S/Sgt. James E. Hatley, son of Mr. and Mrs. B. V. Hatley, Rice, husband of the former Miss Alice Glorine Woods, graduated at Rice High School.  Entered A.C. in 1941, trained at Foster Field, Victoria, Harlingen, and Randolph Field Texas, Chanute Field Ill., and Greensboro, N.C.  Has served in Africa, China, now on duty at India.  Has Good Conduct, Air Medals, and Distinguished Flying Cross.

  • Son of Burley Van Hatley, grandson of Alfred Flower & Margaret Bell (Stephens) Hatley; 1st wife Alice Glorine Woods, 2nd wife Orlena Farmer married on July 12, 1947. James moved to Fort Worth when he married Orlena. He worked at General Dynamics in Fort Worth for 30+ years. He's buried at Greenwood Cemetery in Fort Worth.

Pvt. Graham Harvard, son of Mrs. Sam Harvard of Navarro, husband of the former Flora Johnson of Grayford, graduate from Navarro High School.  Entered Mechanized Calvary Dec., 1943, trained at Junction City, Kansas, and Indian Town Gap.  Now stationed in France.

Pfc. Sammy R. Harvard, son of Mrs. Sam Harvard, graduate from Navarro High School.  Entered the service Sept. 22, 1942, trained with the Air Corps at Sheppard Field, Del Rico, Tex., and in California.  Has received a Diploma from the Mechanics Division of the Army now on duty in California.

Harvard, Navarro, husband of the former Miss Rita Hodges, graduate from Navarro.  Entered Army, 1944, trained at Camp Croft, and Fort Ord.  Has served in New Guinea, New Britain, Philippines, wounded April 23, 1945, now on duty at Panay, Philippines.  Has Combat Infantry Badge, Purple Heart.
