BAKER, GEORGE
S/Sgt George C. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Baker, husband of the former Miss Helen Belle Boyles, entered the service in 1941.  Trained with 1st Army Field Artillery at Camp Bowie, Ft. Sill, Camp Blanding and Camp Edwards, served in England, France Belgium, Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Luxembourg.  Wears Good Conduct Medal and 5 Stars.  Now in Germany.

Sgt. William M. Baker, son of Mrs. J. A. Baker, husband of the former Cpl. Helen Morrison, attended Emhouse Schools.  Entered the Marines in 1942, trained at San Diego, Served on Samoa Island and Wallace Island.  Now at Camp Pendleton, Calif.  Has honors for welding.

Cpl. Orville E. Baker, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. M. Baker, attended school at Corsicana.  Entered the Air Corps June 1943, trained at Amarillo, N. Carolina and Virginia.  Served in England, France and Germany.  Now on duty in Germany.

2nd Lt. Woodrow W. Baldwin, son of Mr. W.I. Baldwin attended school at Nash. Entered the Army in 1940, trained at Ft. Sam Houston, Camp Wolters. Served at New Hebrides, Guadalcanal, Bougainville, and the Philippines. Wears Good Conduct Medal, Combat Infantryman's Badge and Silver Star.

Pfc. Lloyd H. Baldwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. E. Baldwin, attended Richland High School.  Entered the Air Corps Engrs. Feb., 1943, trained at Jefferson Barracks, Mo., Dow Field, Me.  Served on New Guinea and Philippines.  Now on duty at Okinawa.  Awarded Good Conduct and Expert Rifleman Medals.

T/Sgt. Bill Baldwin, son of Mr. W.I. Baldwin, attended Nash Schools. Entered the Army in 1940, trained at Ft. Sam Houston and Camp McCoy. Went overseas in 1943 and served in Ireland, England and France. Was wounded in action June 19, and died June 21, 1944 at (?) derson, graduated from Corsicana High School. En(?) St. George D'Elle, France.

S/Sgt. Johnnie E. Baldwin, grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. L. Lane, attended Union High School.  Entered the service in 1942 and trained with the Army Ground Forces at Sheppard Field and Mobile, Ala.  Served in Ireland, France and is now stationed in Germany.
BALDWIN, JAMES E.
Cpl. James E. Baldwin, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jessie E. Baldwin, husband of the former Miss Pauline L. Koehn, attended Richland High School. Entered the Army in Jan., 1943, trained at Ft. Knox, Kentucky. Served in Africa, Sicily, Italy, France, Germany and Tunisia. Was wounded in action in June, 1944 and received the Purple Heart. Also wears a Good Conduct Ribbon. Now on duty in Germany.

S 1/C Charles P. Ballard, son of Mr. R. L. Ballard, husband of the former Miss Mary Beth Douglas, attended Currie Schools.  Entered the Navy in 1944, trained at San Diego and served in South Pacific.  Now in Borneo with 7th Fleet.  Wears Theater Ribbon.

S.Sgt Edgard H. Ballard, son of R. L. Ballard, husband of the former Miss Martha A. Hamilton, attended Richland Schools.  Entered the services in 1937, trained at Ft. Clark, Camp White, Ft. Leonard Wood.  Served in France, Germany and Austria.  Wears ETO Ribbon, Pre-Pearl Harbor Pin, Combat Badge and Campaign Star, and Good Conduct Ribbon.
BALENTINE, RALPH M.
Pvt. Ralph M. Balentine, son of Mrs. J. L. Balentine, husband of the former Miss Lorena Smith, graduated from Purdon High School.  Entered the Marines in March, 1944, trained at San Diego.  Served at Pearl Harbor and Marshall Islands.  Now on Guam.  Has Good Conduct Medal and Theater Ribbon.

1st Lt. H. Noel Ballew, son of Mr. and Mrs Charles A. Ballew, husband of the former Miss Irene Walters, graduated from Frost High School. Entered the service in 1941, trained with RCAF at Toronto, Montreal and Bagotville, Canada. Served in England, France and Germany. Transfered to USAC March 1943, London. Shot down and taken prisoner in 1944. Has Air Medal, 3 Oak Leaf Clusters and Theater Ribbon.
