Annie Joyce (Shelton) Crawford
July 30, 1922 - Feb 23, 2015

Joyce Shelton Crawford passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015, after suffering a stroke in late January.
She had been living a vibrant, active life at her home in Kerens prior to the stroke.
Joyce was born to T. M. and Jessie Mae Shelton on July 30, 1922 in Bazette, and was raised in the Bazette and Kerens area. She graduated from Kerens High School in 1939, and then attended East Texas Business College. She married Dwain W. "Ickey" Crawford on May 15, 1950. They were blessed with three children that were the center of Joyce's world. She was a stay at home mom and was always active in the Kerens community. Joyce and Ickey celebrated 41 years of marriage before his untimely death in 1991.
Mrs. Crawford was preceded in death by her husband, Ickey Crawford; and parents, T. M. Shelton and Jessie Mae Massey Shelton.
She is survived by her loving family; daughter, Christy Albeck of Houston; and sons, Russ Crawford and wife Lanelle of Kerens, and Dale Crawford and wife Joyce of Kerens. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Courtney Crawford Robertson and husband Cody of Athens, Cadey Crawford Gillert and husband Jeremy of Athens, Kelley Crawford of Fort Worth, Alexandra Albeck of Houston, and Connor Crawford and Chelsea Crawford of Kerens; and by her precious great grandchildren, Sidney, Sadie and Sam Robertson of Athens, and Paige and Piper Gillert of Athens. Joyce leaves many special cousins, as well as her card playing buddies and a host of loving friends.
Visitation with the family will be 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at Paschal Funeral Home in Kerens.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 26, 2015, at the First United Methodist Church in Kerens. Minister Jimmy Glenn will be officiating, assisted by the Rev. David Montoya.
Pallbearers will be Dickie Allen, Mike Armstrong, Bobby Bain, Connor Crawford, Kelley Crawford and Dr. Eddie McCord.
Honorary Pallbearers are Bubba Blissett, Bobby Henderson, Floyd Henderson, Jim Bob Ivey, Tinker Ivey, Alvie O'Neal, Don Paschal, Dolwin Smallwood, Otis Tate, Billy Shelton, Benny Cherry, Chris Howell and Ben Howell.

Shirley T. Craig, 77, passed away on Monday, November 24, 2014. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, November 28, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary of Ennis. A Celebration of her life will take place at 2 p.m., Saturday, November 29, 2014, in the J.E. Keever Mortuary Chapel in Ennis with Rev. Michael Howard and Rev. Eddie Ricks officiating. Interment will follow in the Rice Cemetery.

Shirley was born in Sulphur Springs, Texas, to the late W. T. and Verna (Ware) Pinson. She grew up in Sulphur Springs and in Dallas. She married Elton A. Craig on January 20, 1956 and they made their home in Dallas then moved to Ennis in 1972. Shirley worked for Atlas Sound for over thirteen years. She was a member of The Cowboy Church of Ennis. She enjoyed cooking and being with family especially her church family.

She is preceded in death by a baby brother, Bobby Glenn Pinson.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Elton A. Craig; grandchildren, Janice Cervantes and Dustin Salsbury; great-grandchildren: Desmond, Kevin, and Emery; brother, Billy Mac Pinson; other relatives and many friends.

Melvin Leon Bason

Melvin Leon Bason, 83, of Arlington, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, February 11, 2015. Graveside service will be held at 3 p.m., Sunday, February 15, 2015, in Frost Cemetery with Herman Michener officiating.

Melvin was born in Frost, Texas, to the late Isaac and Minnie Brewer Bason. He was a graduate from Itasca High School and also a graduate of Baylor University. He served in the United States Army at William Beaumont Army Hospital at Fort Bliss in El Paso. Texas during the Korean War conflict.

He was preceded in death by his brothers, Robert and Oran; and sisters: Lucille, Dorothy, and Hazel.

Survivors include his sister, Marie Smith, of Owasso, Oklahoma; nieces: Lou Ann Cacy, of Tulsa, Rita Kay Longton, of Atwater, Ca., and Melissa "Missy" Phelan, of Athens, TX; nephew, Elvis Don Northern, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma; great-nephew, Jeff Gilbert, of Robinson; great-niece, Cathy Ansohn, of Katy.

Damon Benton, 54, of Brushie Prairie, passed away Saturday, February 21, 2015. He was born January 16, 1961 in Hobbs, New Mexico to Billy Benton and Vivian Kinsel Benton. He enjoyed playing the guitar, fishing and hunting.
He is preceded in death by his father (2014), mother (2013), wife Cindi Nichols (2009), brother Bo Benton (2012).
Damon is survived by sister Norma Porter and husband Benny of Alvin; sisters, Connie and Vicki; sister in law Joy Benton of Buffalo. He is also survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and very special nieces and nephews.

Curtis Merideth Stokes, 93, of Corsicana, formerly of Mexia, passed away Thursday, Oct. 2, 2014 in Corsicana.

He was born June 19, 1921 in Emhouse, to Kyle and Mable Stokes.

Mr. Stokes served in the Army during World War II as a Staff Sergeant.
He retired from Texas Power and Light Company after 41 years where he was distribution supervisor in Central and Southern Divisions. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia, where he served as deacon, guest preacher and Sunday school superintendent. He was a loving, caring father and devoted husband. He was also an avid fisherman and loved animals. He loved to plant gardens and green grass yards. He touched everyone's heart.

He is preceded in death by parents, Kyle and Mable Stokes; brothers, Lonnie Stokes, Calvin Stokes, Billy Joe Stokes and Benny Morris Stokes; daughter, Patricia Elaine Stokes; first wife, Ethelyn Bonner Stokes; second wife, Barbara Glynn Stokes.

Survivors include sons, David Stokes and wife Sue of Cleburne, Ronald Stokes and wife Betty of Corsicana, Cary Stokes of Springfield, Mo., Kevin Stokes and wife Lupe of Wiley; stepdaughter, Gayle Scott and husband Bill of LaGrange; sister, Betsy Norman of Baird; grandchildren, Lauri Hughes, Melissa Holt, Ryan Stokes Rene Stokes; five great-grandchildren; step-grandchildren, Kimberly Chambers, Jerrod Scott; and two great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be 5 to 7 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 5, 2014, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 6, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield, with Brother Rick Gray officiating. Interment will follow at Pattison Cemetery.

Laverne Dudley of Corsicana passed away at Ennis Regional Medical Center on Monday morning, Feb, 23, 2015, at the age of 83.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Ralph E. Dudley.

Survivors include daughter, Bambi Gale Offield and husband Danny of Azel;grandchildren, Joshua Daniel Offield, Jacob Dillion Offield, Taylor Mooneyhan; sisters, Ella Mae Robinson, Johnnie Faye Pye and husband John Ross; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mrs. LaVerne Singleton Galaway, 74, of Corsicana passed away on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.
She was born on Feb. 11, 1941 in Eureka to Benjamin Ernest and Verla Lee McNeill Singleton.
She fought a long hard battle with cancer and was an inspiration to all who knew her. Always pleasant and caring, she drew her strength from the Lord. Her deep faith was evident by her constant ministering to others and her greatest love was caring for children. She touched many young lives that were fortunate enough to be entrusted to the day care she operated for 20 years. Many lifelong loving relationships developed between her and those she �raised�. She will be missed by all but God wanted her to come home. She and her husband were faithful members of Second Avenue Missionary Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Verla Singleton and a sister, Helen Price.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Nelson Galaway; daughter, Donna Galaway-Libal and husband Rick of Jacksonville, FL.; son, Scott Galaway of Houston; grandsons, Austin Libal and wife Nicole of Jacksonville, FL., and John Galaway of Houston; sister, Patty Toland of Mildred; brothers, Robert Singleton and wife Martha of Mildred and Johnny Singleton and wife Elizabeth of Rising Star; brother-in-law, Eddie Galaway and wife Lou Ann of Leonard; sister-in-law, Ann Harkins and husband Art of Mineola; numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Daniel Dawson and the Rev. Jim Anderson officiating. Interment will follow in the Providence Cemetery.

Bonnie Jean (Lewis) Ybarra

Bonnie Ybarra, 59, of Eureka, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, December 28, 2014, after a courageous battle with colon cancer.

Bonnie Jean Ybarra was born in West Columbia, Texas, on June 13, 1955 to Vernie Eugene Lewis and Doris Vivian (McKnight) Lewis. Bonnie was a homemaker and a good mother to her daughter, Nicky. She loved to be outside, whether it was gardening in her flower garden, or fishing at the lake. She loved spending time with her family, particularly her grandson, Jesse. He meant the world to her. Bonnie also enjoyed painting and continued having creative ideas for it, including the day before she died. She had a very close bond with her mother, whom she loved very much, and her mother cared for her to the end. Bonnie especially loved her Lord. She is not suffering anymore and is now in Heaven with her daughter, Nicky. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Bonnie is survived by her mother, Doris Vivian Lewis; her sisters:
Deborah Owens and her husband, William D. Owens; and Rebecca Jo Gonzales and her husband, Mark; her brothers: David E. Lewis Sr.; and Timothy M.
Lewis, all of Eureka; her grandson: Jesse D. Brown, of Corsicana; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, and her daughter, Stephanie Nicole �Nicky� Brown.

A graveside service will be held for both Bonnie and her daughter, Nicky, at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 24, 2015, at Hopewell Cemetery in Navarro County.

Bonnie Jean Ybarra, 59, of Corsicana passed away on Sunday, Dec. 28, 2014 at her residence in Corsicana. Services are pending at this time with Corley Funeral Home.

Bonnie Jean (Gullett) Lane
May 29, 1935 - Nov 19, 2014

Jean was born on May 29, 1935 to Leon and Clessie Gullett in Whitesboro, Texas. She entered her Heavenly home on November 19, 2014, surrounded by her husband, daughters, grandchildren, and siblings.

Jean's early life was one of many hardships. She worked in cotton fields with her parents and siblings. In 1951 she married Tom Burleson and had a daughter. The marriage was ill-fated, so Jean had to raise her daughter alone. In 1955 her father was killed in an automobile accident and Jean was left to support her mother and sisters. She worked at K Wolens and walked to work every day from the Northwest Apartments.

In 1955 she married the man who would be the love of her life, Dale Lane. Together they added 4 daughters to the family. Jean was a devoted mother and wife, always putting her family before her own needs. She was a Christian woman and raised her daughters to be Christian women. She taught them the basics of being a good wife and mother by example and providing "hands on" experience.
Jean loved sewing and doing crafts. She made dolls for all her girls and crocheted beanies for the new grandchildren. For 10 years she made pillows and pillow cases for women who were diagnosed with breast cancer and donated them to the American Cancer Society.

She was active in the Shady Grove Baptist Church, serving as a teacher, secretary, and deacon's wife. Her greatest joy was to have her family in church with her on special occasions.

Jean was a great cook. Her peach cobblers brought over one hundred dollars at charity auctions. She could turn the most meager ingredients into something special.

Jean is preceded in death by her parents, her in-laws, Pete and Nora Lane, and step-sister, Billie Posey. She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Dickey Miller, Kay and Randy Arp, Brenda and Charles Lowe, Sheri and Jerry Collier, and Autumn and Andy Cox. She also leaves behind sisters Joyce Bruton and Pat Dunklin, brother Leroy Gullett, half brother and sister Bill Gullett and Inez Scott, and step-sister, Carolyn Pillow. She also leaves behind an "adopted by love" daughter, Diane Ivie. She has twelve grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren and a great granddaughter on the way. She also leaves a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pall bearers are grandsons, Richard Miller, Eric Arp, Mike Reeder, Steven Collier, Brandon Long, and Jason Cox. Honorary pall bearers are Tanner Kidd, Kevin Driggars, Chris White, and Jeremy Mint.

Visitation will be from 2:00-4:00 pm Sunday, November 23rd at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Service will be from 2:00 pm at the Shady Grove Baptist Church on FM 642 with Bro. Brian Upchurch officiating. Burial will follow at New Pursley Cemetery.

Doris Pearl Carpenter, resident of Mildred, passed away at her residence on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at the age of 73. She was born in Navarro County on February 14, 1941 to George L. York and Glendolyn Prickett York. She owned and operated a retail shop in Corsicana and a janitorial service. She enjoyed being outdoors hunting and fishing.

Doris is preceded in death by her parents George and Glendolyn York; her brothers, Jodi York, A. J. York, Willis York, Odell York, George L. York Jr. and Wendell York; sister, Catherine Schultz. She is survived by her husband Cecil Preston "Buddy" Carpenter of Mildred; children, Ernest Carpenter and wife Debra of Eureka, Kathy Young and husband Jimmy of Mildred, Pansy Hoogstra and husband Richard of Sherman, Cecil Carpenter and Rachael Wilson of Mildred, Angel Carpenter of Mildred and Lee Carpenter and wife Carolyn of Jacksonville, TX. She is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Saturday, November 29, 2014 from 9am - 10am in the Chapel at Griffin - Roughton Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 10am in the Chapel with Bro. Clyde Franks officiating and Randy McCain singing "Old Rugged Cross", "Just a Closer Walk with Thee" and "Will the Circle be Unbroken". Burial will follow at Providence Cemetery in MIldred. Thomas Reid Haynes Sr.
Feb 28, 1953 - Dec 10, 2014

Thomas Reid Haynes, Sr. was born February 28, 1953 in Big Spring, Texas to J.E. Haynes and Jessie Evelyn Reid. He was the 4th child of 5 born to his parents. Tom did most of his growing up in Crane, Texas and in May of 1971 he married Tanna Sue Rogers there. To them were born 4 children; son, Thomas Reid Haynes, Jr., daughter, Heather Cherie Haynes, son, Terrance Ryan Haynes and son Justin Bradley Haynes.

He was from the class of 1971 Crane High School. He acquired his EMT certification there in the late 1970's and also began training for his pilot license. In 1981 he moved to Ft. Worth to attend Overcoming Faith Bible Training Center under Dr. Jerry Savelle.

He loved his Lord and his family deeply. He was always ready to give an encouraging word to friends who were down. He never meet a stranger. He had a big heart for helping people and tho he didn't accomplish everything he wanted to, his glass was never empty, it was always at least half full and he believed there was always something good just around the next bend. He grew up fishing with his dad and liked fishing with friends when he could. He had a rock 'n roll band in high school, but later sang country and gospel music. One of his favorites was "Little Boy From The Carpenter Shop" to him that said it all.

He was Paw Paw to 11 grandchildren; Joshua Luke Haynes, Trenton Bryan Haynes, Cheyenne Bailey Haynes, Angelina Nicole Haynes, Jessie Makayla Haynes, Rebekah Lucille Haynes, Tanna Elizabeth Haynes, Tessa Rose Haynes, Jonah Braelyn Haynes, Malachi Haynes and Elise Teagan Haynes.

He received his healing from his many physical battles on Dec.10, 2014 and moved from Huguley Hospital in Tarrant County to Heaven. Leaving behind a whole host of friends and family that love him and miss him greatly, but knowing we will all be together again. We are assured he was greeted by his mom and dad and that he is counting his role as Paw Paw to 5 little baby grands that were also waiting there to meet him. He is survived by his wife, Tanna of Burleson; sons, Tom Jr and wife Amber Haynes of Spring Hill, TN, Terrance Haynes of Burleson, Brad and wife Shannon Haynes of Crowley; daughter, Heather Haynes of Burleson and 11 grands and one to be born in February.

She is survived by her daughter, Lori Massey of Corsicana and great nephew Joseph Lee Ritter (of whom she cared and raised as a son); brother, Gary Lee Ritter of Corsicana; sister, Mary Townsend and husband Jeff of Colorado Springs; nephews, Sean Ritter and wife Samantha of Corsicana, Ryan Townsend, Derek Townsend and Mark Townsend all of Colorado; great nephew, Sean Edward Ritter of Corsicana, and extended family member Wanda Davis and husband Jerry.

She will be long remembered by family and friends alike for her heart-warming smile and wonderful sense of humor.

Bobby Capps, 70, passed away Saturday, Nov. 22, 2014, in Corsicana.

Bobby was born in Okemah, Oklahoma, on Jan. 10, 1944, to Normal and Ruby (Sizemore) Capps. He grew up in Oklahoma City and graduated from Mid West City High School in 1963. On Nov. 22, 1961, he married Carol Ford and they made their home in Amarillo; Wichita, Kansas; and after that to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Bobby served his country proudly in the United States Air Force as an Inventory Clerk.

He worked as a Mason and Bricklayer for over 10 years and was ranch manager of Char-Lin Ranch for 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion of Corsicana.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Normal and Ruby Capps; and one nephew, Shannon Hefner.

He is survived by his wife, Carol Capps; four daughters, Pennie Dziuk and husband Greg, Theresa Brewer, Lisa Allen and husband Doug, and Robin Green; eight grandchildren: 16 great-grandchildren; three brothers, Jimmy Capps and wife Darlene, Donnie Capps and wife Janie, and Rodney McDowell and wife Gina; and two sisters, Norma Hefner and husband Joe, and Sue Pig.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

Mr. Billy B. Batton, age 80, of Corsicana passed away on Monday, November 17, 2014 at his residence. He was born February 20, 1934 in Emmett, Texas to Easton B. Batton and Alma Lucille King Batton.

Billy was a beloved teacher, and administrator for the Mildred Independent School District. He devoted his life to educating and mentoring the youth of Navarro County. Billy spent much time with, and adored his canine companions; Bayle and Chelsea.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his wife, Jane and children; Lisa and Jonathan.

Cremation is under the direction of Corley Funeral Home. A memorial service is pending at this time.

Larry Wayne Hickey, age 48, of Frost was called to be with the Lord on Friday, November 14, 2014 at Navarro Regional Hospital in Corsicana. He was born on May 19, 1966 in Abilene, Texas to Paul Hickey and Judy Cleo Woodard Hickey.

Larry lived in Frost, Texas with friends, Carl and Michelle Thormann and their daughters; Allysann and Kymberlee. He loved coaching baseball and football and being around the ones he loved. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his mother, Judy Perry; sister, Kathy Tibbets; brothers, James Perry and Jimmy Duffy; nephews, James Allen, Christopher Langford and Landen Perry.

She married James Edward Simington on May 7, 1934 in Tishomingo, Oklahoma. They had four sons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Edward Simington; sons, James Martin, Malcolm Harvey and Donald Edward; and two grandchildren, Rhonda Simington and Wayne Simington.

James Randall "Randy" Cummins

Randy Cummins passed away Wednesday, Feb. 18, 2015 at his home in Corsicana.
Randy loved to laugh. He loved God and his wife and family. He was smart, competitive, warm, and witty and loved being home, and having family and friends come over. Through the years he had to be gone so much because of his chosen career as an Oil and Gas Landman. When he got home he wanted to stay home. His last years were so blessed by being able to do just that and enjoy his family.
On April 6, 1954 Randy was born to Rosa Wear Cummins and James E. Cummins in Corsicana. He graduated from Corsicana High School in 1972 and graduated from Texas A&M University in 1976 with a degree in Agricultural Economics. After he graduated he took a job in Mississippi with Mississippi Chemical. During that time he met and married his soulmate, Kay Smith on June 11, 1977. They moved back to Texas in 1978 and made their home and raised their family in Corsicana.
Randy and Kay have two much loved daughters, Jill Cummins Ephlin and husband, Morgan of Chatfield, and Shelley Cummins Golden and husband Jordan of Corsicana. He was so proud of these two young women and the people they grew up to be. They were his daughters and also his friends who spent many times playing games, and talking about everything from religion to politics together. There are several things he wanted to instill in his daughters: to know Jesus Christ, to get an education, to know the importance of honesty, integrity and kindness in life and to live by the Golden Rule. He succeeded in doing this in all areas.
Randy was a member of First Baptist Church of Corsicana. He served as a Sunday School teacher in Special Ministries for many years and always had a soft spot in his heart for them. He was a certified petroleum landman and was well-known throughout Texas for his knowledge and expertise in this area.
Having grandchildren was one of his greatest joys in life. The last nine and one-half years Randy being PopPop to his two granddaughters, Kendal (Ephlin) and Kate (Golden) and one grandson, Knox (Golden) was a source of great love and enjoyment. He spent time playing Wi and reading to them, hunting four-leaf clovers, making playhouses out of big boxes, watching Family Feud, Chuggington and Paw Patrol, teaching them things and doing anything they wanted to do while just being together.
He loved playing golf at the Oaks with many golfing buddies. Many a time he would say, �it isn�t about the game, it�s about just being together and having fun.� One may dispute that because you never met someone who hated to lose at golf or any game more than Randy. He loved to talk smack and was good at it. He always loved a good joke. He made many lifelong friendships on the golf course.
In addition to his wife and parents, survivors include one brother, Roddy Cummins and wife Connie of Sunnyvale, Texas, one sister, Cheri and husband Glenn of Albuquerque, New Mexico, step-mother Helga Cummins, mother and father-in-law, Nell and Rayford Smith of Fayette, Mississippi, sister and brothers-in-laws Sheila and Butch Emfinger and Lynda and John Purser of Meadville, Mississippi, and brother and sister-in-law Ray and Julie Smith of Fayette, Mississippi, uncle and aunt Richard and Joan Cummins, and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Pallbearers will be Eddie Gregory, Chuck Williams, Charlie Williams, Jack Coggins, Ricky Hickson, Phil Golden, Ed Ephlin and Garry Rhodes.

Weldon C. Miller, 92 of Corsicana, passed away Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born on Aug. 1, 1923, in Crosbyton, Texas.
Weldon retired from being a truck driver and then worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter and never met a stranger. He enjoyed many trips to the Waffle House and visiting with friends and family. Weldon loved everyone he met and was an avid animal lover.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Eunice Miller; and daughters, Danna Kay Lamb and Jan Salinas.
Survivors include his son, Clayton Miller and wife Shelli of New Braunfels; grandchildren, Terry Lamb of Dallas, April Cooke and husband Kevin of Biloxi, Mississippi, Hagen Miller and Colton Miller of New Braunfels, Chase Miller of Corsicana; and great-grandchildren, Sierra Frazier, Tristen Frazier and Skyleigh Cooke all of Biloxi, Mississippi.

Someone once said �A truly blessed life is a life spent blessing other people,� which perfectly describes the life of Mrs. Joy Williamson that began on the 29th day of July in 1928 in Taylor, Texas to James Henry and Frances Dora White Wallace. She entered the presence of her Lord on Friday, Feb. 20, 2015, at Heritage Oaks Retirement Village in Corsicana.
She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She graduated from Taylor High School, and later attended Mary Hardin Baylor College in Waco and Southwest Texas State Teachers College in San Marcos. She and her husband were members of First Baptist Church in Taylor for many years, where she was the church organist for 30 years. They later moved to Corsicana to join First Baptist Church, where she was the organist here for 35 years. She played the organ for the funeral homes in Taylor for many years, and was the organist for Corley Funeral Home in Corsicana for 40-plus years. Her whole life�s mission was to serve the Lord in whatever capacity she was serving in at the time. She was a very unselfish loving person, and will be greatly missed by all who know and loved her.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Williamson; parents, James Henry and Frances Dora Wallace; brother, Hubert Wallace and his wife, Lorraine Wallace.

E. C. Barber, 85 of Whitney, passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM, Friday, March 6, 2015, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors in Whitney, with Chaplain Debbie Keele officiating. Burial will follow at Dresden Cemetery in Navarro County. Visitation will be held from Noon until 1:00 PM prior to the service.

E.C. was born on September 17, 1929, in Lancaster, to Edward Cleveland and Martha Elizabeth (Bass) Barber. On June 1, 1974, he married Ann Murphy and she preceded him in death on May 6, 1989. He served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict.

He began work at Ford Motor Plant in Dallas and later worked for Safeway as a truck driver for approximately 30 years. A driving instructor for MTS in Waxahachie, he also worked for Morgan Trucks in Corsicana before retiring in 2002.

Before moving to Whitney, he lived in Navarro County from 1976 until 2002. Enjoying the outdoors, he especially liked going to the lake and boating as well as taking long drives and watching western movies. He always enjoyed tinkering and working on a lawnmower or tractor.

Preceding him in death were his parents; son-in-law, Danny Higginbotham; three sisters and a brother.

Survivors include his children, Carolyn Higginbotham of Whitney, Brad Barber and wife, Tammy of Brookhaven, Mississippi, Jackie Cross and husband, Al Meissier of Newark, and Djuna Bourland and husband, Patrick of Martin�s Mill; twelve grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

John Herbert Seydler, born Nov. 17, 1954 in Boulder, Colorado went to the arms of his Savior Feb. 27, 2015 in Irving, Texas.

John was a loving and generous husband, soulmate, brother, father and "pappy". Musician, videographer, builder with an artist's soul, a loyal and true friend to so many. He was always ready to lend a hand, his house or his van to those in need. He was a learner, seeker, struggler, survivor, believer-- explorer, adventurer, lover and tender caretaker of animals and all the small creatures that fascinated him. His eye was for beauty--shapes, light, colors and sounds of all that surrounded us. He rode the highs of life with gusto and plowed through the lows with his best effort. There were many glorious highs.

He loved the mountains and longed to return to Colorado but he learned to appreciate the expanse and peace of the ocean and stuck it out it Texas.

A bit eccentric, John could be intense and overwhelming at times but his fun loving spirit, deep compassion, crazy sense of humor and quick wit covered many faults. He had found a place of peace, renewed spiritual life and faith, and positive expectation of the future.

He is survived by his companion and wife Karen Cangemi Seydler, ex-wife Jeanne Seydler, daughter Rebekah Loftus , granddaughter Hannah Foster, brother Karl Seydler and sister Mary Erickson of Parker,Colorado. As well as Leroy, Linus, Puff and many friends and colleagues that will miss him much.

The family will receive friends at the West/Hurtt Funeral Home on Friday - March 06, 2015 from 10:00 A.M. until 11:00 A.M. at which time the Funeral Service will begin in the Chapel of West/Hurtt Funeral Home.

Mary Ellen Flarity, age 83, of Mexia passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Mexia Long Term Care Facility. She was born on November 25,
1931 in Mountain Home, Arkansas to Willis Eden and Willie Sue Wilson.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents.

She is survived by her sister, Alice Sue Wilson of Corsicana, and brothers; Raymond R. Wilson of Kaufman and Richard M. Wilson of Louisiana.

No formal services are planned at this time. Mary Ellen is being cremated under the direction of Corley Funeral Home.

G.W. Atkerson, owner of Fisherman�s Point Marina and the Lighthouse Caf�, passed away on Sunday, Feb., 23, 2015, in Streetman.

G.W. was born on Jan. 5, 1943, in San Antonio. He grew up in Dallas and graduated from South Oak Cliff High School where he was active in the a cappella choir. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps and attended Tyler Junior College and Sul Ross State University in Alpine. He was instrumental in the development of University Computing Company (UCC) and assisted in marketing and sales for a number of corporations. For the past 25-plus years he was self-employed and owned a number of businesses, including Fisherman�s Point Marina and Resort.

G.W. was preceded in death by his father, Gurlon Wesley Atkerson, and his mother, Joan McElroy.

Survivors include his stepfather, James W. McElroy; his wife, Dorothea Atkerson; his son, Eric Atkerson; stepdaughters, Lynn Phillips and Michelle Waldroup; his sister, Aurelia Drake; grandchildren, Claire and Raymond Atkerson; and numerous nephews, nieces and in-laws.

G.W.�s generous spirit and warm hospitality will be greatly missed by his family and the entire community.

Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Fairfield.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015, at New Hope Baptist Church in Streetman. Interment will immediately follow at St. Elmo Cemetery adjacent to the church.

Johnetta Moore of Mesquite, Texas passed away peacefully the morning of March 1, 2015 surrounded by her loving family. She was born on July 13, 1945 in Emory, Texas to John and Ortha Ralston and was preceded in death by her father, a brother Roger Ralston and her beloved husband, Gene Moore in 2011.

A wonderful mother and devoted wife, Johnetta enjoyed everything about her family and delighted in spending time with them. She loved to cook for family and friends and holiday get-togethers were made special with her tasty Beef Tenderloin and other of her well-known and extraordinary dishes. In that she considered every time shared with loved ones very important, her dinners were served on the best china with elegant glassware so that she had a chance to show them how truly important they were to her. Time with family also meant time playing games such as 42, dominoes and other card games but she was renowned for being the �champion� shuffleboard player . As devoted as Johnetta was to her children, she found her true calling when she became a grandmother. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life and she was protective and loyal to them. Her love for them was so great, she utilized Facebook to keep up with them and make sure that they knew everyday how much she loved them and was proud of the young adults they had become. Her generous heart enabled her to help others in any way that she could whether it be with food she cooked, items she could provide or financial assistance. She embodied the true servant�s spirit in that she made sure others were taken care of before herself. Later in life, Johnetta enjoyed the solitude of sitting on her front porch watching deer and squirrels and being thankful for her life�s blessings. A lady in every sense of the word, Johnetta will be greatly missed by her family and they will treasure the legacy she leaves for them.


Johnetta is survived by her mother: Ortha Burran and step father Elvis of Levelland, TX; son: Ricky Carpenter and wife Kay of Forney, Texas, a daughter: Johnna Bohannon and husband John of Lantana, Texas, grandchildren: Tiffany Carpenter and Neal Bohannon, great grandchild Brenden Carpenter and she was very excited about a great graddaughter Peyton who is expected to arrive in April; siblings: Betty Brinkley and husband Bill of Forney, Texas; Cynthia Blazer and husband David of Houston, Texas; Rusty Burran and wife Sharon of Bridgeport, Texas; Deborah Whisner and husband Charlie of Odessa, Texas as well as a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends who will cherish her memory

Funeral service will be at 10:30am, Friday, March 6, 2015 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with interment at 1:00p.m, Friday at Dresden Cemetery, outside of Corsicana. Mrs. Linda Gevance Williams was born June 27, 1960, in Lubbock. She entered into eternal rest Feb. 18, 2015, at her home in DeSoto.

Linda received her formal education through the Lubbock Independent School District. She lived in the Corsicana area before moving to DeSoto.

Linda was preceded in death by her mother, Arelene Kurney; father, James Howard Odgen Sr.; sister, Glenda Jo Bender; brothers, James Howard Odgen Jr. and Robert Carl Kurney.

Survivors include her husband, Rudolph Williams; son, Craig Bender; daughter, Christi Bender; grandchildren; one sister, Desi A. Odgen; and brother, William H. Kurney (Billie) of Corsicana.

Visitation will be noon to 6 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015, at M.R. Smith Parlor for Funerals Chapel.

Marsha Kay Bowman, born Nov. 10, 1954 in Bonham, Texas, passed away Monday, Feb. 23, 2015 in Corsicana.

She was a kind, loving, giving daughter, sister, and aunt with a heart of gold. She will be deeply missed and greatly remembered.

Kay was preceded in death by her father, J.L Bowman; mother, Betty Ann Curtis and husband Thomas (Butch) Curtis; sister, Tammy Bowman-Turney; and sister-in-law, Jodi Wilson.

She is survived by her step-mother, Charlene Bowman; siblings, Jackie Lynn Wilson, James Bowman and wife Francis, Jefferey Lee Turner, Annette McFadden and husband Ricky, Billie Jean Heard; many nieces, nephews and many more great nieces and nephews.

Kay was a Collector of angels and now she is one.

Billy Joe Wright passed away at the age of 78 on Sunday March 1, 2015 in Corsicana, Texas, with his loving wife Jean by his side.

Bill was born on January 31, 1937 to Marion and Velma Green Wright in Blackwell, Oklahoma. He attended Blackwell schools. Bill proudly served his country in the United States Air Force from 1955-1959.

Bill is survived by his wife of 32 years, Jean; children, Michael and Jill Wright of Moreland, OK, Lewis Wright of Kerens, TX, Dana and Jon Glidden of McKinney, TX, Danny Wright of Ft. Worth, TX and Tammy and John Scrogum of Blackwell, OK; step-children, George, Dodi, Jessie, Casey, Karl and Jeanie; brother, Jimmy Lee and Sue Wright of Ranger, TX and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Lewis Allen Wright and sister Patricia Wright Moses.

James Wynne Jr., 73 of Corsicana, passed away at his residence Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. James was born April 5, 1941 in Huntsville, Texas and was reared by Roy Blaine and Alter Lee Blaine. He received his formal education at the G. W. Jackson School District and united with the Thirteenth Avenue Christian Church. He met and married Joan McConnell. He loved driving trucks and his employment included the Best Way Transport of Palmer and Corsicana Bedding of Corsicana.

James was preceded in death by his parents; son, Andrae Ford and daughter, Terry Stewart, and sister, Barbara Mason.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joan Wynne of Corsicana; his children, Variel Cooksey of Teague, Byron Harvey, Terry Harvey, Maggie Hauseman, and Sarah Corrigan all of Corsicana, Stephanie Johnson of Italy, Erica Wynne of Shreveport, Louisiana, Brandy Paynter, Matthew Beattie and Christopher LaLonde all of Florida, Amy McConnell and Terry Fellows both of North Carolina, Sterling Johnson of Rice, James Johnson of Barry, Tanisha Mason of Hillsboro, Megan Beattie of Angus; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.

Melinda �Lindy� Denise Broxson of Irving passed away Friday evening, Feb. 27, 2015, at Medical City in Dallas, following a valiant, intense five-month battle with Leukemia. She was 32 years old.

Lindy was born July 27, 1982, to Evelyn Lipscomb Broxson and Don Broxson. She attended Mildred ISD, graduating with the class of 2000.  She received an Associates degree from Navarro College and a Bachelor�s degree from The University of Texas at Arlington. Lindy was passionate about music and singing from a young age and was frequently requested to sing at public events.

The world has lost a talented, loving, and devoted daughter, sister, aunt, niece, cousin, friend and fianc�e. Her generous heart and optimism will be missed by the many people she has touched during her fleeting yet rich life. Lindy will be remembered for her contagious smile, beautiful soul and innumerable graces.

Lindy is survived by her parents Evelyn Broxson of Eureka, and Don and Janet Broxson of Navarro Mills; brother Donnie Broxson and his partner Todd Nguyen, brother Matthew Broxson, his wife Tiffany and daughter, Tatum; her step-siblings Kimberly and husband Jacob Eldridge, Gerald Clore, Jr., and Bobby Clore; her fianc�e, Scott Hancock; as well as many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, extended family and devoted friends.

Lindy�s brave fight with cancer, her loving gestures and keenly positive attitude brought many more friends and admirers into her life over the past few months. She considers her caregivers and fellow patients as family. Her impact has been felt globally, with condolences pouring in from six continents.

Graveside service will be held at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 7, 2015 at Eureka Cemetery in Eureka, led by Tony Neal and Benny Cook, followed by a celebration of her life at the residence of Evelyn Broxson.  Pallbearers for the service will be Ashley Lamb, Kim Eldridge, Scott Hancock, Justin Berry, Todd Nguyen, Gerald Clore, Jr., Donnie Broxson, and Matthew Broxson.

Josephine Dorothy Fialho passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015, at age 93.
Jo was born March 19, 1921 in Caroline County, Virginia, one of eight children of the late John Michaliga and Theresa Knizacki. In 1939, she graduated from C.T. Smith High School in Ladysmith, Virginia. She met Manuel Francis Fialho while he was stationed at Camp A. P. Hill in Virginia, and they were married on Dec. 21, 1944. Manuel preceded her in death in 1963, in Fort Worth.
Jo was a certified audiologist with Dickey Hearing Aid for many years and later with Jones Hearing Aid until her retirement in 1996. For over 40 years she was an active member of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic church.
Jo was preceded in death by her siblings and longtime companion, C. J. �Bocky� Faulkner.
Survivors include Vincent Fialho and wife, Kathryn, Dorothy Fialho and husband, Ted Murphy, Michael Fialho and wife, Katherine, Mary Smith and husband, Fred and John Fialho and wife, Carolyn; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
A rosary will begin at 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Thompson's Harveson & Cole Funeral Home in Fort Worth, followed by a visitation until 5 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 2, 2015 at St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church in Fort Worth. Interment will be at 1 p.m. at Calvary Catholic Cemetery in Corsicana.

Dan M. Meador, 87, of Corsicana passed away Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015 , surrounded by his family at his home for the last three years, Heritage Oaks West in Corsicana. Dan fought a valiant battle with Alzheimer's disease and Melanoma cancer.
Dan was preceded in death by his parents, John Douglas Meador and Roxie Annie Wooten Meador; brother Barney Meador and one infant sister, Wanda Meador.
Dan is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Mary Rhodes Meador of Corsicana, brother Clayton Meador of Angleton, Texas; son Dale Meador and wife Barbara of Corsicana; son Larry Meador and wife Debbie of Corsicana; three grandchildren, Joshua Meador of Corsicana, Ashley Meador and great-grandson Jude of Corsicana, and Marina Meador of Bosqueville, Texas. Dan is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Dan was born Feb. 22, 1928 at Phillips Chapel, just east of Corsicana, attended school in Emhouse and began working on the farm at an early age. In his latter teen years, he worked with Henry Slate Grocery in Corsicana until he was drafted into the Army in May of 1946. During his tour of military duty in Tokyo, Japan, Dan was a member of the Elite Tribunal Military Police Detachment, 8th Cavalry Regiment that was charged with the security of the Japanese Hierarchy during their War Crime trials in Tokyo. He was also an M-1 sharpshooter. Dan received the World War II Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. He was honorably discharged in June 1947.
Upon his return home, Dan was married to Mary Alice Rhodes on Aug. 29, 1949. He was a supervisor for Manor Bread Company in Dallas and later was with Chattanooga Glass Company in Corsicana for 23 years. Dan was a diligent worker in all that he did and was known to work 32-hour straight shifts at Chattanooga Glass in the 60's and 70's. He held the record there for most hours worked, 104 hours in one week.
Dan worked hard because he loved his family and made sure that they were taken care of in every aspect of life. He was an excellent role model and led by example.
Dan enjoyed playing golf, baseball, and going hunting in his younger years. In his most recent years, he enjoyed beating his sons at dominoes. His favorite hobby was selling Knapp shoes to his many friends and acquaintances.
Most importantly, Dan believed and trusted in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, was baptized at age 33, and was a Deacon and longtime member at Cedar Creek Missionary Baptist Church near his home in Retreat. During Dan's life, he followed Christ's example. He loved his fellow man, was kind to all, and would do anything to help others and those in need. He was a very pleasant man to be around, and was always thankful for the Lord's blessings.
Dan was thankful and appreciative of the staff at Heritage Oaks West, Gentiva Hospice, and especially to the nurses that cared for him and showed their love for him and his family through their professionalism and personal kindness.
Memorial services will be 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home in Corsicana with graveside services at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Retreat. Pallbearers will be Reggie Farmer, Joey Gilmore, J.V. Lewis, Dale Meador, Larry Meador, and Josh Meador. Brother Tim Easley will preside.

Otto Allen Baker

Otto Baker, 90, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2015 at Twilight Nursing Home in Corsicana, Texas. He was born June 14, 1924 in Corbet, Texas.
He was an entrepreneur and local businessman, who loved to work his entire life. He owned and operated National Incinerator for 32 years and various other businesses. He finally retired in 2013 and became a deacon at Harmony Ministries. He traveled to 32 countries and enjoyed spending time with his family. To all that met him knew he was a kind and most generous soul. He never met a stranger and opened his home and heart to everyone. He touched the lives of many people and will be missed greatly.
He was preceded in death by his son, Johnny Baker; parents; and his brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Glenna Baker; sons, Jackie Baker and wife Lee, Montie Hilburn and wife Barbara, Lowell Hilburn and wife Nora, and Ernest Hilburn and wife Christi; 11 grandchildren, multiple great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Visitation with the family will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Corley Funeral Home.

Sarah Ann North passed away peacefully at her home Thursday, Feb. 19, 2015, in the evening. She was surrounded by her beloved husband Jerry and her family after a long illness. Sarah was born Sept. 25, 1936 in Alice, Texas to father James A. Cagle, a local carpenter, and mother Lera Ozell Ramage Cagle, a homemaker.

Known to most as �Sarah Ann,� she never slowed down, never stopped, and always gave all of herself to anyone in need.

Sarah is survived by her husband of 39 years, Jerry C. North, daughter Juanita Bell of Garland, son Richard and wife Melinda Greene of Cleburne, daughter Belinda and husband Norris Nettleton of Chauvin, Louisana, stepchildren Linda Hull of Uncertain, Texas, Billy Greene of Sumter, South Carolina, Jerry David and wife Julie North of Lone Oak, Texas, Gary North of Garland, Larry North of Holland, Michigan, Cheri North of Holland, Michigan, and Terri Kenemer of Zeeland, Michigan. She is also survived by grandchildren Joe �Smokey,� Crystal, Kevin, Tracy, Nori, Michael, Jeremy, Clayton, Jerry �Bear,� Jennifer, Sam, Chad, Daniel, Arron and Erica; and 20 great-grandchildren; brother Jerry A.

Stanley �Curly� Calame, 73, of Dallas, formerly of Corsicana, passed away at his residence on Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015. He was born June 15,
1941 in Mexia to Cleo and Louetta Ilene Ingram Calame.

Curly worked for Chattanooga Glass Company for 18 years and then went on to work for Navarro County, precinct 4 for a number of years until he retired at age 62. Curly looked forward to his gardening but mostly enjoyed relaxing with his friends and family. He will be truly missed by all.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine; parents and sisters; Oudia Jonell Calame Lamb and Lisa Diane Calame.

Mr. Calame is survived by his children; Stanley Wayne Calame, Jr. of Richardson, Christi Calame Porter of Waxahachie, and Adam Calame of McKinney. He is also survived by six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren and sister, Mickie Calame King of Round Rock, and brother, Starley Calame of Tehuacana and several nieces and nephews. .

Visitation with the family will be 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Corley Funeral Home Chapel.

Elinor Elizabeth Elliott Seago passed peacefully into heavenly eternity at her home in Buda Tuesday, Feb. 24, 2015 surrounded by family. She was born in Dallas, Texas on Dec. 16, 1929 to John W. and Bertha Speegle Elliott and grew up with her older brother John and younger sisters Jo Ann and Ernestine in Barry, Texas until she married Robert S. Pollock and they began their lives together in Corsicana where they were blessed with their son Larry Don.
Later in 1960 Elinor married Howard Eugene Seago, a Baptist minister and they pastored several churches in Texas over the next years until he passed away in Houston in 1999. Elinor and sister Jo Ann relocated from Houston to Buda in 2009 following Hurricane Ike. They became active members in the First Baptist Church of Buda, welcomed into the congregation.
Elinor loved to garden and all plants and flowers flourished with her magic touch. She also loved to travel and visited many family members in their homes from California to Cape Cod and even as far as England. Elinor loved to see all the sights and experiences encountered in her travels. One of Elinor's biggest joys was spending time with her grandson, Elliott L. Pollock.
Elinor is survived by her son and his wife, Larry and Robin of Austin, grandson, Elliott Pollock of Oakland, California and Jo Ann Sikes of Buda, numerous loving nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and nephews, all of whom will miss her dearly.
Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at Harrell's Funeral Home in Kyle.
A memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at First Baptist Church of Buda. Internment will follow at 4 p.m. in Corsicana at Oakwood Cemetery on 15th Street.

Argie Shirline (Johnson) Garland

Argie Shirline Garland, 60, entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, Feb. 25, 2015. She was born in Mexia Jan. 25, 1955 daughter of Hattie Mae �Judy� Johnson and Argie �AJ� Johnson.
Shirline was a �what you see is what you get� kind of person. She never sugar-coated much; so if she called you a friend you were truly a friend.
She was very talented. She played the piano, organ and accordion beautifully. She loved working crossword puzzles and drinking Dr. Pepper. When the electronic age came into play Facebook was her favorite place to go because she loved all the games it had to offer, 42 Dominoes being one of her favorites. You had to be good to beat her. Shirline was a very intelligent person, reading from a sixth grade geography book when she was only 4 years old. She even helped her older sister with homework!
She loved her family; she was generous and would give of herself, time and money even when she had very little herself.
She was a typical big sister also. She took great pleasure in aggravating her little sister over the years, telling her that she had a �crooked face� and that �she was adopted.� She still needed her Mama, calling her for advice or when she was sick and from time to time just to pray with her. Shirline loved the Lord. She adored her children and grandchildren; she cared for them and did for them unconditionally. Her grandchildren called her Nana and loved being with her.
Along with her sister, Gail, she was an unfinished life � Gone too Soon � and we will miss her terribly. She was preceded in death by her father.
She is survived by her husband, Sidney Garland of Corsicana; daughters, Ondrea Northern and husband Lance of Wortham and Tonya Doyle of Corsicana; son, Kinon Prewitt of Corsicana; mother, Hattie Mae �Judy� Johnson of Corsicana; sisters, Frances Richardson of Goldthwaite and Kim Vasquez of Corsicana; her stepchildren, Tracy Garland of Hillsboro, Stacy Miller and husband Clifton of Blooming Grove, and Chris Garland of Corsicana; her grandchildren, Warren, Kelsie, Jarod, Brandon, Tatum, Cadence, Jonathon, Jacob, Joshua Joseph, Taylor and Kylie; five great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a close friend, Cathy Mighton of Corsicana.
Visitation with the family was held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27, 2015 at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28, 2015 at the Corley Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Gary W. Johnson and the Rev. Anthony Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in the Oakwood Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to any Suicide Prevention Organization of your choice.

Beverly Rhea (Wilson) Ford

Beverly Rhea Ford of Corsicana passed away Tuesday evening, March 3, 2015 with her family at her side at the age of 69. She was born April 30, 1945 in Bowie, Texas to Raymond and Marie Wilson. Beverly married the love of her life July, 31, 1964, Bobby Glenn Ford.
Beverly enjoyed quilting and collecting vintage feed sacks. She was very dedicated to her church at Northside Baptist for 50 years. She sang in the choir and Trio, taught Sunday School Classes, and volunteered in the Care Center. She had a passion for helping others. She worked as a Secretary/ Book keeper working for many over the years. She also was on the Corsicana Clean Up Committee.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Bobby Glenn Ford of Corsicana; daughter Michelle Coker and husband Jay of Mildred; son Glenn Ford and wife Grace of Corsicana and their daughter Samantha; son James Ford of Austin and his son Skylar Capone-Ford. She is also survived by her sisters Gloria Hamilton of Bowie, Marita Nichols of Flint; mother-in-law Wilma Ford of Bowie and best friend Linda Cutrer, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 5, 2015 at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home.
Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday, March 6, 2015 at Northside Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Lamb officiating. Pallbearers will be Jeremy Tipton, Richie Cutrer, Richard Cutrer, Rusty Hitt, Billy Graves, and Jim Hodge. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Armstrong and Jimmy D. Coker. Burial will follow at Oakwood Cemetery.

Sue Hensey (Melton) died peacefully January 18, 2015 at her home in Huntsville, Texas at the age of 74. She is survived by her husband Fred, a brother Robert Melton, Jo, of Blooming Grove Texas, Step children, Brett (Susan) Hensey of Laguna Beach, CA, Nikki (Jim) Lind of Northville, Ml, Kurtis Hensey of Wilmington, DE, Kenneth (Lynn) Hensey of Rehoboth Beach De and nine step grandchildren located across the country.

Sue was born on December 22, 1940 in Houston TX, the daughter of Edward and Laura Melton. She graduated from Sunset High School, Dallas, TX, where she was active in the Methodist Youth program. Later she moved to Houston where she owned and operated Axcell's Beauty Salon for 22 years.

Sue was fourth generation Texan and a true Texan is every sense of the word. Her word was her bond and of her many friends over her life span she never lost a friend. She was known to be a very competitive lady and always strived for perfection no matter the endeavor. After she married Fred, he introduced her to the game of golf. She immediately became completely absorbed with game and sold her salon so she could devote more time to her game. When she resumed playing bridge in the later years, the same intensity she had in golf followed her to the bridge table.

A celebration of Sue's life will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, January 22, 2015 at the First United Methodist Church located 1016 Sam Houston Ave., Huntsville, TX. Bishop (ret.) Ben Chamness will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in her honor to the American Cancer Society
or the Wounded Warriors Project. A special thanks to THEE Hospice for their loving and professional care.

Rev. W. B. (Bill) Carraway, 89, of Houston, Texas died peacefully on February 4, 2015 from complications associated with Alzheimer's disease. W.B., a Baptist minister, sailor, author and publisher, was known fondly as a devout Christian, dedicated family man, and a lover of music, laughter and adventure.
He was born on December 8, 1925 in Blooming Grove, Texas to the late H.B. Carraway and Geneva Carraway Ross Stanley. Siblings include Harold, Jay, Robert, and Dorothy Nell, all deceased. Youngest sister Neva Blair lives in Amarillo, foster sisters June Heath Castle Morris and Elizabeth (Sugar) Carraway live in Garland. He is preceded in death by his loving wife, Belva June Combs Carraway, who passed in 1983 at age 55; and by his second wife Ann Johnson Carraway who passed in 2005 at age 88.
W.B. held degrees from Jacksonville Junior College, Henderson State Teachers College and Dallas Theological Seminary. He served bravely in the Navy in the Pacific theater aboard the U.S.S. Cascade during World War II. He retired in June of 1991 at age 65, after 45 years as a Baptist minister serving as pastor at 14 churches in Texas.
In his book, W.B. wrote, "I often told my wife that the best four day's work we ever did was when we had our four children. Each and all have blessed my life ten thousand fold." He is survived by children Ronnie Carraway of Longview, Rebecca McDermott of Houston, Diane Carraway Piette of Buzzards Bay, Mass., and predeceased by eldest son Donnie Carraway of Texarkana. He is also survived by six grandchildren: Bryan Paul Carraway of Virginia Beach, Va.; Meghan McDermott of Staten Island N.Y.; Patrick McDermott of Schenectady, N.Y.; Colleen McDermott of Austin; Jacquelyn Piette of Vancouver, B.C., Canada; and Marissa Piette of Washington, D.C.; and four great-grandchildren: Anakin, Nyah, Alden and Asher Carraway of Virginia Beach, Va.
W. B.'s hobbies included guitar, scrapbooking, traveling, and golf. Of his many interests, W.B. was perhaps most passionate about music. In his words, he became "somewhat of a celebrity" in his adolescence at the Texas Baptist Orphanage in Waxahachie, Texas, as a member of a quartet that was well known across the state. He also sang in a Navy quartet during his years of service. Later in life, he enjoyed performing the electric guitar for his children and grandchildren.
Pallbearers for his service will be; Ronald Carraway, Edward Piette, Dan McDermott and Keith Blair. Services will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at East Funeral Home-Downtown in Texarkana, Tx with his grandson Bryan Paul Carraway officiating. He will be interred following the service at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens in Texarkana next to his wife, Belva June under the direction of East Funeral Home-Downtown.

Donna Kay (Workman) Lemons
May 2, 1950 - Dec 14, 2014

Donna Workman-Lemons 64, of Lubbock, died Sunday, Dec. 14, 2014 at her nieces� home in Lubbock. She was born to Norris Sherman and Syble Fern (Hightower) Workman at Blooming Grove, Texas. She attended school at Frost and in 1960 the family moved to Post. She attended school in Tahoka and later obtained her GED from Post schools. Donna worked at the Postex Cotton Mill, The Ranch Burger in Lubbock, Auto Zone and later for the Security Bank in Ralls. She lived at Fluvanna for many years. Her love was her family, friends and her collection of bears. Donna is preceded in death by her parents, a brother: Randy Workman and sister: Christie Ann Martin. She was a member of the Northside Baptist Church of Abernathy.

Survivors include, her spouse, Hurston �Buck� Lemons of Fluvanna; one brother, Gary Workman of Post; three sisters, Sherry and Billy Meurer, Ila Workman and Tena Hughes, all of Lubbock. Donna is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great nephews. Lifetime friend Brenda Mason also survives Donna.

Services were Wednesday, Dec. 17, 2014 at 11 a.m. in the First Baptist Church of Post, with the Rev. Joel Perez, Pastor of the Northside Baptist Church of Abernathy officiating. Burial followed at the Terrace Cemetery. Arrangements were under the personal care of Dee and Janet Justice, Justice- Mason Funeral Home.

Pallbearers were: Roger Daugherty, Caleb Needham, Rusty Workman, Boady Hand, Chad Williams, and Shorty Martin. Honorary Pallbearers were: Ronnie Bridges, Cody Ferguson, Brandon English, Travis Martin and Lonnie Gene Peel.

The family met friends at the funeral home Monday, Dec. 15, 2014, from 6-7 p.m.

Funeral Services for Frances Ludean West of Conroe, Texas will be held on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at 4:00 P.M. in The Chapel at Conroe Funeral Directors. Graveside services will be held on the following Monday (July 28, 2014) at 2:00 P.M. at Little Hope Cemetery in Winnsboro, Texas with Pastor Donny Chamberlin officiating. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 23, 2014 from 5:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at Conroe Funeral Directors in Conroe, Texas. Mrs. West was born on March 15, 1932 in Blooming Grove, Texas, but was raised in Ennis, Texas. She passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 19, 2014 in The Woodlands, Texas at the age of 82. Frances and her late husband, Jack West owned and operated A-Conroe Bail in Conroe for over 15 years together before retiring. After retirement they moved to their ranch in Winnsboro, Texas to live by her family. Frances was an amazing woman who was genuinely kind in every way and had a huge heart. Frances� house was always filled with laughter among her loving family and friends. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Joyann Wright and her husband, Jack West. Frances is survived by her loving family: Daughters, Jodean McCarty, Jacqueline West and Janan Bell and husband, William Anderson; brother, Wayne Prine and brother-in-law, Dale Ditmore; cousin, Bud Bowers; grandchildren, Johnny, Sherrie, Jerry, Gerald, Kimberly, Jay, Brian, William and Jennifer; 23 great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; numerous other dear relatives and friends also survive.
