T/5 Thomas A. Champion, son of Mrs. Mamie Champion, attended Emhouse Schools.  Entered service in 1943, training in Tank Corps at Ft. Lewis, Ft. Knox.  Served in Holland, England, Belgium, France and Germany where he is now on duty.  Has Good Conduct Ribbon.
CHAMPION, WILLIS T.
T/Sgt. Willis T. Champion, son of Mrs. Mamie Champion, and husband of former Mary M. Love, graduated from Emhouse High School.  Entered the Air Corps 1940, training at Ft. Sill, Okla., Harlingen and Georgia.  Served in New Guinea.  Now on duty in Philippines.  Has Good Conduct Medal.

S 1/C George D. Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Chapman, attended Blooming Grove Schools. Entered the Navy 1943, training at Farragut, Idaho. Served in Guam, Okinawa, Leyte, Saian, Palau and Luzon. Is now on duty in the Pacific.

Sgt. William C. Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Chapman, attended Purdon Schools. Entered the Army 1940, training at Ft. Ord. Killed 1941 in accident at Ft. Ord.

Pfc. Alphonso P. Chapman, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. A. P. Chapman, Sr. Wife is the former Joyce York. Attended Emmett Schools. Entered service 1943, training at Camp Wheeler. Served in England and France. Was killed in action. Sept. 19, 1944 in France. Combat Inf. Badge and Purple Heart.

S 1/C Frank V. Chapman, son of Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chapman, husband of former Mildred L. McGinnis.  Graduated from Hubbard High School.  Entered the Navy in 1943, training at San Diego, Calif. Served in the Philippines.  Received discharge in 1945.

AOM 2/C George H. Chase, son of Mr. and Mrs. D. H. Chase.  Wife is the former Lota Monroe.  Graduate of Rice High School.  Entered the Navy in 1942, training at San Diego, Memphis.  Instructed at Corpus Christi.  Now on duty at South Pacific.  Has 5 Bronze Stars.
CHAVOYA, HENRY C.
S/Sgt, Henry C. Chavoya, son of Mr. and Mrs. T. C. Chavoya, wife is the former Beatrice Gonzales.  Graduated from Tech. High School, Dallas, Texas.  Entered the Army 1942, training at Camp Sutton, N.C. Camp Davis, N.C. Camp Polk, La., and Camp Pickett, Va.  Served in Bermuda, N. Africa, and Italy where he is now on duty.
CHENEY, R. HOOD, JR.
Major R. Hood Cheney Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. Hood Cheney, Sr., graduate of Corsicana High School and Southern Methodist University.  Entered the Air Corps 1941, training at Santa Maria, Calif., Randolph and Kelly Field, Matagorda Isle and Fla.  Served overseas with 8th Air Force as pilot of P-51.  Now on duty as Squadron Commander in England.  Air Medal with 11 Clusters.
CHERRY, ERNEST E.
S/Sgt. Ernest E. Cherry, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. R. Cherry, attended Corsicana School.  Entered the Marines in 1941, training at San Diego.  Served in Midway and is now on duty in Philippines.  Has Presidential Citation and 4 Battle Stars.

Pvt. Colonel G. Cherry, son of Mr. and Mrs. Derwood Cherry, formerly of Kerens, attended Long Prairie School.  Entered Army Dec 22, 1944, trained at Camp Hood, Now on duty in Philippine Islands.
CHILDERS, JESSE E.
S/Sgt. Jesse E. Childers, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Childers, husband of the former Miss Doris Wilson, graduate of Corsicana High School.  Entered service 1940, trained with Army at Camp Bowie, Camp Blanding, Camp Edwards. Has served in Africa, Italy, France, Germany and Australia, now has a discharge.  Has Combat Infantry Badge, 5 Battle Stars, Arrowhead, ETO Ribbon, Pre-Pearl Harbor Ribbon and Good Conduct Medal.

Childers, husband of the former Miss Jane Barber, attended, Corsicana High School.  Entered service 1944, trained with Navy at Camp Wallace, and Gulfport.  Has served aboard USS Goldsborouth in the Pacific.  Has 2 Battle Stars, American Theater Ribbon and Asiatic-Pacific Ribbon.
CHILDERS, ROBERT E.
Cpl. Robert (Chili) Childers, son of Mr. and Mrs.. F. H. Childers, Port Arthur, graduated from Kerens High School, 1942.  Enlisted in the Army, 1944, trained at Ft. Sill, Ft. Benning, and Ft. Geo. Meade.  Sent overseas in 1945, served in Belgium and Germany, now enroute to Pacific, with the Hqd. Btry., 18th Corps A.B. Arty.
CHILDERS, BILLIE W.
1st Sgt. Billie W. Childers, son of Mr. and Mrs. F. H. Childers, formerly of Kerens, Texas, husband of the former Miss Ruby Summers, graduated from Kerens High School.  Mobilized with 36th Div. November, 1940, trained at Camp Bowie, Camp Edwards, Mass.  Engaged in N. Africa-ETO Campaigns.  Honorably discharged June, 1945.  Awarded ETO Ribbon with 5 Battle Stars.  American Def. Ribbon, and other Honors.
CHIRAFIS, JOHNNY M.
S/Sgt. Johnny M. Chirafis, son of Mr. and Mrs. Steve Chirafis, Corsicana, graduate of Corsicana and University of Texas.  Entered service, 1943, trained with Infantry at Little Rock.  Has served at N. Africa and Sicily, wounded, 1944, now a Patient at Beaumont General Hospital.  Has ETO Ribbon, Purple Heart, Silver Star, Oak Leaf Cluster and Battle Stars.

Cpl. James W. Christie, son of Mrs. Alma Christie, husband of the former Miss Anita Slade.  Corsicana.  Entered Army Air Corps in 1942, trained at Waco Army Air Field, completed Airplane Mechanics.  School in 1943 at Gulfport, Miss.  Now on duty overseas.

S/Sgt. Wilburn Chrisman, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Chrisman, Kerens, husband of the former Miss Juba Hollinsworth, graduate of Kerens High School and Tyler Com. College.  Entered the Army Feb. 18, 1941, trained at Camp Livingston, La., and Ft. Belvoir, Va.  Has served on New Guinea and Netherland East Indies, now on duty with Hdqrs.  Det at Manila in Philippine Is.
CHRISMAN, HAROLD B.
Pvt. Harold B. Chrisman, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. A. Chrisman, Kerens, graduated from Powell High School.  Entered Army Dec. 6, 1944, trained at Camp Wolters and Ft. Geo. W. Meade, Md. Now on duty at Cebu in the Philippines Is.
