ULISH F. ROBERTS, JR.
SM Sgt. Ulish F. Roberts, Jr., son of Ulish and Annie Roberts, former residents of Winkler area. Married to Carrie B. Robinson Roberts. Enlisted in the U.S. Army Oct. 23, 1943. Stationed at Ft. Sam Houston, Camp Okinawa. Awarded NDSM, APM with 2 Bronze Stars, PUCE, CR, OCCM (Jap), WWII UM, ACM. Retired in 1967.
ELMER BOSE ROBINSON
1st Lt. Elmer Bose Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Robinson, and a graduate of Blooming Grove High School. Inducted into the Army at Fort Sam Houston, Texas on March 19, 1942. Completed 5 years and 2 months of service. Served in Battles and Campaigns in Northern France, the Rhineland, Ardennes, Normandy, and Central Europe. Attended service schools in the Signal Corps. in the U.S. and in Europe

Pvt. James Robinson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Robinson of Powell. Serving with the U.S. Marines stationed at Cap Pendleton, Calif., training at San Diego, Calif.
ROBERT ROBINSON, JR.
Pvt. Robert Robinson, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Robinson of Powell. Entered service Aug. 12, 1944. Served with the U.S. Army Ordinance Group.
WILLIAM B. ROBINSON
Cpl. William B. Robinson, son of William T. and Belle Robinson, formerly of Streetman. Attended Streetman School. Enlisted in 1941, training at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo., El Paso, Texas, and Camp Beale, Calif Honors received - NDSM, APCM with 3 Bronze Stars, WWIIVM, ACM. Served overseas in the Admiralty Islands, New Guinea, and Philippines. Discharged in 1945.

DAN ROGERS
T/5 Dan Rogers, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Rogers, Sr. Husband of the former Frances Kiser of Corsicana. Active service in the Army began Mar. 1, 1943, training at Ft. Knox, Kent. Served as a Medium Tank Crewman and Carbine expert in N. France, Ardennes, Rhineland, and Central Europe. Received American Theater Medal, EAME Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, and Victory Medal.
ARTHUR RAY ROSS
Water Tender 2nd Class Arthur Ross, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ross of Frost. Graduate of Frost High School. Several years before WWII began, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and trained at San Diego, Calif. Attached to the USS Juneau, he worked below deck with two  of the five Sullivan Brothers. He died Nov 13, 1942, when his ship sank in the Pacific area. He received several medals and Purple Heart.

JOHNNY RUSSELL
Radioman 1st Class Johnny Russell, son of W.O. and Dessie Russell of Blooming Grove. Graduate of Blooming Grove High School in 1940. Joined the U.S. Navy in 1940, training at San Diego, Calif. Served in Southwest Pacific on USS Concord until 1943. Served on USS Vicksburg, USS Currituck, and Fleet Weather Center Petropavlovsk (USSR)
RAY P. RUSSELL
GySgt. Ray P. Russell, son of W. O. and Dessie Russell of Blooming Grove. Graduate of Blooming Grove High School. Enlised in service in 1940, training with the Marines at San Diego, Calif. Stationed in Manila, Philippines, when WWII began in 1941. Served most of the war on the cruiser, USS Boise. Served in Campaigns in the Pacific and European Theaters. Awarded the Purple Heart and 18 other assorted ribbons. Remained in the Marine Corps.

THOMAS G. RUSSELL
Cpl. Thomas G. (Tommy) Russell, son of W.O. and Dessie Russell of Blooming Grove. Attended Blooming Grove High School. Husband of the former Martha Campbell. Enlisted in U.S.M.C. in 1942, training at San Diego, Calif. Served with the 3rd Marines in Southwest Pacific Island invasions. He was in 3 major battles. Guam, Bougainville, and Okinawa.  Discharged in 1948.

Lt. James R. Ruth, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. A. Ruth. Husband of the former Liza Jester Halbert of Corsicana. Attended Washington & Lee Univ., Lexington, Wash. Commissioned Ensign (AVS) USNR on April 16, 1942, serving at Port Columbus, Ohio. Assigned to duty as fighter Director Officer, USS Auburn (AGC-10). Trained at St. Simons Island, Georgia and Newport, R.I. Honorably discharged March 20, 1945.

1st Sgt. Irvin Samuels, son of Philip and Esther Samuels. Husband of the former Bobbette Bankfield of Port Arthur. Attended Texas Univ. Entered service Feb 10, 1942, training at Camp Wallace, Texas, Camp Davis, N.C., and Marine Base, San Diego, Calif. Served with 169 Ord. Bat. in New Caledonia, Philippines, Leyon, Leyte. Discharged Jan. 1, 1946.

Sgt. Melville Samuels, son of Philip and Esther Samuels. Married to Eleanor Samuels. Attended Texas A. & M. Trained at Sheppard Field. Served 3 1/2 years in Air Corps in Winston-Salem, N.C.
BASCOM LYNN SANDERS, JR.
Lt. Col. Bascom Lynn Sanders, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. B. L. Sanders. Husband of the former Mary Love Ferguson. Graduate of Corsicana High School and Texas A&M. Entered service Aug 30, 1941. Stationed at Army Air Corps Hq., Washington, D.C., Hq. 2nd Air Force, Spokane, Wash., Colorado Springs, Colo.; Hq. AAF, India-Burma, and China. Executive Officer to the Chief of Staff. Received Bronze Star, Air Medals, Campaign Ribbons. Discharged Oct 16, 1945.
LOYD BOWMER SANDS
Lt. Loyd Bowmer Sands, son of Will and Ora Sands, of Chatfield. Husband of the former Caroline Hunt of Dallas. Attended the Univ. of Texas. Joined the Naval Air Corps in 1939 and served as a fighter pilot in the South Pacific. Discharged in 1945.
CARROLL LEE SAUNDERS
Sgt. Carroll Lee Saunders, son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert Saunders of Blooming Grove. Attended school at Lone Cedar and Blooming Grove. Entered U.S. Army in April 1942, training at Camp Forest, Tenn. in the Signal Corps. Served as duty lineman for telephone, radio, and telegram service. Served as Sgt. in 1st Bn., 136th Inf. at Camp Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Wash, and on the Mojave Desert, Calif. Honorably discharged in 1943.

T/5 Byrel Scott, son of Mr and Mrs. John M Scott of Frost, Husband of the former Lucyle Mitchell. Graduate of Frost High School, attended Texas Tech and Parks Air College. Enlisted in Jan. 1943, training at Jefferson Brks, Univ. of Kentucky School of Eng., Geiger Field. Served with 1891st Eng. Aviation Bn. in India, Burma and China. Received Asiatic-Pacific Theater Ribbon with 3 Bronze Stars. Discharged Nov. 10, 1945.

GEORGE O. SCOTT
S/Sgt George O. Scott, son of Mrs. B.E. Grimes of Corsicana. Attended Flynn High School. Served with the U.S. Army, 36th Div. with 32 months overseas and participated in the major battles with this Div. Received the Silver Star, Bronze Arrowhead, President's Citation, Combat Inf. Pin, and Good Conduct Medal. He was a member of the National Guard at Huntsville when it was federalized in Nov. 1940.

FRANK SEELY, JR.
1st Lt. Frank Seely, Jr., son of Frank and Beatrice Seely. Husband of the former Lola Mae Looney. Attended Emhouse School and Texas A. & M.  Entered the Air Force in 1942, training at Garden City, Kans., Thomasville, Ga., Meridian Miss., Stamford and Eagle Pass where he received his Wings in 1943. Served in the European Theater, 162nd Tactical Reconnaissance Sn., 8th and 9th Air Force in Southern France and Germany. Awarded Air Medal with 13 Oak Leaf Clusters, European Theater Ribbon with 3 Battle Stars and Presidential Unit Citation. Discharged in 1945.

AUBRY SELMON
Pvt. Aubry Selmon, of Kerens. Husband of the former Pearl Jackson. Attended Navarro Co. Col. Training School. Entered the Army Air Corps June 23, 1942, training at Ft. Warren, Wyo. Discharged in April 1945.
