Biography at Austin Gallery
(Texan, 1913- 1984): "Chrisman began painting when he returned to Texas, after
his military service in WWII. He was an established doctor when he began
painting, and traded medical services for art lessons with Porfirio Salinas. His
paintings depict the beautiful Texas Hill Country. The late President Lyndon B.
Johnson ordered thirty paintings one year to be given as Christmas gifts from
the White House. His art is displayed in both private and public collections
around the country." |
