CLARENCE GOWANS
Pfc. Clarence Gowans, son of Will and Melissa Gowans.  Attended Emhouse School.  He was a trainee in a CCC Camp at Waco when he entered the U.S. Army.  Saw service in the European Theater.  Wounded and, subsequently, spend a great deal of time in hospitals.  Awarded the Purple Heart.
 
VERNON GOWANS
Pvt. William Gowans, son of Will and Melissa Gowans, Husband of Annie Laura Cunningham Gowans.  Attended Emhouse School.  Entered the U.S. Army in January 1944, trained and served his entire time of enlistment at Camp Wolters.
JAMES AUSTIN GRAHAM
1st Sgt. James Austin Graham, son of James  R. and Kate C. Graham.  Graduate of Allen Academy and University of Miss.  Entered service July 28, 1943, training at Ft. Benning, Georgia, Camp McCain, Miss. Served with the Co. I 302nd Infantry Reg. in the American Theater, Northern France, Ardennes, Rhineland, Central Europe.  Received the Combat Infantryman's Badge, American Theater Campaign Medal, EAME Campaign Medal with 4 Bronze Stars, Good Conduct Medal, Victory Medal.  Honorably discharged February 8, 1946.
GILBERT GRANTHAM
Sgt. Gilbert Grantham, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. D. Grantham of Eureka.  Married to the former Vera Henderson.  Entered the U.S. Air Force December 7, 1942.  Served at University Brookin, S.D., Jefferson Barracks, Missouri, Scottfield, Ill., Laughlin Field, Del Rio, Texas.  Discharged November 4, 1945.
B. W. GREEN, JR.
Cpl B.W. Green Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs B.W. Green Sr. of Frost. Graduate of Frost High School, and attended N.T.S.T.C., Denton. Inducted in the service Augusst 1944, training at Camp Fannin, Tyler, Texas. Joined the 6th armored Division as replacement at Bastone, Belgium. When the European war ended he was sent to the China-Burma area, but as the war was ending there also, he was sent back to Europe for occupational service. Discharged November 16, 1946.

CHARLIE GREEN, JR.
E. M. 2/C Charlie Green, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Green, Sr. of Kerens.  Graduated from N.C.T. School.  Entered the Navy 1943, training at U.S.N.T.S., Great Lakes, Illinois, N.T.S., New York.  Served at N.S., New York.
CHARLIE R. GREEN
T/4 Charlie R. Green, son of Mr and Mrs. B.W. Green of Frost. Husband of the former Willie Cook. Entered the Army October 17, 1941, training at Ft. Riley, Kansas. Served in France and Germany. Received Good Conduct Medal, 4 Battle Stars, Overseas Medal, Rifleman's Medal. Discharged October 9, 1945.

EMMETT ONEAL GREEN
Emmett Oneal Green, son of James and Lucy Culbert Green.  Entered the Army April 19, 1942.  Served in North Africa, Germany and Italy.  Honorably discharged November 15, 1945.  Husband of the former Lurene French.
FRANK GREEN
Pfc. Frank Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Green of Kerens.  Attended N.C.T. School.  Entered Army, 25th Inf. on February 19, 1940, training at Ft. Huachuca, Arizona.  Served in the South Pacific.
J. FORREST GREEN
Major J. Forest Green joined Army Air Corps in 1942.  Graduated from pilot school 1943 (Class 43-KO.  Trained as a fighter pilot; flew all operational fighters except P-47.  Overseas 12 months in CBI Theater.  Combat duty in China with the Flying Tigers 14th Air Force Flying P-38 Lightning.  Flight instructor in fighter craft in Chico, Calif.  Instructor in primary and basic flight school at Randolph Field, Texas.

GEORGE GREEN
Cox George Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Green of Kerens.  Husband of the former Freda B. Williams.  Entered the Navy in 1942, training at U.S. Naval Base, Norfolk, Virginia.  Served in the South Pacific.
MARION ROY GREEN
Pfc Marion Roy Green, son of Mr and Mrs. B.W. Green Sr. of Frost. Husband of the former Bobbie Jean McClure. Attended McCord and Frost Schools. Entered the Army Oct 6, 1946, training at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina. Served in Japan.
ODELL GREEN
Sgt. Odell Green, attended Corsicana State Home and Navarro College.  Husband of the former Joy Dillard.  Entered service April 11, 1942, training at Camp Roberts, Calif., Ft. Benning, Ga., Fort Bragg, N.C. Served with the Co. I. 82nd Airborne Div., 505 Parachute Inf. in Rhineland, Ardennes, Normandy, Naples, Foggia, Sicily, Holland, Anzio, Africa and Salerno.  Fought in the Battle of the Bulge.  Received EAME Campaign Medal with 7 Bronze Stars, 1 Bronze Arrowhead, Good Conduct Medal, Purple Heart, Distinguished Unit Badge, Award of the Parachutist Badge.  Discharged September 24, 1945.
TRUITT WINFORD GREEN
Pfc Truitt Winford Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. B.W. Green of Frost. Husband of the former Nelda ruth Hamiter. Graduate of Emmett School. Inducted into the Army Feb 10, 1942, training at Camp Wallace. Served with the Btry B, 910 Battalion AAA in Puerto Rico, England, France, and Germany. Discharged December 23, 1945.

STM 1/C Will C. Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Green of Kerens.  Attended Navarro County School.  Entered the Navy in 1944, training at Bainbridge, Maryland.  Served at Newport, Rhode Island.
WILLIAM EARL GREEN
Pfc William Earl Green, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Green of Kerens.  Attended Navarro County School.  Entered the Air Corps in 1943, training at Lincoln, Nebraska.  Served on Luzon Is.  Awarded Carbine and Sharpshooter Medals.
WILLIAM THOMAS GREEN
Seaman William Thomas Green, son of William Allen and Oie Lee Whitley Green.  Husband of the former Bernice Ewing.  Graduate of Corsicana High School.  Entered the U.S. Navy November 7, 1942, training at San Diego, Calif.Served on aircraft carriers in the North Atlantic, Japan and the Philippines.  Left the service in June 1964, after serving 21 years.
HENRY GREER
Sgt. Henry Greer, husband of Lue Jessie Greer, enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1943, training at Jefferson Barracks, Missouri.  Served 17 months in England and France, wounded in France December 31, 1944, died from the injuries in England.  KILLED IN ACTION.
ALFRED J. GRIFFIN
Sgt. Alfred J. Griffin, son of Mrs. Rhoda Griffin of Blooming Grove.  Served with the U.S. Army in England, Ireland, and France.  Wounded in action twice (June 13 and August 10, 1942).  Received the  Purple Heart.
ARTHUR FRED GRIFFIN
Cpl. Arthur Fred Griffin, son of Mrs. Kate Griffin of Blooming Grove.  Graduate of Blooming Grove High School.  Husband of the former Zama Phillip.  Entered service in 1943 with the Air Corps.  Served in the South Pacific under Gen. Douglas MacArthur.  Member of the Flying Bulldozers Co. A. 836 Engineer Aviation Battalion.  Honorably discharged in 1946.
