S/Sgt. Henry M. Watson, son of Mrs. Minnie L. Watson of Corsicana. Entered service Jan. 25, 1941, training in the Infantry. Served in South Pacific. Attended Paul Quin College.

LONNIE NEWBURN WATSON

1st Lt. Lonnie Newburn Watson, son of William E. (Billy) and Lucy Watson of Corsicana. Entered the U.S. Air Force in Nov. 1942. Served in the Finance Det. at Waco Army Flying School, attended the Adjutant Gen's O.C.S. in Ft. Washington, Md. Assigned to 3rd Air Force, Barksdale Field, La. as Post Exchange Off. Served at Will Rogers Air Force Base, Okla. and 3rd Air Force Hdqts., Tampa, Fla. Honorably discharged in April 1946.

BENJAMIN WEAVER
Cpl. Benjamin Weaver, son of Mary Ethel Weaver. Graduate of Corsicana High School. Joined the U.S. Air Corps and served in Weisbaden, Germany and various bases in Europe during his 16 years in Air Corps.

Sgt. James Tinkle West, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. West. Married to Lois T. West. Attended Texas A. & M. Enlisted April 4, 1942, training at Uvalde, Randolph Field, Independence, Kansas. Served at independence AFB, Kansas, Instrument Flying Instructor who wrote "Instruction Book for Inst. Flying for Gulf Coast Training Command." Honorably discharged with  a disability Discharge. Oct. 14, 1944.

Pfc. Henry H. White, son of Robert W. and Pearl Elizabeth Cook White. Entered the U.S. Air Force in July, 1942, training at Sheppard Field, Wichita Falls. Stationed at Yuma AFB, Ariz. and Newport News, Va. Served with the 492nd Bomb Sn Ground Force, 10th Air Force in India and 322nd Troop Carrier Sn., 14th Air Force in China. Received citations and campaigns medals for the Asiatic-Pacific and American Theater.

Medical School.  Entered service June 24th, 1943, training at Ft. Bragg, N.C., Oxford, iss., Camp McCain with the 94th Inf. Div., 376th Inf. Reg., 3rd Battalion Hdqtrs. Co. Served in France and Germany. Received European Theater of Operations with 3 Oak Clusters, Purple Heart and Good Conduct Medal.

CLIFTON OLEN WHITLEY
S/Sgt. Cliftin Olen Whitley, 5th Army, 3rd Div., 7th Inf., son of Mr. and Mrs. G. D. Whitley. Attended Roane School. Entered service in March 1941, training at Camp Robert, Calif. and Camp Lewis, Wash. Landed in French Morocco on Oct 22, 1942, and participated in 5 assault boat landings in the European Theater of Operations. Recommended for gallantry and received the Silver Star and Purple Heart. Discharge din Oct. 1943.

GEORGE WHITLEY
Pfc. George Whitley, son of Mr. and Mrs. Whitley. Married to Roberta Whitley. Attended Navarro Co. Training School at Kerens. Entered the Army in 1942, training at Camp Wolters, Texas and served overseas.
CHARLES A. WHITLOCK
Capt. Charles Arthur Whitlock, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Whitlock of Corsicana. A 1938 Graduate of Corsicana High School, entered the U.S. Army in 1939. Commissioned at Lubbock in 1942 in the U.S. Air Force and later received the Air Medal for 5 bombing missions in Sicily and the Distinguished Flying Cross for his heroism against the Ploesti Oil Refineries in Rumania where he was captured by the Germans in 1943, and released in 1945. He was fatally injured on Dec 15, 1949, in a B-29 crash near Roswell N.M. when the bomber struck a windmill and tumbled to the ground, killing 6 and injuring three.

EDDIE V. WILLIAMS
S. Eddie V. Williams, son of Charlie and Ruby Williams of Corsicana. Graduate of G.W. Jackson High School, Corsicana. Entered the Coast Guard in Feb. 1943.
JESSE WILLIAMS
Sgt. Jesse Williams, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jim Williams of Corsicana. Entered the U.S. Army March 24, 1941, serving with the 54th Coat Artillery, and the 99th Anit-Aircraft. Discharged April 17, 1943, Walter Reed Gen. Hospital, Washington DC.
ROBERT L. WILLIAMS
S/Sgt. Robert L. (Buddy) Williams, son of Rev. and Mrs. R. L. Williams. Husband of the former Jo Ann King of Blooming Grove. Graduate of Blooming Grove High School.   Entered service Jan. 7, 1942, training at Sheppard Field, Texas; Fresno, Calif.; Okla. City, Okla.; Greensboro, N.C. with the 47th, went to the 86th in Meridian, Miss. Transferred to 13th Air Support Command. Served in the invasion of North Africa, Tunisia, Naples and Rome. Honorably discharged in Oct. 1945.

Pfc. Roy Williams, son of Mrs. Eva S. Wilson of Corsicana. Entered service June 1, 1945, with the C.O.A. 96th Bn., 18th G.P., Camp Clairborne, Louisiana.

SAMUEL WILLIAMS
Pvt. Samuel Williams, son of Mrs. Eva S. Wilson of Corsicana. Entered service April 22, 1942, with the U.S. Army, training at Camp Clairborne, Louisiana. Served with the 423rd Engr. Co., Engr. Org. Center. Discharged in Nov. 1945.

DOUGLAS M. WILLIS
Douglas M. Willis, teacher, coach, principal of Blooming Grove High School, volunteered for service in the U.S. Navy in 1942. Served for duration of war.
