BAGGETT, BILLIE E.
Pvt. Billie E. Baggett, son of Will and Otto Baggett.  Married to the former Irene Davis of Blooming Grove.  Entered service April 6, 1944.  His military occupation was Cook's Helper.  He participated in the Rhineland battle.  Victory Medal.  Discharged November 20, 1945.

BAIN, TOLBERT E., JR.
A.M.M. 3/C Tolbert E. Bain, son of Mr. and Mrs. Tolbert E. Bain, Sr. of Mexia, and husband of the former Louise Stevenson of Frost. Graduated from Mexia High School and attended Texas A & I, Kingsville.  Inducted in to the service in 1942, training at Norman, Okla and San Diego, Calif.  Served aboard the ship Ommaney Bay.  Discharged March 15, 1946.
BAKER, CHARLES K.
Lt. Col. Charles K. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Baker, Graduate of Blooming Grove High School and Texas A. & M.  Entered the U.S. Army July 6, 1942, as 2nd Lt. in Quartermaster Corps.  Served in European area 30 months.  Received Bronze Star, European Theater Medal with 3 Battle Stars.

BAKER, CLAUDE A.
Sgt. Claude A. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Baker, Kerens.  A native of Corsicana, he entered the U.S. Army Air Force, Transport Service Command, in October 1941.  Sent overseas November 7, 1944.  Stationed in the China-Burma-India Theater of Operations.  Married to Fern Baker of Wortham, Texas.
BAKER, LAWRENCE E.
Pfc. Lawrence E. Baker, son of Mrs. Hassie Wadley, Corsicana.  Attended G. W. Jackson High School, Corsicana.  Entered service October 20, 1943.  Served with Q. M. Truck Co. Eastern Indian Air Depot, India.
BAKER, OLLIE
S/Sgt. Ollie Baker, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward Baker.  Entered the U.S. Army in 1942, training at Camp Polk, Louisiana.  Went to Calcutta, India.
BALDRIDGE, DOYLE M.
Lt. Cmdr. Doyle M. Baldridge, son of Rev. and Mrs. J. H. Baldridge, Corsicana.  Graduate of University of Texas, Austin.  Married the former Margaret Gandy, Gatesville.  Entered service in April 1942.  Served 18 months at Pearl Harbor on the Staff of Commandant for air and ship movements in the Pacific area.  Also stationed at the Naval Air Base, Pensacola, Florida.
BANKS, JOE L.
Pvt. Joe L. Banks, son of Geneva Banks of Kerens.  Husband of the former Lillian Taylor.  Attended Richland School.  Entered the Army Eng. Co. in 1942, training at Camp Gordon, Georgia, and Camp Butner, N.C.  Served in England, France, and Germany.  Has Good Conduct Badge.
BARBER, BUFORD EDWARD
S 1/C Buford Edward Barber, son of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Cidney Barber.  Entered service May 1944, serving with the U.S. Navy Sea Bees.  Served in the South Pacific.  Discharged in 1947.

Phillip (Bill) Barham, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. W. Barham of Blooming Grove.  Husband of the former Euell Morris.  Attended Blooming Grove School.  Entered the U.S. Air Force in 1942.  Trained at Sheppard AFB and Randolph Field, San Antonio.  Went to Rantool, Illinois and served in the States for duration of the war.

Pfc. Phillip P. Barham, son of Mrs. Elizabeth Barham of Blooming Grove.  Attended school in Blooming Grove.  Joined the U.S. Army doing patrol duty aboard.  Then chose to re-enlist.

BARNES, JAMES W.
S/Sgt. James W. Barnes, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. T. Barnes.  Married the former Gladys M. Hardin.  Entered service August 1, 1940, training with the 12th Cavalry Regiment, 1st Cavalry Division, Brownsville, Texas and El Paso, Texas.  Served with the 18th Cavalry Recon.  Squadron in the European Theater.
BARNETT, WILLIE ROBERT
Pfc. Willie Robert Barnett, son of Mr. and Mrs. June Barnett.  Attended Odessa School.  Entered service in September 1942, training at Camp Bowie, Texas.  Served with the 85th FA Bn. 5th Army in Italy.
BARRY, PAT
Pat Barry, graduate of Blooming Grove High School, entered the U.S. Army in 1942.  A member of Unit 5-2, Section 1st Bn. of the 143rd Infantry, 36th Division.  Saw active service in 7 major campaigns and 2 invasions in Italy and France.  Received Bronze Star and Cluster.

BARTLETT, ROGER FROST, JR.
Major Roger Frost Bartlett, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. R. F. Bartlett, Sr. of Rice.  Husband of the former Dorothy Loop.  Graduate of Rice High School and Texas A. & M.  Entered service in 1941.  Served at Campbell, Kentucky, Camp Chaffee, Ark. and in Europe.  Received Bronze Medal.
BELL, GREGORY
T/4 Gregory Bell, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. F. Bell of Rice.  Entered service February 1941, serving with the Inf. 36th Div. Co. D. Medical Bat.  Served and trained at Wm. Beaumont Gen. Hospital, El Paso, TX, in  Ala., Georgia, Virginia, North and South Carolina, Algeria and Morocco.  Made invasion of South France to Rhine at Munchen, and on to Bad Tolz near Munich.  Received 7 Combat Stars and Spearhead for D-Day invasion.

BENNETT, PAUL M.
Lt. Col. Paul M. Bennett, son of Drewer B. and Louise Palmer Bennett.  Married to the former Doris Fowler of Temple.  Graduate of Waxahachie High School and Texas A. & M.  Entered service January 19, 1943, serving in combat in Italy with 86th Mountain Inf., a regiment of the 10th Mountain Div. Served as Platoon Leader and Co. Cmdr. Wounded in 1945 and awarded the Purple Heart and Bronze Star Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Infantryman's Badge with Star, Meritorious Service Medal.

BENTON, CLIFTON G.
Pvt. Clifton G. Benton, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. G. Benton, graduated from Emhouse High School.  Entered the Air Force in April 1942, training at Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls, Texas and Harding Field, Baton Rouge, Louisiana.  Attached to the 859th Guard Squadron.  Deceased Aug 27, 1981.

Pfc. Hartridge Ivy Benton, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Benton, Frost, and husband of the former Doris Stage of California.  Attended Frost School.  Entered service in the Air Corps in 1941, training at Camp Kearns, Utah, and Pinedale, California.  Served in the South Pacific with the Air Transport Command.  Stationed at Manila in the Philippines.  Honorably discharged in 1946.
BENTON, JAMES CURTIS
T/5 James Curtis Benton, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. J. Benton, Frost.  Husband of the former Eleanor Cox.  Attended Frost School.  Entered service January 4, 1944, training at Fort Sam Houston, Texas.  Spent 20 months in European Theater of Operations in France and Germany.  His Battalion received Meritorious Service Plaque for Superior Performance of duty.  Honorably discharged April 13. 1946.
