Richard B. Groves, son of Henry Groves (20 Dec
1803 - 27 Jan 1879) and Mary Ann Armstrong (19 Dec 1804 - 4 Aug 1889), was born 3 Nov 1828
in Livingston Precinct, Clark Co., IL. On 17 December 1857, in Robertson County, TX,
he married Paulina J. Wharton. Paulina was born in 1840 in Arkansas, the daughter of
the Rev. William H. Whorton (14 April 1816 - 5 August 1861) and Mary Ann Duke (1821 - 11
October 1880). Richard died on 11 February 1883 in Corsicana and is buried in
the Modrall Cemetery in North West Corsicana. Paulina died in 1890 and is buried in
the Brushy Prairie Cemetery,
Emmett, Navarro County, Texas.
