the former Mildred Johnson of Fort Worth. Attended Powell High School and
T.C.U. Entered service in May 1941, training in Calif. and saw combat on
Guam, in the Philippines with the Air Transport Command. Discharged in
October 1945. |

Hillsboro Methodist Church. Volunteered for service as a chaplain in the U.S.

Airborne Divs. Entered service in August 1943, training at Ft. Benning, Ga. and

Central Europe, participating in the D-Day invasion and the Battle of the Bulge,
and Germany during the occupation. Awarded the Purple Heart. Son of George F.
and Georgia Barnes McDonald of Shreveport, La. Husband of the former Gene
(Geneva) Page.

and Normandy Invasion. Awarded Silver Star for gallantry in action in
Cherbourg, France, Bronze Star, Purple Heart. During occupation of Germany, he
was he Beurgermeister (Mayor) of Eichstat, Germany. Awarded several unit

Prisoner in P.I. camps and Japan camps. Whereabouts unknown to family for 3
years. Released after 42 Months. Awarded Air Medal, Philippine Defense, 1 Bronze
Star, American Defense with 1 Bronze Star, Asiatic-Pacific with 2 Bronze Stars,
