Donnie Wayne Chasteen Donnie Wayne Chasteen, 57, of Hubbard passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2003 at his residence after a courageous battle with cancer. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Wade Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Wade Funeral Chapel with the Rev. James Hooper officiating. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hubbard. Pallbearers will be Steve Weatherby, Mike Henthorne, Ed Sellers, Eddie Ray Lehman, Doug Lenox, Charles Margaret, Les Farmer and Heath Chasteen. Honorary pallbearers will be Charlie Dudik and Will Geltmeier. Mr. Chasteen was born Aug. 17, 1945 in Brushie Prairie and had lived in the Dawson and Hubbard area all his life. He was a graduate of Dawson High School and a member of First Baptist Church of Hubbard. Mr. Chasteen was a truck driver for Central Freight for 19 years and had most recently worked for Hill County Precinct 3. He was an Army veteran having served in Vietnam. He married Linda Lee Graham June 18, 1967 in Dawson. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Perry and Gladys Pearl Chasteen; son, Michael Paul Graham in 1999; and brother, Luther Ivy. Survivors include his wife, Linda Lee Graham Chasteen of Hubbard; son, Donald Wayne Chasteen and wife Shelley of Hubbard; daughters, Donna Lynn Richardson of Hubbard and Lynnette Lee Payne and husband Brian of Penelope; daughter-in-law, Denise Marie Graham of Axtell; brothers, Ronnie Dwayne Chasteen of Teague and William Perry "Pete" Chasteen of Dawson; sisters, Roxie Jordan of Teague and Patsy Honza of Bardwell; grandchildren, Morgan Lee Richardson, Zachary Tyler Richardson, Netty LeeAnn Payne, EmaLee Brean Payne, Kristina Marie Graham, Leslee Rebekah Payne and Rickey Wayne Chasteen; niece, Robin Elizabeth Daniell of Wortham; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Etta Mae (Ralston) Forville Etta Mae Forville Etta Mae Forville, 68, of Corsicana passed away Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2003, in Corsicana. No local services are planned. Mrs. Forville was born Feb. 27, 1934, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a loving mother who dedicated her whole life to her children who loved her dearly. Her presence will be missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Lawrence Forville; father, Harold E. Ralston; and brother, Raymond Ralston. Survivors include her mother, Etta E. Graveside services will follow at 3 p.m. Saturday at Eureka Cemetery in Navarro County. Mrs. Lincoln was born Aug. 19, 1925 in Dallas to Edward E. and Mabel A. Oman Robinson. She was a 1942 graduate of Adamson High School in Dallas. She married Roy E. Lincoln in 1945. She had been employed at Federal Reserve Bank in Dallas, Publishers Guild, South Oak Cliff State Bank and Dallas Commercial Warehouse, retiring in 1994 when she moved to the Golden Haven Apartments in Temple. She was a former member of Oak Cliff Christian Church, South Cliff Christian Church and South Oak Cliff American Legion. She enjoyed Texas road trips to see wildflowers, fishing, oil painting, music, reading, pet cats and dogs, and wildlife where she hand fed whitetail deer. She was preceded in death by her parents; and brothers, Arthur Robinson and James Robinson. She was a lifelong resident of Dawson and worked as a registered nurse for over 30 years. She had worked for the old P&S Hospital in Corsicana, Dr. A. Grizzaffi, the Head Start program in Corsicana, and the Hubbard Hospital before retiring. She was a member of the Methodist church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herbert J. Danford in 1981. Jessie McDade Sr. Jessie McDade Sr., 89, of Corsicana passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2003, at Navarro Regional Hospital. Services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Open Door Church of God in Christ, 1201 E. Eighth Ave., with Elder David Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Woodland Memorial Park. Mr. McDade was born June 16, 1913 in Asa. He worked for Joe York Appliances, General Consumers Store and K. Wolens Warehouse. Barbara (Read) Turner Barbara Read Turner of Seale passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2003, in Waco. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home in Thornton. Services will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Lake Limestone Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Seale-Round Prairie Cemetery. Mrs. Turner was born Oct. 12, 1933, in Corsicana. She graduated from Ball High School in Galveston and continued her education at The University of Texas in Austin, receiving a B.A. degree in education. She then earned a master's of library sciences degree from Lamar University and served as a librarian in the Deer Park Independent School District until retirement. She was a resident of Seale for over 20 years and was highly active at Lake Limestone Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Lester Turner. Survivors include her mother, Lillie Read of Groesbeck; sister, Betty Read-Herndon and husband Hugh of Richardson; son, Richard Turner and wife Suzanne; grandson, J. Beulah 'Aunt Boo' (Crawford)
Moser Beulah "Aunt Boo" Crawford Moser, 92, of Corsicana went to be with the Lord Monday, Feb. 3, 2003. She passed away at Twilight Home. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. today at Griffin-Roughton Funeral Home. Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Griffin-Roughton Chapel with Brother Bill Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. Mrs. Moser was born Oct. 10, 1910 in Montfort to Charles W. Crawford and Parlee Elizabeth Parker Crawford. They moved to the Petty's Chapel community going to school and church there. She accepted Christ as a young girl sitting under a big oak tree in front of the church and was later baptized in the nearby creek. She married Delbert "Buster" Moser and lived in Trinidad many years. When her husband's health began to fail they sold their "mini ranch" as they called it and moved to Corsicana. Mrs. Moser joined Trinity Baptist Church at this time. Mrs. Moser enjoyed life. She loved people, parties, parties, parades, singing, reading, sewing, cooking and eating. She enjoyed a number of sports, watching football, fishing, playing 42, and people watching, but her favorite sport was talking. She was a seamstress for Corsicana Cleaners for many years. There was a great host of family and friends that preceded her in death to welcome her into heaven where there is no more pain, suffering, wars or rumors of war. He enjoyed fishing and gardening. He served on the board of the ball team in Fluvanna. He was preceded in death by three brothers and four sisters. Interment followed at Hillcrest Memorial Park in Dallas. Mr. Aston was born April 8, 1928, in the Chatfield community near Corsicana. He was a longtime member of Lakeside Baptist Church in Dallas, where he served as deacon, director of an adult Sunday school department, and served on various church committees. He was president of Lakeside Senior Adult LLL Club and was a Gideon. He served in the U.S. Army from 1945 to 1947, enlisted in the Texas National Guard when it reorganized, and transferred to the U.S. Army Reserves, where he retired with the rank of major after more than 20 years of service. He worked for Southwestern Bell Telephone for more than 39 years and retired in 1986 as a district manager. He had been active in the Dallas Life Club, SBC Pioneers, and many volunteer jobs during retirement including Medisend. He was a member of White Rock Kiwanis Club and had also been a member of Corsicana and Longview Kiwanis clubs. He was a past master of Corsicana Masonic Lodge and also served in all offices of the chapter and council of the commandery. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Mary; daughter, Lynne and husband Don Stickley of Pasadena; son, Jimmy of Houston; grandchildren, David and Robyn Stickley; sister, Joy Bryson and husband Dwane of Corsicana; and brothers, Randell and wife Betty of Irving and Jerry and wife Barbara of Corsicana. George Fowler Carson Sr. George Fowler Carson Sr., 92, passed away Monday, Feb. 10, 2003, in Corpus Christi. Graveside services were held at noon today at Seaside Memorial Park in Corpus Christi with George Pledger of Weber Road Church of Christ officiating. Pallbearers were George Fowler Carson III, Patrick Carson, Oakes Carson, Kevin Campbell and Jeremy Carson. Mr. Carson was born Aug. 15, 1910, in Corsicana to John Royal Carson and Etta Lois Carson. He graduated Corsicana High School in 1929 and attended Texas A&M University in College Station and was a member of the Aggie Corps of Cadets in 1930. He retired from Sun Oil Company in 1968 after 32 years. Following his retirement, he was employed by the City of Corpus Christi as a petroleum inspector and private consultant. He became a member of the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons of Texas, Blue Lodge No. 174 in Corsicana June 5, 1936, as a third-generation mason. He also held memberships in the El Karuba Lodge in Shreveport, La., and finally the Al Amin Shrine Temple in Corpus Christi. He reached the status of 33rd degree Knights Templer master mason and was recognized as a member for 65 years. He was an honorary deputy sheriff of Richland Parish, La., and was a member of Weber Road Church of Christ in 1978, where he served as a greeter. He was an avid duck hunter since his youth. He also enjoyed fishing, woodworking and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife of 38 years, Frances King Carson in 1977; his parents; and sisters, Lina Rose Dowling and Gertrude Johnson. Survivors include his wife, Merle Bell Carson; brother-in-law, Z. P. "Buddy" King of Teague; children, Kay Carroll of Corpus Christi, George F. She was the co-owner of Jeff & Leon's Domestic Service for a number of years. She was an active member of May Street Church of Christ, where she was baptized Oct. 24, 1982. She served faithfully as a Bible school teacher.
