.
S/Sgt. Herbert W. Wallace, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. W. Wallace, attended Rural Shade School.  Mobilized with 36th Division Nov., 1940, training at Camp Bowie, Tex., Camp Edwards, Mass.  Engaged in N. African-ETO Campaigns.  Discharged June, 1945.
