Robert Kenneth Taylor
March 17, 1913 - June 29, 2001 Robert Kenneth Taylor, 88, of Corsicana passed away Friday, June 29, 2001.
Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Resurrection Memorial Park in Oklahoma City, Okla. with the Rev. Tom Ticknor of Chisholm Trail Presbyterian Church in Yukon, Okla. officiating.
Mr. Taylor was born March 17, 1913 in Buffalo, N.Y. to Henry Herbert Taylor and Lillian Carter Taylor. He attended the University of Buffalo and began his career at Metalglass Engineering Company, Belding, Mich., and was factory manager of Ranney Refrigerator Company, Greenville, Mich., and vice president and general manager of Sherman Manson Corporation. In 1959 he moved to Oklahoma City and became vice president and co-owner of Nylabone Dog Bone Corporation. When the company was sold, he continued operating Taylor Refrigeration and also taught HVAC for Sooner Technical Institute and Oklahoma State University T. I. in Oklahoma City before retiring in 1980.
Mr. Taylor was a devoted Christian and served Calvin Presbyterian Church in Oklahoma City as treasurer, elder and deacon, then served Chisholm Trail Presbyterian in Yukon, Okla. as an elder and chairman of the pastor search committee and building committee. After retiring he built and equipped a woodworking shop and spent many hours creating beautiful works of wood, including interior pieces for several of Oklahoma City's historic homes.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Marion; and wife, Frances.
Mr. Taylor is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Kenneth G. and Barbara Taylor of Wilson, N.Y. and Merton A. and Ginger Taylor of San Diego, Calif.; daughter and son-in-law, Judith Ann and Danny Webb of Edmond, Okla.; stepdaughter and husband, Ann and David Ricker of Blooming Grove; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

SWEETWATER - James Robert Taylor, 58, lifelong local resident, died Tuesday at his home.
Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Highland Heights United Methodist Church with the Revs. Norman Patton and Carl Thorell officiating. Burial will be in Sweetwater Cemetery, directed by McCoy Funeral Home.
Mr. Taylor was born in Corsicana and served in the U.S. Army. He taught school for 31-1/2 years and, at the time of his death, was teaching at the Temple
Dickson Detention Center. He was active in the Kairos organization. He was a member of Highland Heights United Methodist Church and was the widower of Doris Sullivan Taylor, whom he married in 1960 in Sweetwater.
Survivors include two daughters, Robbie Jean Taylor of Arlington and Kimbra M. Froehlich of San Angelo; his mother, Aetna Taylor of Sweetwater; three brothers, L.B. Taylor and Doug Taylor, both of Sweetwater, and Dennis Taylor of Hurst-Euless-Bedford; one sister, Linda Wade of Midland; a companion, Angie Fullwood of Sweetwater; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

Viola was born in Corsicana, Texas on April 19, 1914, the daughter of William and Ada Wooten Vansickle. She married William "Buck" Oliver Teague on February 19, 1937. Mrs. Teague was a member of the Assembly of God Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William "Buck" Oliver Teague; son, James H. Salmons; and daughter, Gay Nell Montgomery.
Survivors: Son, Elton Teague of Fort Worth; daughters, Marilyn Arthur of Fort Worth and Wanda Stotts of Covington; brother, Archie Vansickle of Fort Worth and Elizabeth Kruse of Wylie; 13 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Teakell was born April 29, 1939 in Hubbard. He had been a resident of Irving the past four years and formerly lived in Grand Prairie. He had also been a resident of Corsicana for 16 years, where he was employed by Kmart for 14 years as a transport driver. Mr. Teakell was a military veteran having served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War. He was a Catholic.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leao Teakell; and daughter, Monica Sonja Teakell in 1973.
Mr. Teakell is survived by his wife, Debbie Byram Teakell of Irving; mother,

Mrs. Temple was born Jan. 29, 1914 in Kerens. She was a retired school teacher. She was supervisor of the arts department for the Houston Independent School District.

Mrs. Temple is survived by nieces, nephews and cousins; sister-in-law, Mary Agnes Temple of San Antonio; and brother-in-law, Wilson Temple of Temple.

John R. Thomas, 88, of Richland passed away Tuesday, Aug. 28, 2001.
Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Richland United Methodist Church with Nanette Wyatt officiating. Interment will follow at
Richland Cemetery.

Mr. Thomas was born March 3, 1913 in Waco to Allie and Lena Thomas. While attending Waco High School, he played football coached by the legendary Paul Tyson. Following graduation, Mr. Thomas attended Four C Business College and in 1938 he married
Alma Brown of Richland.
He gave a new, well respected and admired meaning to the words "traveling salesman," a true salesman's salesman. He was acknowledged to be one of the best, most honest traveling salesman by the retailers he called on as well as his fellow traveling peers as exemplified by his being awarded the Outstanding Wholesale Furniture Representative for five states: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Louisiana and New Mexico in 1971.
After retiring and moving to Richland in 1980, Mr. Thomas became active in city government, serving several terms on the city council and being instrumental in securing water service for the city. A fine, trustworthy, God-fearing man, he served as treasurer of the Richland UMC. He expected his wishes to be carried out by family members or friends, but he was always first to offer moral and/or monetary support to those in need.
Mr. Thomas is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Alma Brown Thomas of Richland; daughter, Jan Brown Thomas of Dallas; son and daughter-in-law, Bruce and Shirley Thomas of San Antonio; grandson and wife, Rocky and Julie Thomas and great-granddaughters Marisa and Alex of Cary, N.C.; grandson and wife, David and Liz Thomas and expected twin great-grandchildren of Grapevine; grandson, Tracey Thomas of Houston; sister, Wilma Schwarting of Waco; numerous nephews and nieces and a host of longtime friends.

Thompson, sister: Jane Spears and other relatives. Funeral services will be Saturday, Dec. 30, 2000 at 10:00 A. M. at the Episcopal Church of Our Merciful Savior in Kaufman with Rev. Tom Cantrell officiating and interment will be in Kaufman Cemetery.

Mrs. Thompson was born Nov. 9, 1913 in Tahlequah, Okla. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Corsicana and was a devoted pastor's wife for 62 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, the Rev. Richard K. Thompson.
Mrs. Thompson is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Burney and Martha Thompson of Corsicana; brother, Norman L. Hail of Springdale, Ark.; sister, Norma Leona White of Pryor, Okla.; grandsons, Dr. Lawrence D. Thompson of Coleman, Ronald D. Thompson of Houston and Thomas N. Thompson of Conroe; seven great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leonard Worth "Tommy" Thompson
Dec 18, 1916 - Oct 20, 1995 THOMPSON LEONARD WORTH (TOMMY) was born December 18, 1916 near Kernes, Texas. His parents were Worth Burkett and Sadie Beaulah Thompson. He is preceded in death by his wife of 35 years, Albertine (Doc) Thompson who died October 20, 1995. Mr. Thompson attended Trinity University, playing quarterback on the football team while maintaining three part time jobs to put himself through school. He joined the
Army in WWII and was stationed at Fort Glenn, Alaska with the "Fighting Finance." His army buddies from Alaska were annual companions in recent years as they met to remember experiences they had together. Mr. Thompson was a successful businessman with SIC in Amarillo, Texas until 1971 when he and Albertine moved to Dallas to begin the Town East Ford dealership in Mesquite with Mr. Charles Seeds, Sr. After Mr. Seeds untimely death, Mr. Thompson continued a partnership with Mr. Charles W. Seeds and Mr. Bill Railsback until his retirement in 1986. Not satisfied to golf and hunt All the time, Mr. Thompson continued his interest in the car business as the President and CEO of Thompson Enterprises, which includes Denny's Auto and T & S used car businesses as well as a partnership in Partners Auto Sales. Mr. Thompson is survived by two daughters, Barbara L. Thompson, MD of Galveston, Texas and Linda B. (Thompson) Dickson of Galveston, Texas, stepdaughter, Elizabeth (Betty) Hooker, PhD of Little Rock, Arkansas. He has 7 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren, two nephews, and many wonderful cousins with whom he enjoyed the annual Thompson reunion in Corsicana, Texas on the second Sunday in October. Mr. Thompson loved people. His many friends loved to play golf or go hunting and fishing with him which he was fortunate to do until just a few months before his death. He was a man who loved his family, his friends and his life. In the last thirty-five years he has been particularly fortunate to have Bob and Pat Wilson as dear friends, always willing to wager their nickels and quarters in the never-ending card games. In the last six months, Carmen Rodriguez had been an angel of mercy and constant companion for which the family is immensely grateful. Mr. T, as he was fondly known by his many friends will be sorely missed. His family is perhaps most appreciative of his commitment to education, self reliance and independence and for instilling these values in all the Thompson clan. Services will be 12:30 p.m., Tuesday, January 23, 2001 at Restland Memorial Chapel. Interment to follow at Restland Memorial Park. Mr. Threet was born May 21, 1938 in Cryer Creek, the son of Walker and Agnes Rodgers Threet. He was raised in Rice and was a graduate of Rice High School. He then was employed by Leggett and Platt in Ennis. He entered the U.S. Army and returned to Leggett and Platt after his discharge. On March 29, 1959, he married Ann Hickman of Groesbeck. After their marriage they lived in Ennis. He retired as plant manager of Branch 19 in 1992. He was a member of the Baptist church and the American Legion where he served as post commander for two years, district commander and division commander.
He was preceded in death by his son, Caleb Glen Threet in 1960.
Mr. Threet is survived by his wife, Ann Threet of Ennis; sons, Scott Threet and wife Mindi and Rick Threet, all of Ennis; brother, Billy Threet of Prairieville; sisters, Marquita Minick and Patsy Knott, both of Corsicana, Nancy Northern of Corbet, Bewetta Gazaway of Bruceville, Sue Heaton and Linda Vanderlaan, both of Waco, and Kitty Spurgeon of Ennis; and grandchildren, Cayla and Colby Threet.

Sep 23, 1904 - Jan 26, 2001 Annie O'Neal Tinkle, 96, of Corsicana passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2001 in Corsicana.
Graveside services will be 4 p.m. today at Pattison Cemetery in Emhouse with the Rev. B.F. Risinger Jr. officiating. Nephew Bill O'Neal will give the eulogy.
Mrs. Tinkle was born Sept. 23, 1904 in Emhouse to John T. and Nannie Owen O'Neal. She graduated from Emhouse High School with honors in 1923 and was married to Archie Tinkle in 1928. She was an artist whose work was exhibited in "one-man" showings in Corsicana, Dallas and Olton, where she won a number of prizes. In the mid 1950s she and Mrs. William T. (Jean) Shell collaborated and painted a historical mural of Corsicana, which is now displayed in the Corsicana Public Library Annex. In ther mid-80s, she began hand-fashioning 19th Century doll clothes. These doll clothes won a State Fair of Texas blue ribbon. She was a charter member of First Baptist Church of Emhouse with present membership at First Baptist Church of Corsicana. She devoted her life to nurturing and caring for her young family members and close friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers and sisters, including: Ellen O'Neal Sharpley, George R. O'Neal, Herren O'Neal, Ada K. O'Neal, Maggie O'Neal Steen, Tommie O'Neal Campbell and W.C. O'Neal.
Mrs. Tinkle is survived by her sister-in-law, Jessie O'Neal of Corsicana, along with nieces and nephews.

had been in the hospital about two weeks. The Rev W.O. Estes officiated and burial was in Dawson Cemetery. Mr. Tramel was a veteran of the U.S. Army and received degrees from the University of Arizona in Tuscon and Lamar University and Lamar University in Beaumont. He was a longtime resident of Houston and had been teaching in the HISD for 11 years, most recently at Mark Twain Elementary, where he was instrumental in safety patrol.
Mr. Tramel is survived by his parents, Wilfred and Anne Tramel; brother and daughter-in-law Michael and Theresa Tramel; sisters and brother-in-laws Rossanna and Tim Werner, Evalyne and Jack Simpson, Lisa and Jafar Asi; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

She was a graduate of Kerens High School, Navarro College and Texas A&M University. She taught kindergarten in the Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District for 10 years. She was a member of Texas Classroom Teachers Association and Parkside Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Chris Trotter of Denison; daughter, Kaylee Trotter of Denison; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Stanton Ragsdale of Kerens; sisters and brothers-in-law, Robbie and Jack Lamkin of Allen and Sherry and Jack Kent of Keller; and nephews, Matthew, Jeffery and Tyler Lamkin, all of Allen, and Phillip Kent of Keller.

She was a member of the Dawson Lions Club and twice served as club president. She was also a member and current president of the Dawson Historical Society. She had served as an officer of the Dawson Saddle Club and was a member of the Dawson Ex-Students Association. She was an organizer of the past Dawson homecoming parades and Dawson homecoming reunions. She was also a very active member of the Democratic party and was an active supporter of numerous candidates especially in Navarro County. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Dawson. She was preceded in death by her husband, Tommy Truelove in 1990; daughter, Dianna Lynn Truelove Hiener in 1998; and brother, J.C. Slater in 1999.
Mrs. Truelove is survived by her son, Billy Lyn "Buck" Truelove of Houston; grandson, Thomas Blayne Truelove of Corsicana; sisters, Margie Chandler of Ennis, Mary Halford and Linda Bryant, both of Dawson, and Jane Adams of Cross Roads; and numerous nieces and nephews. She born Oct. 26, 1939, in Corsicana. She married Travis Trussell on June 7, 1958, in Plainview.
She worked at F. W. Woolworth in Plainview, West Drug in Plainview, Sears and Robuck in Plainview and the Plainview Independent School District as a teachers aide. She owned TNT Enterprise.
She was a member of the 11th and Amarillo Church of Christ. She lived in Plainview since 1953, coming from Amarillo.
Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Kelly Schaffer of Pampa; her mother, Juanita Phinny of Amarillo; two brothers, Ronnald Phinny of Amarillo and Jimmy Phinny of Baytown; and a grandson.

Dec 17, 1925 - May 1, 1999 NOCONA, Texas Ernwood "Ernie" Brinson Tullos, 73, died Saturday, May 1, 1999, in a Denton, Texas hospital.
Services will be at 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church of Denton with the Rev. Lisa Wilcott officiating. Burial will be in Liberty Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Scott-Morris Funeral Home.
Mr. Tullos was born Dec. 17, 1925, in Frost, Texas. He and Bettye Level were married June 21, 1946, in Nocona. He joined the Navy at 17 and served as an electrician mate on the USS Ballinger for three years. He landed on Iwo Jima and saw the damage at Nagasaki, Japan. He received his degree from Texas Tech University in electrical engineering while working at Lubbock Power and Light Company. For the next two years, he was involved in renovating power stations in and around Lahore, west Pakistan. After being a consultant in Lubbock and San Francisco, he moved to Denton. He worked for the city of Denton as the director of electrical power and distribution system. After his retirement, he was involved in Meals on Wheels, Habitat for Humanity projects, Special Olympics and Rotary Club. He was president of Bungalow Class at First United Methodist Church of Denton.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Tommy of Denton; a daughter, Garyesue T. Hooper of Lancaster, Texas; a sister, Sharon Ripaldi of Dallas; two brothers, Max of Fort Worth and Jerry of Southfork, Colo.; and six grandchildren. Notes:

She was a member of The Heavenly Gospel Church of God in Christ in the Stop Six area of Fort Worth. She moved to Corsicana in 1937, then to Fort Worth in 1952. She worked as a private home caregiver until her retirement in 1990. She was very involved in the community and received the Martin Luther King Jr. Humanitarian Award from the Black Pastor's Association of Texas in 1986 by Dr. T. Haynes. She served formerly as an usher and, at the time of her death, she was the president of the Mother's Board, and a member of Prayer Band, Missionary Board, and worked in the Field of Evangelism. She received many outstanding awards for faithful service in The Heavenly Gospel Church. Survivors: Daughters, Mae Katherine Webster, Erma McDaniel; brother, O'Neal Harris of Los Angeles, Calif.; sisters, Eula Cruger, Chester Lena Hubbard, both of Waco; eight grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchidlren.

Mr. Turner was born Dec. 14, 1958, in Corsicana to Charles Turner of Dallas and Maxine Turner-Kelley of Corsicana. He was a graduate of Corsicana High School and later attended Paul Quinn College. He was baptized in the Lord's church in Dallas at Cliffview Congregation and later united with the Eastside Church of Christ in Garland.

Visitation: 6:30 to 8 p.m. Friday at Emerald Hills Funeral Home. Mrs. Vinet was married to L. P. Vinet for 40 years. As a young couple, they adopted their son, Daniel, when he was 5 years old. "Clessie" was a dedicated and faithful wife and mother. She spent many years ministering to young Christian women, helping them to repair and rebuild their marriages. She accomplished this through scripture-based counseling and the use of scriptural books that she authored. She was also a member of First Baptist Church in Conroe. "Clessie" was preceded in death by her husband, Louis P. Vinet.

Dorothy Ann Waldon was born Aug. 25, 1936, in Corsicana.
She was a lifetime member of the PTA. She worked for Harris Methodist Hospital in the rehab unit as a registered nurse; prior to that, she volunteered at Harris for many years. She was affectionately known as "Mammaw." She was a
friend to many and loved by all and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of her sixth grandchild.
The family extends heartfelt thanks for the thoughts and prayers of their friends, to the staff of the seventh floor oncology unit at Harris Methodist Fort Worth, Dr. Mark Redrow and staff, and Texas Oncology Fort Worth.

Mr. Walton was born in Corsicana and moved to Breckenridge from College Station in 1947. He graduated from Corsicana High School and from Texas A&M University in 1944. He was a petroleum engineer, a rancher and an independent oil operator. He was a member of St. Andrews Episcopal Church and was an Army veteran of World War II. He was a member of Elks Lodge, Lions Club and a lifetime board member of the Dallas YMCA Camp Grady Spruce. He married Bea Blankenstein in 1943 in Pasadena.
Survivors include his wife, of Breckenridge; one daughter, Frances Wood of Mineral Wells; one son, John Walton of Abilene; one sister, Elaine Parker of Corsicana; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Charlie Joe "Bill" Warrington, 77, of Corsicana passed away Monday, July 9, 2001 at Baylor Hospital in Dallas.

Mr. Warrington was born Feb. 1, 1924 in Blooming Grove. He served in the Navy during World War II as an aviation machinists mate on Torpedo Squadron Four on the USS Essex. He received the Presidential Unit Citation and the Air Medal.
He was employed by Bethlehem Steel in Corsicana and transferred to Houston with Continental Emsco in 1959. After moving back to Corsicana he began working as a carpenter and cabinet maker. After his retirement he spent many hours with friends playing golf and repairing their clubs, a hobby he enjoyed. He will be remembered by his desire to get young people started playing golf. He was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church. A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, he will be sorely missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Bertha Warrington; brothers, Buddy and S.J. Warrington; and sisters, Jewel, Leone and Lorene Warrington and Mary Moffitt.

DALLAS (Special) - Services for James McClellan Wassell, 85, of Plano will be at 3:30 p.m. today in Wildwood Chapel in Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
He died Sunday, June 29, 1997, in Plano.
He was born Sept. 27, 1911, in Corsicana. He graduated from the University of Texas Law School in 1938. He served as president of the Lubbock Bar Association. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club and the Presbyterian church. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He practiced law for many years. He worked for the Veterans Administration and Small Business Administration, retiring in 1979. His wife, Kathryn, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his wife, Mary; a son, Bud of College Station; two daughters, Kay Jackson of Arlington and Carol Betty of Richardson; two stepchildren; a brother, John of Dallas; a sister, Patricia Kirby of San Antonio; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.

Jan. 14, 1903 - Jan 4, 2001 Luther W. Waters, 97, of Corsicana passed away Thursday, Jan. 4, 2001 in Corsicana.
Graveside services will be 2:30 p.m. today at Kerens City Cemetery.
Mr. Waters was born Jan. 14, 1903 in Jackson, Miss. He grew up in Mildred and was a department manager for Sears for 35 years, retiring in Tyler. He was a member of Grace Bible Church until he moved to Corsicana, where he was a member of Park Meadow Baptist Church. He resided at Friendship Towers eight years and spent his last years at Twilight Home, which he loved calling his home.
Mr. Waters is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Joye H. and Fred Mitchell; grandson, David P. Mitchell; great-grandsons, Paul Mitchell, Ben Mitchell and Matthew Mitchell; and great-granddaughters, Jenny Mitchell and Katie Mitchell, all of Mexia.

Pallbearers will be Carmack Watkins, Earl Loyd Watkins, Billy Bob Watkins, Kenneth Ray, James Brown and W. J. Armstrong.
Mrs. Watkins was born Oct. 2, 1910 in Barry to Bert and Ida Mitchell. She was a member of Emhouse Baptist Church where she was the pianist for several years and taught small children in Sunday School. She was also active in PTA work and the Women's Friendship Club at Emhouse. She was a devoted housewife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charlie Watkins; sister, Ima Robinson; and brother, George Mitchell.
Mrs. Watkins is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Robert and Lavonne Watkins of Corsicana; daughter and son-in-law, Jane and Bob Cohen of College Station; three grandsons and wives, Lewis and Margie Watkins of Barry, Mike and Lorri Watkins of Bedias, and Kevin and Liz Watkins of Overton; six great-grandchildren, Brooke, Brittany and Brendon Watkins of Barry, Cassie and Casey Watkins of Bedias, and Logan Watkins of Overton; sister and brother-in-law, Mary Marie and Poncho Baird of Santa Fe, NM; sister-in-law, Buela Mitchell of Barry; and a host of nieces and nephews.

Although Mr. Watson was a native of Fort Worth, he had lived for many years in Houston. Mr. Watson was an avid golfer and bowler, an enthusiastic amateur musician and artist, loved to dance, laugh and meet people. Sam will be dearly missed by his family and friends. She attended Trinidad and Malakoff schools and graduated from Malakoff High School. She moved to Dallas with J. H. Roberts family and continued as a loyal employee for more than 55 years, providing a nurturing and caring environment for several generations. Katie Wattley was an excellent gourmet cook and enjoyed it from the heart. She united the Arlington Park Baptist Church of Dallas and gave of her services untiringly with the Missionary Society, Neighborhood Prayer Band, Hospitality Committee and Sunday School. Katie Wattley lived in Fort Worth since 1990 to be with her daughter because of a decline in health. Wake: 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Lloyd Earsey Watts was born Oct. 24, 1907, in Corsicana. He was one of 15 children born to Charlie and Jeffery Ann Stewart Watts; his twin, Floyd, died at age 7. Lloyd came to Fort Worth over 80 years ago. He worked as a coach cleaner for Texas and Pacific Railroad until his retirement in 1972; and then was employed by Miller Mutual Insurance Co. until his second retirement. Lloyd was then employed by Bass Enterprises until retirement in 1992. During his spare time, he was a waiter at local country clubs and served private parties and held a part-time job at American Airlines. He was a loyal member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church and had served as an usher. He was a master Mason, affiliated with Grand Temple Lodge #75. A daughter, Lorean Petty Srain, preceded him in death. Survivors: Wife, Hattie Mae Watts; son, Eddie G. Watts; daughter, Gloria A. Amos of Arlington; brothers, J. W. Mr. Weaver was born Aug. 8, 1938 in Freestone. He lived most of his life in the Dawson area. He was retired from his former job as a potato inspector for Tom's Foods in Corsicana. He was an avid hunter and fisherman, and was an Army veteran. He was a Pentecostal.
He was preceded in death by his parents, George Alexander and Josie Weaver; sisters, Bertha Thomson and Joann Blackmon; and brothers, Daniel Weaver and Eddy Jean Weaver.

WEAVER,  DR. GAYLE M. Family and friends will celebrate the life of Gayle Weaver on Saturday, November 18, 2000 at 10:00 am in the Performance Hall of Eastfield College in Mesquite. Gayle was born in Richland, Texas on June 24, 1938 to Ora V. and Sylvester G. Weaver. He grew up in the Groesbeck, Texas area. Gayle attended Navarro College in Corsicana at the beginning of his lifelong journey in education and teaching. He received a B.S. in Business and Math and a B.S. in Biology from East Texas State University. He received a M.S. in Geology and Physics from the University of Oklahoma. He also received a Ph.D. in Science Education from East Texas University in 1969. Gayle began his teaching career as a science teacher at Wortham High School in 1952-54 and in Blooming Grove High School in 1964-65. In 1965, he studied at the Oak Ridge Institute of Nuclear Studies in Tennessee. At the inception of the Dallas County Community College System in 1966, Gayle began his 36 year career as a science teacher in higher education In 1970, he opened Eastfield College where he served in a teaching capacity as professor of biology. Gayle will be missed dearly by his students, friends, colleagues and especially, his family. Gayle was preceded in death by his parents and his brother Tommy Joe. He leaves behind a family who celebrates with joy his legacy of life. Loved ones include his wife Susan; his son, Gayle and Yolie Weaver II of Plano; daughters Jan Weaver, Christi and son-in-law Jason Troutman, and stepson John Robbins; his three grandchildren, Colton and Kinsley Troutman, Dakota Robbins; his brother and family Dale and Nora Weaver; his sister-in-law, Marie Weaver; his mother-in-law, Anita Parker as well as many friends and associates. Gayle went home to his Lord on Monday, November 13, 2000. Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at Wade Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard.

Mrs. Webb was born Nov. 6, 1902 in Swan, near Tyler, to Charles William Kelly and Susan Reid Kelly. She attended Cottonwood grade school and Hubbard High School. She graduated from Tyler Commercial College in 1921. She married Smith Webb Oct. 28, 1922. They raised a family of five children in the Malone and Mt. Calm area where they farmed and ranched.
Mrs. Webb was a member of First Baptist Church in Mt. Calm for many years. She moved to Waco in 1957. She worked at Wolfe Manufacturing in a supervisory and inspection capacity until the early 1970s when she retired.
She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Lacy-Lakeview for many years. She remained active with her family and grandchildren. Her hobbies were crocheting, quilting and gardening. She was a devoted mother and grandmother.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Smith Thomas Webb in 1953; son, William Rufus Webb in 1996; daughter, Margaret Anetha Mounce in 2000; and granddaughter, Darlene Davis in 1981.
Mrs. Webb is survived by her son, S.T. Webb Jr. of Houston, James Curtis Webb of Harlingen and Robert Lawrence Webb of Tyler; grandchildren, Wanda Priest, Paula Tucker, Joe Webb, Linda Webb, Buddy Webb, Kelly Thedford, Lee David Webb, Mark Webb, Susan Webb, Anthony Webb and Vincent Webb; 17 great-grandchildren; 22 great-great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-great-grandchildren.
