MARVIN L. GARRETT
Marvin L. Garrett was born in Powell.  Graduate of Powell High School.  Served in France and Germany as artilleryman in 725th Field Artillery of 70th Infantry Division.  After the War, served in Army of Occupation in Germany and was for a time, Chief Photographer of the Army newspaper, Stars & Stripes, being stationed at Paris, France and Frankfurt Germany.

DWAYNE GARRISON
ETM 2nd Class Dwayne Garrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Garrison of Blooming Grove.  Husband of the former Helen Ferrell.  Attended Blooming Grove High School and the University of Texas.  Entered service in 1944, training with the Navy at San Diego, Calif. and Chicago, Ill.  Served on a minesweeper in the North China and the Sea of Japan.  Discharged in 1946.

EDDIE GARRISON
Airman I/C Eddie Garrison, son of Mr. and Mrs. A. D. Garrison of Blooming Grove Graduate of Blooming Grove High School and Navarro Junior College.  Volunteered May 1948 for post-war military duties in U.S. Air Force.  Trained at Lackland Air Force.  Had stateside duties, primarily in Alaska.

ROBERT D. GARRISON, JR.
S/Sgt. Robert D. Garrison, Jr. son of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Garrison, Sr. of Blooming Grove.  Graduate of Blooming Grove High School, and attended S.M.U.  Entered service in Jun 1944, in the U.S. Army Specialized Training Program.  Norman, Okla. Basic training at Camp Wolters, Texas and Parachute training at Ft. Benning, Georgia.  Served with the 11th Airborne Div., in South Pacific and Japan.  Released to active Reserves in January 1946.

LEONARD D. GIESLER
1st Lt. Leonard D. Giesler entered service in 1942 as an Aviation Cadet at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, and earned his wings at Brooks Field, San Antonio in February 1943. Commissioned Lt. in Air Force in February 1943, and served at various bases in the States. Served one year in the China Theater with the 14th Air Force returning to assignment at Randolph Field, San Antonio, and discharged in August 1946.

T/4 Lloyd George Gill, son of Samuel and Hannah Gill.  Husband of the former Margaret Webb.  Attended Corsicana High School.  Entered service September 24, 1940, training at Brownwood, Texas.  Served with the Btry. A. 133rd Field Artillery Battalion in Naples-Foggia, Rome-Arno, S. France Rhineland, Central Europe.  Received EAME Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, American Defense Services Medal, Purple Heart with 5 Bronze Stars, American Defense Service Medal, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Medal.  Honorably discharged June 28, 1945.

Cpl. Margaret D. Gill, W.A.C., daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Gill.  A 1935 Corsicana High School Graduate, entered service March 10, 1943, training at Montcello, Arkansas.  Attended secretarial school.  Assigned to Perrin Field Air Force Base, Sherman, Texas.  Received Good Conduct Medal, ribbon for entering W.A.A.C., before being called W.A.C. Honorably discharged Nov. 21, 1945.
BILL GILLIAM
Cpl. Bill Gilliam, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Gilliam of Corsicana.  Husband of the former Barbara Cook.  Attended Corsicana High School.  Entered service April 23, 1943, training at Camp Wallace.  Served in England, Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland-Ardennes, General Europe with Gen. Patton's Third Army.  Received EAME Campaign Medal with 5 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal.

Billy G. Gilliam, son of John and Vera Gilliam of Blooming Grove.  Attended Blooming Grove School.  Entered the U.S. Navy in 1940, serving 4 years.

ROBERT W. GLADNEY
Cmdr. Robert W. Gladney entered service with the U.S. Navy on July 6, 1943.  Served 20 months duty in South Pacific.  Holder of Naval Reserve Medal.  Asiatic Pacific Campaign, American Defense and Victory Medal.  Honorably discharged January 29, 1946.  Re-entered Naval Reserve October 1947.

Capt. Edgar J. Glenn, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Glenn, Sr. of Blooming Grove.  Graduate of Blooming Grove High School.  Enlisted in U.S. Army Air Force in June 1942, training at Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Alva, Okla., San Antonio, Uvalde, Connally Air Base, Blackland Air Force Base, Waco, Fort Worth, and Walla Walla, Wash.  Assigned to Heavy Bombardment Group of 13th Air Force in S.W. Pacific Theater.  Flew 43 missions in 1947.  Married to the former Malda Jayne Goodrich.

T/Cpl. Vean Glover, son of Mrs. Lillie Mae Guinn of Kerens.  Graduate of N.C.T. School.  Entered the U.S. Army November 9, 1943, training at Camp Wolters, Texas.  Served in the South Pacific.
BILLY D. GORDEN
Pfc. Billy D. Gorden, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Gorden, husband of the former Miss Inez Odom, entered the Marines in 1943. Trained at San Diego and served at Pearl Harbor and the South Pacific. Was wounded in 1944 at Pelieu. Now on duty at Camp LeJeune, N.C. Has Theater Ribbon.

EDWIN T. GORDON
T/3 Edwin T. Gordon, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. M. Gordon of Corsicana.  Husband of the former Edna Benson.  Attended Corsicana Schools.  Entered service July 23, 1942.  Worked in a field hospital in the Pacific Theater under combat conditions assisting surgeons, administering anesthesia, setting up field hospitals.  Worked with the Marines, Air Force, Navy and the 7th Army Div.  Received World War II Ribbon, Pacific Battle Ribbons, American Campaign, Good Conduct Medal.  Discharged September 28, 1945.

LEONARD G. GORDON
Pvt. Leonard Gordon, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Gordon of Lubbock, formerly of Blooming Grove.  Awarded the Combat Infantry Badge for service in combat against the Japanese.  A veteran of 19 months overseas earned the award for his part in defending Hill 129, Bougainville, Island.  Also stationed in New Hebrides and Guadalcanal.

JESSIE ALBERT GORMAN
Pvt. Jessie Albert Gorman, son of Robert and Lavinia Gorman.  Husband of the former Juanita Mitcham.  Attended Montfort School.  Entered service in March 1944, training at Camp Fannin, Tyler.  Was with the 90th Infantry Div., 358th Battalion in the 3rd Army.  Active in the European Theater of Operations.  Seriously wounded in Germany on December 21, 1944.  Received 3 Campaign Ribbons, 3 Battle Stars, Purple Heart, Good Conduct Ribbon and Sharpshooter's Medal.  Received a medical discharge in 1944.
