Notes:
------------
Mr. Charles Harl Williams was born on March
8, 1931 in Rockdale, and passed away in Corsicana on Aug. 8, 2014.
During his life, he served in the
U.S. Air Force, obtained his degree in electrical engineering
and raised three children while living in Washington, D.C.,
Maryland, Virginia, and Texas.
Charles "Papa" and "Grandpa Tex" Williams never had a Facebook. He
said he much preferred to sit in his armchair and look at his
beautiful wife Anna Williams face. They met while square dancing
and enjoyed 64 years of marriage. He taught his family the value of
loyalty and hard work. After he retired in the late 90's, he
continued to work as a night security guard at Russell Stover's
candy factory for the next 15 years. He created a safe and positive
space for his children and grandchildren to grow and could always
make them laugh with his stories and expressions. We are forever
grateful.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harl and Bernice Williams
of Eastland; and a brother, Paul Williams.
Survivors include his wife, Anna Carroll Williams of Corsicana; his
children, Michael Williams of Leesburg, Florida, Douglas Williams
and wife Michelle of Severna Park, Maryland, and Sharon Bugg and
husband Eric of Corsicana; his siblings, Eloise Wood and husband
Alvin of Fort Worth, Joyce Thompson and husband Ron of Fort Worth,
Nancy Franklin of Odessa, Elton Williams and wife Becky of Stanton,
along with five grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and
cousins.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug. 10, 2014,
at Corley Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, Aug. 11,
2014, at the Corley Funeral Home chapel with Dr. Rick Lamb
officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in
Oakwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Mike Williams, Doug Williams, David Wood, Tony
Franklin, Eric Franklin, and Eric Bugg.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either The
American Cancer Society or The Salvation Army in his memory.
An online guest book is available at
