SWEETWATER - E. O. French, 95, of Lubbock and formerly of Sweetwater, died Tuesday at his home.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in McCoy Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Drs. Morris Poole and G. W. French officiating. Graveside services with Masonic rites will be at 2 p.m. in Lamesa Memorial Park in Lamesa.
Mr. French was born in Dawson and worked for Texas Electric for 25 years before retiring. He was a member of Sweetwater Masonic Lodge 571 and Sweetwater First United Methodist Church, and was the widower of Cleone Pruitt French, whom he married in 1928 in Lamesa; and Nadine Bennett French, whom he married in 1984 in
Sweetwater.
Survivors include two daughters, Sue Ratcliffe of Amarillo and Joyce Blackburn of Lubbock; one brother, Dr. G. W. French Jr. of Arlington; two grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

FORT WORTH -- Edna "Lady" French, 93 years young, passed away Dec. 19, 2000 and
joined her husband, Troy to be with our Lord.

Edna "Lady" French was born in Irene, Texas on February 6, 1907. She lived in Fort Worth for 65 years. Mrs. French retired in 1990 from Stripling Cox Department Store on Berry Street, where she worked as a gift wrapper. She loved
to make the gifts pretty for everyone, each having a little bit of her love in them.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Troy French. They were married on November 5, 1932.
Survivors: Son, Velton French and wife, Donna of Benbrook; brother, Arville
Merrel; sister, Idyle LittleJohn; grandchildren, Doug French, Annette San Felepe' and John Simpson; and four great-grandchildren.

Daniel Noam Friedman, 69, of Brownwood passed away Thursday, July 12 in a Brownwood nursing home.

Mr. Friedman was born May 29, 1932 in Norwich, Conn. An X-ray technician since 1958, he served at John Sealy Hospital in Galveston and Brownwood Regional Medical Center since 1981.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Friedman is survived by his wife, Wilma Friedman of Brownwood; daughter, Joy Friedman of Galveston; stepchildren, Tom NeSmith of Blanket, Jan Wade of Abilene, Roxanne Craig of Corsicana, Michael Hendricks of Jacksonville and Tommy
Hendricks of Galveston; sister, Edna Bernanke; 15 grandchildren, six
great-grandchildren, one niece and two nephews.

George Leonard Frost, 76, of Corsicana passed away Monday May 21, 2001 in
Corsicana following a more than 20-year battle with Lou Gehrig's Disease.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Corley Funeral Chapel. Interment
will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park.

Mr. Frost was born March 3, 1925 in Streetman to W. E. and Ollie Gann Frost. He
was a longtime member of Northside Baptist Church. He was employed by the City
of Corsicana until his early retirement in 1980. He was a truck driver and a
veteran of military service.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Louise Frost of Corsicana; son and
daughter-in-law, Wayne and Dianna Frost of Navarro; daughter and son-in-law,
Anita and Steve Sunderhuse of Corsicana; granddaughter, Jennifer Frost of
Allentown, Pa.; granddaughter and husband, Michelle and Ted Messick of Castle
Rock, Colo., grandson, Joe York of Corsicana; and great-grandson, Edward Ethan
Frost of Allentown, Pa.

Martha Jean Fuller, 70, of Canton passed away Friday, Jan. 26, 2001 in
Dallas.

the Rev. Bobbie Weber and the Rev. David Worden officiating. Interment will

Mrs. Fuller was born Feb. 26, 1930 in Corsicana. She grew up in Corsicana and
attended Navarro Jr. College, and received her bachelor of science degree from
Southern Methodist University. She was married to James A. Fuller who preceded
her in death after 43 years of marriage. They lived in Garland for 35 years,
where she was a teacher for 25 years at Daugherty and Handley Schools. She had
been a Canton resident for 11 years and was a member of the First United
Methodist Church of Canton.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Dana A. and Peggy Fuller of
Dallas; daughter and son-in-law, Janet and Richard Abbott of Canton; seven
grandchildren, Brandon, Lena, Lauren and Meg Fuller, Mara Levinson, Jennifer and
husband Josh Jeffcoat, and Brian Abbott; and one great-grandchild, Michael
Jeffcoat.

Louise Mae Fuller, 84, of Okmulgee, Okla. passed away Saturday, Aug. 18, 2001.
Services were 11 a.m. today at Corley Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Lawrence
Matlock, pastor of Calvary Baptist Church of Okmulgee, Okla., officiating.
Interment followed at Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery.

Mrs. Fuller was born April 17, 1917 in Navarro County. She married Gilbert
Fuller on Sept. 29, 1931 in Corsicana. Mrs. Fuller lived in Odessa from 1943
until moving to Okmulgee, Okla. in 1999 to live near her son William. She was a
member of University Park Baptist Church of Odessa.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gilbert in 1998; and oldest son,
Melton in 1996.
Mrs. Fuller is survived by her sons, William Fuller and wife Martha of Okmulgee,
Okla. and Wilbert Fuller and wife Jessie of Odessa; daughter-in-law, Jean Fuller
of Alamogordo, N.M.; brother, David Crockett of Corsicana; grandchildren,
Scherie Pifer and Karen Wells, both of Alamogordo, Gary Fuller and Paul Fuller
of Fort Worth, Mark Fuller of Shawnee, Okla., Laurie Brooks of Guymon, Okla.,

Leroy Fullerton, 80, of Hubbard passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001 in a Waco
hospital.

Mr. Fullerton was born Jan. 7, 1921 in the Liberty Hill community near Dawson.
He was a lifelong resident of the Liberty Hill, Dawson and Hubbard area. Before
retirement, he worked in the potato processing at Tom's Foods in Corsicana. He
was a veteran having served as a PFC in the U.S. Army during
World War II.
He was preceded in death by two infant children, Linda Faye Fullerton and Larry
Wayne Fullerton.
Mr. Fullerton is survived by his wife, Clara Silvia Couch Fullerton of Hubbard;
daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Morris Thatcher and Patricia Ann and
William L. Parker, all of Hubbard; brother, Earl Fullerton of Corsicana; five
grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gamble is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Howard J. and Beatrice

Freeman of Hubbard and Gwen Freeman of Irving; brother and sister-in-law, Barnie

years, Mae Lynn Gannon of Pursley; sons, Glen Gannon of Corsicana and Dan Gannon
of Belle, Misouri; daughters, Ande Beasley of Corsicana and Lisa Acker of Tatum;
11 foster children, 15 grandchildren, five great grandchildren and a number of
nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Gardner died Tuesday at her home.
She was born in Jean, Texas. She had lived in Centerville since 1985, having
moved from Milford, Texas. She was a homemaker and a member of the First United
Methodist Church in Centerville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Edward Gardner.
Survivors include a daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and J.R. Thomas of
Centerville; a stepson, Clyde Olin Gardner and his wife, Mary, of Milford; three

SWEETWATER — Jimmy L. “Tookie” Gardner, 64, died Saturday, April 22, 2000.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel
with the Rev. James Baker officiating. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m.
Wednesday in Hamilton-Beeman Cemetery in Corsicana.
Mr. Gardner was born in Hamlin and was a longtime resident of Sweetwater. He was
a truck driver for Quality Pump Service. He married Constance Ann Brannon in
1960 in Sweetwater. He married Melba Easterwood in 1995 in Abilene. Both
preceded him in death.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy Todd Gardner of Sweetwater; four brothers, Leon
Gardner of Sylvester, Terry Gardner and Ronnie Gardner, both of Sweetwater, and
Sonny Gardner of Roscoe; five sisters, Sue Sutton of Sweetwater, Sandra Estes of
Mertzon, June Squires of Odessa, Jane Chew of Abilene and Doris Squires of
Dallas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by husband Joseph Key Garner and son Joseph Key
Garner, Jr.

Garrett died Wednesday, Jan. 13, 1999, in Swisher Memorial Hospital.
He was born April 7, 1928, in Abilene. He married Jo Alice Harmon on July 3,
1947, in Corsicana. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church. He graduated
high school in Dublin, Texas. He attended Tarleton State University in
Stephenville. He graduated from Texas Tech University, and he played basketball
at Tarleton State University. He was a member of the ROTC at Texas Tech. He was
a member of the Delta Sigma Phi business fraternity and past president of the
Arnold Air Society. He served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1955. He worked
with International Harvesters. He worked for Finger Motor Co. in Borger as a
general manager. He was the assistant administrator at the hospital in Borger.
He moved to Tulia and became the hospital administrator of Swisher Memorial
Hospital. He retired in 1993.
Survivors include his wife; two daughters, Karen Alice Garrett of Amarillo and
Julie Kay Fairchild of Dallas; a son, John Harmon Garrett of Leonard; and three
granddaughters.

Mrs. Garrett was born in Albany and grew up in Corsicana, graduating from
Corsicana High School. She graduated from Texas Tech University, Magna Cum Laude
in 1953, with a degree in history.
She taught school in Borger. In 1975, she moved to Tulia, where she worked for
Swisher County Library and became librarian in 1978. She retired in 1996. She
was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Tulia and the Delta Kappa Gamma
Honorary Teachers Society.
She was married to Max Littleton Garrett in 1947 at Corsicana. He died in 1999.
Survivors include two daughters, Julie K. Fairchild of Dallas and Karen A.
Garrett of Amarillo; a son, John Harmon Garrett of Leonard; and three
granddaughters.
The family suggests memorials be to First Presbyterian Church Scholarship Fund;

trade.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vida Baird and Bennie Gazaway Sr.; and
brother, Thomas; and his wives, Murlene Gazaway and Helen Nadine Monds Gazaway.

from 1942 to 1945 achieving the rank of first class petty officer. He was a
member of the Good Sam Travel Club and a active member of Wesley United
Methodist Church for more than 40 years. He had worked for Texas Sash and Door
of Fort Worth for more than 30 years and Shamburger Building Center of Wichita
Falls for 10 years. He had lived in Wichita Falls since 1951. He was a graduate
of McMurry College of Abilene, Texas.
Survivors include his wife; two sons, Jerry Lon and James Bryan, both of Wichita
Falls; a brother, Charles Wade of St. Charles, Miss.; and six grandchildren.
The family will be at the funeral home from 3-4 p.m. Sunday.

Club. She worked as a florist and had lived in Wichita Falls since 1951. She was
a graduate of Weatherford Junior College and was a very talented pianist and
accordion player. Mrs. Gilbert's mother, Erin Mavorne Boone Bunch, was a
descendant of John Boone of North Carolina, who was a first cousin of the famous
Daniel Boone. Survivors include her two sons, Jerry Lon
Gilbert and his wife Katherine of Wichita Falls, and James Bryan Gilbert and his
wife Carole of Iowa Park; a nephew Joel Reagan Norman of Noxon, Montana. Mrs.
Gilbert had 6 grandchildren; Jennifer Mieske of Dallas, Julie LeStourgeon of San

served in the Vietnam War on two tours of duty. He moved to Tulia in 1990. He
was a member of Keystone Masonic Lodge 188 AF&AM, Veterans of Foreign Wars and
the American Legion.

Worth and Ray of Tulia; his mother, Edna Thomas of Tulia; a sister, Tressie

65, resident of Dallas, who was killed Saturday in Navarro County when his
tractor overturned. He is the father of County Judge Jim Gill.
He was a graduate of Duke University School of Medicine and went to the
University of Texas Southwestern Medical School in 1943 as an instructor in
pathology. He was Dean of that school 1955-1967 when he resumed teaching,
retiring in 1978.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Hodge Gill of Dallas, two sons, Frank
Harrison Gill of Dallas and James Hodge Gill of Corsicana, one daughter Mary
Gill Bankhead of Corsicana and five grandchildren.

Corsicana.

Mrs. Gipson was born May 19, 1913 in Dawson and was a lifelong resident of
Dawson. She was a Sabbath teacher at United Church of God in Waco, where she was
an active member. She was also a nursery worker and loved gardening and flowers.
Her favorite flower was the peony.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Boyd Gipson in 1970.
Mrs. Gipson is survived by her son, James M. McGrew and wife Cynthia of Dallas;
grandson, Jamad McGrew of Dallas; and special friends, A. J. Renfro of Dawson and
Gilbert and Dorris Renfro Ferrell of Fort Worth.

Prentice Lillian Glass, 95, of Lubbock, formerly of Snyder, died
August 15 at Maretta Personal Care Home. Services will be held today
at 2 p.m. at the Eastside Church of Christ with Tom Holcomb, and
grandsons, Gary Linker and Dr. Jeff Glass officiating. Burial will
follow in the Hillside Memorial Gardens.
Mrs. Glass was born August 10, 1902 in Dawson. She married Joe M.
Glass on August 27, 1929 in Dawson. Mrs. Glass moved to Snyder with
her husband where they taught school. Mrs. Glass retired in 1965
after teaching for 37 years. She moved to Lubbock about 4 years ago
to be near her daughter, Louise. She was a longtime member of the
Eastside Baptist Church in Snyder.
Mrs. Glass is survived by her two sons, Bobby Glass of Athens and J.
M. Glass, Jr. of Corsicana; a daughter, Louise Linker of Lubbock; 8
grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

She was a school teacher, and she retired in 1965.
Survivors include two sons, Bobby of Athens and J. M. Jr. of Corsicana; a
daughter, Louise Linker of Lubbock; eight grandchildren; and eight
great-grandchildren.

July 25, 1937 - Dec 18, 2000 Wanda Annette Glazner, 63, of
Fairfield passed away Monday, Dec. 18, 2000 at her residence. Services will be 2 p.m. today at First United Methodist Church in Fairfield with
the Rev. Wayne Middleton officiating. Interment will follow at
Post Oak Cemetery
in Fairfield.
Pallbearers will be David Filis, Lyle Red, Sam Bill Bournias, Gilbert Gatlin,
Rodney Gillen Hall and Bill Whitson. Mrs. Glazner was born July 25, 1937 in Corsicana. She had been a doll maker,
ceramic store owner and former bookkeeper. She had been president of the NCO
wife's club in Okinawa, Japan. A member of First United Methodist Church, she
was a church trustee and choir member. She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Eugenia Ethelene Clarke.
Mrs. Glazner is survived by her husband, Glynn Glazner of Fairfield; brother and
sister-in-law, Sam and Beverly Clarke of Corsicana; nieces and nephews and
several aunts.

Michael D. Glover, 46, a police lieutenant for the Dallas Area Rapid Transit
Authority, passed away Saturday, Sept. 15, 2001 as the result of a sudden
illness.
Visitation will be held until 5:30 p.m. today at Gregory W. Spencer Funeral
Home. The family will be present at Mount Olive Baptist Church, 301 W. Sanford,
Arlington, from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. today.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Mount Olive Baptist Church with the
Rev. Thompson officiating. Interment will follow at Moore Memorial Gardens in
Arlington.
Mr. Glover was born Feb. 13, 1955. He began his career in the Dallas Area Rapid
Transit Police Department June 25, 1990 and helped build the department to the
professional standards it has attained today. As one of the original members of
the Transit Police, he made a significant mark on the department. His
outstanding leadership, service and dedication will be missed.
In 2000, he completed course work at the Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement
Management Institute of Texas. He achieve his advanced police officer
proficiency in 1989 and was also a certified crime prevention inspector and
police instructor. Prior to coming to DART, he served with the Corsicana Police
Department from February 1983 to June 1990. He attended Navarro College, where
he earned an associate of applied science degree in law enforcement in 1975.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Sylvia Glover; son, Brandon Glover; and daughter,
Brandy Glover, all of Arlington; brothers and sister-in-law, Jonathan and
Marianthee Glover of San Antonio and Joseph Zeno of Houston; sisters and
brothers-in-law, Josephine and M.J. Randle of Buffalo, Essie and Daniel Graves
of Houston, Johnetta and Roy Brown of Dallas, Laura Zeno of Fort Worth and
Jackie and Billy Rush of Omaha, Neb.

He was born Sept. 27, 1984 in Ennis, the son of Tollie J. and Elizabeth Ann
Green Goodwin. He was raised in Ennis where he attended school. In 1992 he moved
to Augusta, Ga. In 1999 he returned to Ennis. He was a sophomore at Ennis High
School and a member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, Ga.
Survivors include his father, Tollie Goodwin of Ennis; mother, Beth Goodwin of
White Oak; sister, Andrea Goodwin of White Oak; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Ivan

Aug 18, 1926 - Jul 4, 2001 Charlotte Margaret Goodwin of Granbury
was born August 18, 1926, in Corsicana, Texas. She died July 4, 2001. Margaret's
favorite interests were crocheting, cooking, table games and travel. Her focus,
however, was always on her family. She loved family gatherings and knew no
strangers. All who knew her loved her. Preceding her in death was her husband,
of 51 years, William Vernon Goodwin, in July, 1998. Surviving are her daughters,
Marla Webb and husband, Bill, of Austin and Pat Hill and husband, Rick, of
Garland; four grandsons, who were her pride and joy, David Moore of Dallas,
Daniel and Timothy Hill of Garland and Michael Moore of Austin. A memorial
service was be at 3:30 p.m. on Friday, July 6, 2001, at Restland Wildwood

and Baylor University. She was a member of Highland Baptist Church, Gleaners
Sunday School and the Tuesday Night Readers.
She worked for the State of New Mexico in the Human Services Department for 20
years.
Survivors include three sons, Larry of Glendale, Ariz., Richard of Colorado
Springs, Colo., and Paul of Albuquerque, N.M.; a daughter, Linda Huff of
Lubbock; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild.

Melvin F. Osborne was buried Saturday afternoon in Frost Cemetery
following funeral service at 2 p.m. in Corsicana.
A native of Frost, he was longtime owner and operator of a cleaning and
pressing business in Corsicana. Mr. Osborne, 85, was retired and was a
patient in Paulyne's Convalescent Home.

MRS COLEY DIES MONDAY, FUNERAL TUES.
Funeral was held Tuesday morning at 10:30 o'clock in Corsicana for Mrs. Blanche Coley who died early Monday in Memorial Hospital after
a long illness.
Rev. John McCord of Waxahachie was the minister. Casket Bearers were Willy Youngblood, Joe B. Brown, Jr., Martin Youngblood, Robert
Jones, Olen Humphries, Jr., Dr. J. K. Highnote, Chester Sprinkle and Bill Bradford. Interment was in Frost Cemetery.
Mrs. Coley, 69 years of age, lived most of her life in Frost but had made her home in Corsicana for many years.
Surviving Mrs. Coley are two daughters, Mrs. Campbell Gillespie, Jr. of Corsicana and Mrs. Hal Faughan of Dallas; 8 grandchildren and one
great grandchild; 3 brothers, Joe B. Brown and Frank Brown of Frost, and Lee Brown of Ft. Worth; a sister, Mrs. Jack Harrington of Frost;
3 nephews and 2 nieces.

Funeral services were held Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at the Griffin Funeral Chapel for Mrs. Blanche Brown Coley, 69, who died Monday.

Rosa Regina Gordon, 75, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 9, 2001 in a Vernon hospital
following a lengthy illness.
Wake services will be 7 p.m. today at Sullivan Funeral Home, 1801 Houston St.,
Vernon.
Services will be 4 p.m. Thursday at Sullivan Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Oren
Key officiating. Interment will follow at Eastview Cemetery in Vernon.
Mrs. Gordon was born Nov. 3, 1925 in Haynesville to O.W. and Timothea Wisenfels
Dietz. She married Arthur Maynard Gordon on Nov. 25, 1948 in Vernon. She was a
member of Holy Family Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was a resident
of Wilbarger County all her life, and was a retired Southwestern Bell Telephone
operator.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and daughter, Judith Gordon.
Mrs. Gordon is survived by her husband, Maynard Gordon of Vernon; sons, Gary
Gordon of Vernon, Don Gordon of Pickerington, Ohio, and Danny Gordon of
Corsicana; daughters, Deborah Gordon of Vernon and Cathy Gordon Drewry of
Leslie, Ark.; brother, Edward Dietz of Lubbock; sisters, Margaret Temple of
Eugene, Ore. and Christine Franklin of San Antonio; nine grandchildren and one
great-granddaughter.

Friday, Oct. 29, 1999, at a Tyler hospital.

officiating. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Cemetery.
Mrs. Goree was born in Navarro County and lived in Jones County all her life
before moving to Athens, Tex., in 1996. She was a member of Orient Street Church
of Christ. She married T. J. “Jack” Goree in 1933 in Stamford; he preceded her in
death.
Survivors include one son, Jack Goree of Ore City; one sister, Virginia Young of
Monahans; two grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Mrs. Gowan was born Jan. 28, 1909 in Hill County. She was a member of First

and crafts) and Busy Bee Club. She was a resident of Twilight Home and a former
resident of Heritage Oaks.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Nora Pearl Lonon; father, George
Washington Burnett; husband, Roy L. Gowan in 1983; siblings, Lloyd Burnett, Ed
Burnett, Margaret Bell and Alton Burnett.
Mrs. Gowan is survived by her nephews and nieces, Gene Edward Burnett, Brenda

April 19, 2000.

Mr. Green was born Dec. 1, 1920 in Emmett. He was a graduate of Emmett High
School. He served in World War II as a gunner mechanic, after which he was
employed by Adams Hat Factory until his retirement. After his retirement, he
enjoyed tinkering in the garage and traveling with his wife. He was a longtime
member of Missionary Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for over 20
years and taught Sunday school for a number of years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Gloria; parents, Sam and Stella Green; and
brother, Corbin Green.
Mr. Green is survived by his wife, Aubrey Green; son, Steven Green; and three
grandsons, Steven Jr., Timmy and Phillip Green, all of Corsicana.

Mrs. Greene was born Feb. 27, 1909 in Blooming Grove to James Hiram and Lula
Cole. She worked as a bookkeeper for an automotive business. She was a member of
First United Methodist Church for over 70 years.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harold Greene.
Mrs. Greene is survived by her nieces, Patricia Cole Pearson of Dallas and Janna
Hayden of Nashville, Tenn.; nephews, Jim Cole of Tulsa, Okla., John Cole Thomas
of Edmond, Okla.; great-nieces, Beth Rohleder of Houston, Delores Downs of
France and Nancy Beebe of Argyle; great-nephews, Bob Cole of Memphis, Tenn. and
Tim Cole of Tulsa, Okla.; great-great-nieces and nephews, Josh Rohleder, Jena
Rohleder, Jillian Rohleder, Keely Beebe, Bailee Beebe, Max Beebe, Cole
Kliegerman, Ariel Kliegerman, Sammy Kliegerman, Chase Thomas and Sheila Steihely.

SIMS INEZ MARIE GREENE affectionately called "Medea" and "Honey", went home to
be with our Lord on Tuesday, December 13, 2000 at the age of 81. She was born
December 22, 1918 in Kerens, Texas. She was a member of Pages Temple Church of
God in Christ. Later, she united with United Pentecostal COGIC. A nurse for more
than 35 years, Inez retired following a distinguished career with the Department
of Veterans Affairs, Dallas VA Medical Center. Her husband Elder Calvert Sims
preceded her in death. Inez was a wonderful, loving mother, grandmother, and
great grandmother. She was adored and loved by family and friends. "Inez will be
dearly missed by all the hearts she touched in her life". She is survived by her
four children Sylvia Wayne, Charles Sims (Sandra) of Houston, TX, Gayle King
(James), Carolyn Woods (Ben), two sisters Ruby Thompson (Arthur), and Elizabeth
Williams (James), all of Dallas. Also, grandchildren Terrence Sims of Marin, CA,
Robert Wayne, Jr. (Janet) of Charlotte, NC, Carol Wayne Jackson (Edward) of
Waldorf, MD, Trecia King, Willie Jordan of San Francisco, CA, Michele Jones
(Roscoe), Micheon Brackens (Andre) of Oceanside, CA, Bridget Sims, Geli Brown
(Ernie) of Pittsburgh, PA, Ben Woods, III, of Atlanta, GA and Chelse' Woods. In
addition, Inez was blessed with great granchildren Jerome McDade, Michael Sims,
ReNecia Wayne, Gabrian King, Robert Wayne, III, Andre Brackens, II, Antoinnia
King, Chesnie Brackens, Brian Jackson, Austin Brackens, Chloe Jackson, Chase
Brackens and Roscoe Jones, III, as well as a host of relatives and friends.

Frank James Greenup, 91, of Corsicana passed away Monday, June 11, 2001 in
Corsicana.
Services were 11:30 a.m. today at Resthaven Mausoleum Chapel with the Rev. Terry
Hodge officiating, with interment to follow at
Resthaven Memorial Park.
Mr. Greenup was born July 16, 1909 in Eureka.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Greenup; and son, Joe Allen Greenup
Sr.
Mr. Greenup is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Yvonne and Joe Blackmon
of Missouri City; son and daughter-in-law, Wayne and Leah Greenup of Canyon;

residence.

James "Hootie' Griffin, 76, of Corsicana passed away Friday, March 30, 2001
at Navarro Regional Hospital.

Tommie Jo Smith Griffin, 73, of Ennis passed away Tuesday, July 17, 2001 in
an automobile accident in Hutchins.
Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Corley Funeral Home.
Services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Westminster Presbyterian Church with the
Rev. Joe Dwinell and Dr. Robert Young officiating. Interment will be held at 3
p.m. Sunday at Reed Hill Cemetery in New Boston with assistance from Bates-Rolf
Funeral Home.
Mrs. Griffin was born July 15, 1928 in New Boston to Thomas Jefferson and
Josephine Smith. She grew up in Hooks and graduated from Hooks High School. She
attended Texas Woman's University in Denton, studying bacteriology and lab
diagnosis, and was elected a Redbud princess there. On Dec. 27, 1946, she
married Dr. John Wilder Griffin, also of Hooks. In 1954, the couple moved to
Corsicana, where they raised their four children. She was a member of
Westminster Presbyterian Church and former Sunday school teacher.
She was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and friend.
She was adored, admired and cherished by her family and friends. Her kindness
and beauty blessed all those who knew her.
Mrs. Griffin was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Griffin; father, T.J.
Smith; and brother, Robert L. Smith.
Survivors include her mother, Josephine Reeder Smith of New Boston; sons, Dr.
John Bradley Griffin and wife Linda of Columbia, S.C. and their children Sarah
and Charles, and Dr. Thomas Hall Griffin and wife Dr. Betsy Griffin of Longview
and their sons John and Nathan; daughters, Nancy Constance Griffin of Fort Worth
and Jennifer Claire Griffin of Dallas; and nephew, Charles Leslie Smith and wife
Elise of Palestine and their children Melanie and Matt.

He was born Oct. 28, 1916, in Purdon. He married Margaret Schroeder on July 24,
1943, in Fort Worth. She died Aug. 1, 1994. He was a member of Monterey Baptist
Church and was a volunteer at University Medical Center. He was a U.S. Army Air
Corps veteran of World War II.

Dallas.

Services will be 10 a.m. Thursday at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with

also a member of the Navarro County Medical Society. She graduated from
Hillsboro High School in 1938 and then attended Brackenridge Hospital School of
Nursing from 1938 to 1940. She married A.L. Grizzaffi Nov. 28, 1940 in Austin.
The moved to Corsicana in 1955. She was a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, John Riley Smith, Jr.
Mrs. Grizzaffi is survived by her husband, Anthony L. Grizzaffi, M.D. or
Corsicana; daughters Judy Cooper of Cabo San Lucas, Mexico and Mary Holly and
husband Patrick Dodson of Evalde; sons and daughters-in-law John Michael and
Shirley Grizzaffi of Carrollton and Patrick Anthony and Roberta Grizzaffi of
Garland; granddaughter Holly Bridges; grandsons John Cooper, Jody Dodson, John
Dodson, Will Dodson and Phillip Grizzaffi; granddaughters and husbands Amy and
