BRYANT, FOREST L.
S/Sgt. Forest L. Bryant, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Bryant, entered the Army Reserves in 1943, training at Camp Maxey. Engineer training at Oklahoma A&M. Served in 4 Major battles. Has Unit Citation. Now on duty in Germany.

S 2/C Clyde M. Bryant, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Bryant, wife is the former Minnie Sue Boyd.  Attended Corsicana High School.  Entered service 1944.  Trained with Navy at San Diego.  Served in Philippines and on Iwo Jima.  Now on duty in Pacific.  Has 3 Battle Stars.

Bryant, son of Mr. and Mrs. Alex Bryant, Blooming Grove.  Wife is the former Fabris Sykes.  Attended Blooming Grove High School and Draghan's Business College.  Entered service July 1942, training with Navy at San Bruno and Shoemaker, Calif.  Served overseas and is now on duty in Okinawa.

Cpl. Elmer E. Bryant, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Bryant, attended Corsicana High School.  Entered service 1942.  Trained with Marines at San Diego, Calif.  Served at Saipan, Guam.  Now on duty in Calif.  Has ribbon and battle stars.

BRYANT, OTIS G.
Capt. Otis G. Bryant entered the Army July, 1941, training at Camp Wolters. Commissioned at Ft. Benning, Ga. Served overseas in 1943. Engages in invasion, 3 major battles. Now on duty near Paris, France.

BRYANT, DOYLE A.
T/Sgt. Doyle A. Bryant, brother of C. O. Bryant, Corsicana, attended school in Ardmore, Okla.  Entered the Army in 1941, training with 90th Infantry division at Camp Barkley.  Served in France, Belgium, and Germany.  Wears 5 Bronze Stars.  Now on duty at Amberg, Germany.

  • Probably same as Doyal A. Bryant (Jan 12, 1907 - Mar 4, 1980) bur Crinerville Cemetery, Brock CO., OK
BRYANT, HAROLD
S 1/C Harold Bryant, son of Mr. and Mrs. H. J. Bryant.  Attended Corsicana High School.  Entered the Navy in 1945, training at Great Lakes where he is now on duty.
BRYSON, MAURICE
Pfc. Marice Bryson, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. T. Bryson of Corsicana, entered the Army June 1943, training at Amarillo, and Gulfport, Miss.  Served in England with Air Force Ground Crew.  Later transferred to the 253rd Infantry and served in two major battles in Germany.

BUCKALEW, JOE ALLAN
Pvt. Joe Allan Buckalew, son of Mrs. D. D. Sawyer, entered service 1943, training with Marines at San Diego, Calif.  Served on Midway and was wounded on Okinawa where is is now on duty.

BUCKALEW, BILLY RAY
S 1/C Billy Ray Buckalew, son of Mrs. D. D. Sawyer, attended Dawson School.  Entered service 1944, training in the Navy at San Diego, Calif.  Served at Okinawa and Philippines.  Now on board ship.

  • s/o Ira Cornelius Buckalew & Josephine (Hendrick) Buckalew-Sawyer   ( Josephine's second husband was Dempsey Dewitt Sawyer -  (1867-1953); they appear on the 1950 Census in Dawson, Navarro Co., TX).   Josephine is buried in the Coolidge Cemetery, Coolidge, Limestone Co., TX next to her 1st Husband, Ira Buckalew.

Cpl. Weldon B. Buchanan, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. J. Buchanan, Blooming Grove.  Wife, the former Lola Joyce Finch.  Attended Corsicana Schools.  Entered service, 1942.  Trained with Air Corps at Casper, Wyoming.  Now on duty in England.

SAD 2/C Samuel B. Buchanan, son of Mrs. Elizabeth A. Buchanan.  Attended Corsicana High School.  Entered service 1943. Trained with the Navy Reserves at Ft. Worth, Texas, Chicago University, Athens, Ga. Now at Gainesville, Ga.

T/5 Weldon B. Buchanan, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. L. Buchanan.  Wife, the former Lola Joyce Finch.  Attended school at Corsicana.  Entered service, 1942.  Trained with the Air Corps at Casper Wyoming.  Served in England and is now on duty in Germany.

BULLOCK, ODIS W.
S/Sgt. Odis W. Bullock, son of Mrs. J. E. Bullock, Corsicana.  Attended Richland Schools.  Entered service 1942.  Trained with the Army at Camp Wolters, Camp Gruber, Norfolk, Va., La., and Ft. Sam Houston.  Served in North Africa, Italy, Germany.  Is now on duty in France.  Wounded in Italy, 1944.  Has Purple Heart.

S 2/C Travis Franklin Bullock, son of Mrs. J. E. Bullock, Corsicana.  Wife the former Frances Carrell.  Entered service, 1943.  Trained with the Navy at San Diego, and Norman, Okla.  Now on duty at Navy Air Base in San Ysidro, Calif.
BUNCH, C. HOUSTON
S/Sgt. C. Houston Bunch, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. L. Bunch, husband of the former Allie Mae Shipp.  Graduate of Corsicana Schools.  Entered service, 1942.  Trained with the Marines at A&M. College.  Served in Pacific.  Has three Battle Stars.
BUNCH, REUBEN R.
Storekeeper 3/C Ruben R. Bunch, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bunch.  Wife, the former Lota Ferguson.  Graduate of Corsicana High School.  Entered service, 1943.  Trained with the Navy at Camp Perry.  Discharged 1943.

Cpl. Tommie H. Burden, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Burden, Kerens.  Attended Mill Run and Kerens School.  Entered the Army Jan., 1943.  Trained in Anti-Aircraft at Camp Stewart, Ga., Calif., New Jersey, Mass.  Served in ETO campaigns.  Now on duty at Munich Germany.  Awarded Rifle, Good Conduct and Battle Stars.
BURDEN, AFRED F. J.
Pfc. Alfred F. J. Burden, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. B. Burden, Kerens, attended Mill Run and Kerens School.  Entered the Army Nov., 1943, training at Camp Fannin, Tex.  Now on duty in Philippines.  Awarded Rifle, Good Conduct Medals, Paratrooper WIngs.
