KENNEMORE THOMAS EDWARD SR., age 76 of Heath, TX passed away February15, 2002. He was born July 1925, in Corsicana, TX to David and Zema May Kennemore. Mr. Kennemore served in the U.S. Marines during WWII. He worked as an operator for the Dallas Public Water Utilities for 33 years until his retirement. Mr. Kennemore and his wife built their own home in Heath, TX, where they lived for 33 years. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Heath for 26 years, where he was part of the "Wild Bunch." He and his wife Doris, enjoyed sharing great times with the Rolling Sams of Kaufman Travel Club. Mr. Kennemore is survived by his wife; Doris Kennemore of Heath; sons: Tom Kennemore, Jr. & wife Lydia of Grand Prairie, and Larry Rodgers of Houston; daughter Linda Aultman of Dallas; 2 sisters: Ann Merrell of Burkburnett, TX, and Claudine Farmer & husband James of Austin; brother: Jerry Kennemore & wife Mary of Corsicana; grandchildren: Misty and Brian Wilson of Cooper, Mike Aultman of Memphis, TN, and Steve Aultman & wife April of Grapevine; and great grandchildren; Rainy, Alex, and Courtney. He was preceded in death by his parents and by 2 sisters: Pauline Kennemore and Doris Gay. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm, Monday, February 18, 2002, at the First

Oct 10, 1879 - Feb 26, 1960 MRS. GUSSIE CHAUNCEY CORSICANA, Texas (Sp) - Mrs. Gussie Sims Chauncey, 80, died at the family home in Hubbard Friday. Funeral services were held at the Hubbard Methodist Church Sunday with burial in Oakwood cemetery here. A native of Navarro Mills, she resided at Wichita Falls and Dawson before moving to Hubbard three years ago. Surviving are her husband Judge W. B. Chauncey, Hubbard, a son, Dr. Fred AQ. Walker, Farmington, Mo.; two grandchildren and four sisters.

Mrs. Gussie Sims Chauncey, 80, wife of W. B. Chauncey, died at the family home in Hubbard Friday afternoon.
Funeral services will be held from the First Methodist church of
Hubbard Sunday at 2:30 p.m. with burial in Oakwood cemetery in
Corsicana.
The rites will be conducted by Dr. D. L. McCree, superintendent of the Corsicana Methodist district; Rev. W. L. Sanders, pastor of the
First Methodist church of Dawson, and Rev. Sam Cluck, pastor of the First Baptist church of Hubbard.
A native of Navarro Mills, Mrs. Chauncey resided in Wichita Falls, but spent most of her life in Dawson. The family moved to a farm
north of Hubbard three years ago and several months ago moved to Hubbard.
Surviving are her husband of Hubbard, two grandchildren, a son, Dr. Fred A. Walker, Farmington, Mo.; four sisters, Mrs. Annie Lowrimore,
Mrs. Freddie Robinson, Mrs. Emma Lancaster, all of Dawson, and Mrs. Aubie Price, Coleman, and other relatives.

She was born on Aug. 23, 1925 in Roan, Texas. She resided in Dallas until moving to Garland, TX in 1976, where she was a member of South Garland Baptist Church. One of the first women manager's for SWBT, she retired from there in 1975 after 32 years of service. She then
partnershiped with her husband to manage their upholstery business. "Johnny's Fabrics." She was greatly loved & will be missed by her family and a host of treasured friends who knew her as a great lady for her caring and compassionate nature, her great generosity and her great sense of style & elegance. Mr. Boone was born Nov. 26, 1927 in Hubbard. He lived most of his life there, but did spend several years in California. He was a veteran of
World War II, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Boone was a life member of Hubbard VFD Post No. 9849, West VFW Post No. 4819, and American Legion Post No. 569. He was very interested in the City of Hubbard and its affairs. He was a retired farmer and rancher and was a member of a pioneer Hubbard family. Mr. Boone is a member of Saint Alban's Episcopal Church. U.S. Navy. He retired from the Los Angeles Sheriff's Department and was formerly employed by the Navarro County Sheriff's Department. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gartha Sam Martin and Georgia Cooley Martin. Survivors include his daughters, Kesha Martin and Charese Martin and one granddaughter, all of Los Angeles, Calif.; aunts, Dora Ross and Sadie Andrews, both of Corsicana, and Lula Brown of Los Angeles, Calif.; and several cousins and friends. Aug 2, 1910 - Feb 22, 2002 Services for James M. Finley Sr., 91, of Trinidad were held 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2002, in First United Methodist Church, Trinidad, with the Rev. Elizabeth Bear officiating.
Burial was in Trinidad Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens. Mr. Finley died Feb. 19 in Corsicana hospital. He was born Aug. 2, 1910, in Frankston to the late Robert Lee and Anna Morris Finley. He had resided in Trinidad 42 years and was a member of First United Methodist Church in Trinidad. He was employed 17 years with Vickery and Company Wholesale Flooring in Houston, retiring in 1968 as Vice President. He was a World War II veteran of the United States Army. Preceding him in death were his wife, Ruth Finley in 1983, three brothers and three sisters. Survivors include a son, James M. Finley Jr. of Dallas; daughter, Margaret Ann Green of Trinidad; brother, Robert Finley of Gainesville; grandson, Stephen Blake Burkhalter and his wife, Amanda, of Trinidad; great-grandson, Dalton Reade Burkhalter. Pallbearers include Tom Keener, Stephen Burkhalter, Clayton Duke, Jim Arnold, John Arnold, and Herman Wright. Honorary pallbearers are Robert Finley, Alfred Williams, R.H. Edwards, and Earl Yates. Victor Truman Lewis
Sep 27, 1914 - Feb 18, 2002 Victor Truman Lewis passed away Monday, Feb. 18, at his long-time home in Malakoff at the age of 87. He was born Sept. 27, 1914, in Cross Roads and grew up in the Order of Odd Fellows children's home in Corsicana. He graduated from East Texas State College in Commerce with a Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics and a Master's Degree in history. He was a Lieutenant (air navigator) in the U.S. Navy during World War II flying in PBY and PBM patrol aircraft over the Gulf of Mexico and Caribbean. He retired in 1974 as head of the History Department at Henderson County Junior College where he was also a former football coach. In his "retired" years, he found time to write the book "Domino Games," was an avid golfer, worked to establish the Henderson County Junior College ex-student's foundation, was a world traveler, and actively persued cattle ranching. In addition, he was a founding member of the national Zane Grey
Society. Mr. Lewis was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Tyndall and Maggie Gardner Lewis, brothers Ray Anders, Carl, Grady, Lloyd, and Clyde Lewis, and sisters Era Smith, Oma harder, Mary Williams, Opal Robertson and Grace Fenner. He is survived by his wife of 61 years Fay Riddlesperger Lewis, son Don Lewis and daughters and son-in-laws Vicki and Art Simon of League City and Ralinda and Wayne White of Mabank; 10 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a host of friends. Visitation will be Thursday evening from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Tomlinson Funeral Home in Malakoff, and funeral services will be held at the Malakoff Methodist Church at 2 p.m. Friday, with internment to follow at the Malakoff City Cemetery. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, and was a charter member of the couples Sunday school class. She loved to play bridge, and she loved her family. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Barney Wray, Bundy Wray and L. T. Wray; parents, Lynn and Jessie Mae Wray; and granddaughter, Jennifer Elaine Turner. Survivors include her husband of 61 years, Bill Turner of Corsicana; son and daughter-in-law, William R. and Gloria Turner of Corsicana; daughter and son-in-law, Christy and Darrell Welch of Corsicana; grandsons, Zack Carver and wife Amanda of Barry and Kalen Welch of Corsicana; granddaughter, Lea Dominy and husband Wes of Corsicana; great-grandsons, Mikey Carver of Barry, Collin Dominy and Russell Turner, both of Corsicana; and great-granddaughter, Shae Turner of Corsicana; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Services will be 2 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with the Revs. Teri Hildebrand, Tommy Raley and G. W. French officiating. Interment will follow at Brushie Prairie Cemetery. Pallbearers will be grandsons Mark Shows, Lowell Thompson, Darrell Thompson, Brent Thompson, John Lawhon, Colt Lawhon, Toby Lawhon, Michael Don Raley, Eric Raley, Timothy Raley and Jeff Raley. Mr. Raley was born Aug. 11, 1911 in Frost to Monroe Raley and Alice Priddy Raley. He was a retired farmer and rancher. He was also a barn man for Jess Young Auction Barn. He served in the United States Army Air Force in World War II in England. He was a member of Emhouse United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his son, Mike Raley; five brothers and one sister. Survivors include his wife, Pauline Raley of Corsicana; sons, James Raley of Emhouse and Benny Raley of Huntsville; daughters, Barbara Shows of Nacogdoches, Paulette Thompson and Brenda Lawhon, both of Corsicana; 18 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Dec 24, 1959 - Mar 3, 2002 3/4/2002 Corsicana man dies in one-vehicle rollover From Staff Reports A Corsicana man died from injuries sustained in a one-vehicle rollover early Sunday morning on Interstate 45 south of town. The 1998 Ford Explorer Jeffrey J. Dewar, 42, was driving flipped about 1:20 a.m. at the 222 milepost, according to Texas Department of Public Safety reports. Dewar was ejected from the vehicle, and a witness said he observed an unknown dark colored pickup strike the body in the roadway, the report said. Trooper Dane Baker investigated the accident, with help from troopers John Cabano and James Pamplin, and the Corsicana Police Department, Angus Volunteer Fire Department and Corsicana Emergency Corps. Precinct 1 Justice of the Peace Wanda Hartley held the inquest into the death. The roadway was dry and weather conditions were clear, cold but very windy, according to the report. The DPS said the vehicle was traveling southbound when it drove off the roadway to the right, started to skid sideways and across both southbound lanes of travel. The Explorer flipped onto the passenger side and into the center median. It continued to flip several times, entering the northbound lane, and came to a rest after Dewar was ejected, according to the report. ----------- Jeffery J. Dewar Jeffery J. Interment will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery in Tunkhannock, Pa. Mr. Dewar was born Dec. 24, 1959 in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich. to Harry B. Dewar and Helen Lundy Dewar. He was a project engineer.
