T/4 Warren W. Green, son of Mr. A. B. Green, Corsicana, husband of the former Miss  Melba Crowley, Kerens, attended Penelope High School, and N.T.S.T.C. Denton, Texas.  Entered C.A.C., Aut (sic) 1942, trained at Camp Wallace, Texas.  Has served in Iceland, now on duty at Ft. Bliss, Texas.

Pft. Corben L. Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Green, Kerens, attended Long Prairie School. Entered Army, 1943, trained at Camp Wheeler, Ga. volunteered for paratroopers and trained at Ft. Benning, Ga. Wounded in Holland, September 23, 1944, killed in Battle of Belgium Bulge, January 7, 1945. Has the Purple Heart.

GREEN, REUBEN F.
Pfc. Reuben F. Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. G. Green, Kerens, Tex.  Entered the Army Feb. 24, 1943, trained for Infantry Camp Howze, Tex., Ft. Sam Houston.  Has served in N. Africa, Italy, wounded May 12, and June 14, 1944.  Killed Oct 14, 1944.  Has the Purple Heart, Oak Leaf Cluster.
GREEN, MACON RAY
Pfc. Macon Ray Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Green.  Entered the Air Corps and Trained in Louisiana, and Rosewell, N. Mexico.  Now on duty somewhere in the Pacific.

T/5 Wilson B. Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Green, Frost.  Entered the service Dec, 1942, trained with the 84th Infantry Div. Sent overseas, 1944, reported missing in action Dec., 1944, was a prisoner of Germany until liberated April, 1945.  Has the Combat Inf. Badge.

Pvt. Rufus S. Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. H. Green, husband of the former Miss Annie Ruth Grounds, attended school at Blooming Grove.  Entered the service in the M.P. Bn., 1942, trained at Camp Joseph T. Robinson, and Little Rock.  Received an Honorable Discharge, April 1943.

Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, England and Germany, now on duty in France.  Has Infantry Combat Badge, Medal of Honor, and Ribbons with Bronze Stars.

Pfc. Elmer N. Griffin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Griffin, attended Rankin Schools.  Entered the service in 1942, trained with Infantry at Camp Roberts, Calif.  Served in Hawaii and South Pacific.  Killed in Action, Aug 15, 1943

  • PFC Elmer Neil Griffin was the son of Robert Monroe Griffin and Myrtle Matilda Livingston. Born in Purdon, Navarro County, Texas, he attended school in Rankin, Texas. On February 11, 1942, he enlisted in the United States Army at Camp Wolters, Texas, and trained at Camp Roberts in California. He served in Hawaii and the South Pacific and was lost in action on August 15, 1943 in Villa Lavella, Solomon Islands. It is believed that he died when the LST he was aboard was attacked by Japanese Aircraft.
    He was survived by his parents; three brothers and one sister. His name is listed on the Tablets of the Missing. He was the recipient of the Combat Infantryman Badge, Bronze Star, Purple Heart, National Defense Medal and Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal.
GRIFFIN, EARL R.
CSF Earl R. Griffin, son of Mrs. Katie Griffin, husband of the former Miss Gilene Hicks, attended school at Blooming Grove.  Enlisted in the Navy in 1942, trained at Camp Endicott, R. I. and Camp Holly day, Mass.  Served in Aleutian Islands until April 1944.  Was in hospital in Calif. and Colorado, Medical discharge Dec., 1944.

Griffin, son of Mrs. Kate Griffin, husband of the former Miss Zama Adell Phillips, graduated from Blooming Grove Schools.  Entered service in 1943, trained with Army at Camp Wolters, Jefferson Barracks, Salt Lake City, Camp Young and Indio, Calif.  Served in Pacific where he is now on duty.  Wears Theater Ribbon and 3 Campaign Stars.

Griffin, graduated from Purdon High School.  Entered service, 1942, trained with Infantry at Camp Barkley.  Served in England, France and Belgium.  Was wounded at St. Vith, Belgium, 1945.  Now on duty at Camp Fannin.  Wears ETO Ribbon with Star and Purple Heart.
