Sgt. Narben H. Sheets, son of Mrs. John H. and the late John H. Sheets, husband of the former Miss Edna Mae Locker, attended Roane Schools.  Entered service 1942, trained with Air Corps at Camp Browder.  Camp Murphy and Washington, D.C.  Has served in Newfoundland, now on duty at Army Air Force Bombing Range, Avon Park, Fla.  Has American Theater and Good Conduct Ribbons.

Pfc. J. W. Sheffield, son of Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Sheffield of Frost. Husband of the former Miss Dorothy Watts.  Entered the Army in 1944, trained at Ft. McClellan, Alabama, now stationed in Italy.
 
SHELTON, WILLIAM E.
Pvt. William E. Shelton, son of Mrs. O. P. Glasgow, husband of the former Miss Eloise Rose, attended Powell School.  Entered Air Corps Sept 11, 1942, trained at Waco Army Air Field and at the Army Navigation School, San Marcos.  Discharged Jan. 11, 1944.

Cpl. Billy R. Shelton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shelton, Kerens, graduated from Kerens High School.  Entered Army Jan., 1944, trained at Sheppard Field.  Has served in Italy, where now on duty.  Has E.T.O. Ribbon with 2 Battle Stars.
 
SHELTON, JIMMY L.
CM 1/C Jimmy L. Shelton, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Shelton, Kerens, graduate of Kerens High School, attended E.T.S.T.C., Commerce.  Enlisted in Navy. 1942, trained at Bay City, Mich.  Has served in N. Africa, D-Day Invasion on France on Mine Sweeper Osprey, now on duty on Caballero A.P.D.-128.  Has 2 Battle Stars and various Area Ribbons.

SHELTON, OSCAR, JR.
S/Sgt. Oscar Shelton, Jr., son of Mrs. O. S. Shelton.  Trained with Air Corps, 1942, at Waco, Amarillo.  Seattle, Las Vegas, Ardomer.  Has completed 34 Missions over German Occupied Europe with 8th Air Force, took part in first American Daylight Raid on Berlin.  Has Air Medal, 4 Oak Leaf Clusters.  Distinguished Flying Cross, Group Pres.  Citation with 2 Oak Leaf Clusters, 4 Battle Stars.
 
SHEPHERD, SAMUEL T.
Samuel T. Sheppard, son of Mr. and Mrs. W. T. Shepherd, attended Mildred Schools.  Entered service, 1945, trained with Merchant Marines at Avalon, California, now on duty in South Pacific.
 
SHEPPARD, DONALD E.
Pfc. Donald E. Sheppard, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Sheppard, Blooming Grove, graduate of Bakersfield, Calif.  Schools.  Entered service, 1942, trained with 1st Marines at Camp Pendleton, California.  Has served in South Pacific, now on duty at Okinawa.  Has Sharpshooter Medals, Rifle and Bayonet Medals.

Chief Petty Officer, Horace Sheppard, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Sheppard husband of the former Miss Ruth Turner, attended Kerens High School.  Enlisted in the Naval Res., 1942, trained at New Orleans, La., Panama Canal Zone.  Has served in S. Pacific, received Medical Discharged.
 
SHEPPARD, TOY
T/Sgt. Toy Sheppard, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. L. Sheppard, Kerens, Tex., graduate from Kerens High School.  Enlisted Air Corps April 1942, trained at Camp Wolters, Texas, Brookly Field, Ala.  Has served in E.T.O. Campaigns, now on duty in England.  Has two Battle Stars.

Pvt. Thomas E. Sherrard, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. B. Sherrard, husband of the former Miss Era Lois Pool, attended Corsicana Schools.  Entered service 1943, trained with Army at Camp Bowie and Houston Memorial Park.  Honorably discharged, 1944.

Pfc. Cody R. Sherrard, son of Mrs. W. T. Allmon, Dallas, and the late E. B. Sherrard, attended Corsicana Schools.  Trained with Medical Det. of Inf. at Camp Barlkey, Ft. Sam Houston, and Camp Fannin.  Served in Italy, France, Belgium, Germany and is now on duty at Norway.

Sherrill, attended Kerens and Georgetown High Schools.  Entered Army, 1942, trained for Anti-Aircraft Artillery, Camp Stewart, Ga., Camp Forest, Tenn.  Has engaged in ETO Campaigns, now on duty at Huttenburg, Germany.  Awarded Sharpshooter, Good Conduct and ETO Ribbon with 5 Stars, Purple Teart, wounded in Normandy, June, 1944.
 
SHERRILL, MERRILL
Cpl. Merrill, Sherrill, son of H. G. Sherrill, graduated from Kerens High School.  Mobilized with 36th Div., November, 1940, trained at Camp Bowie, Texas.  Camp Edwards, Mass.  Engaged in N. African-ETO Ribbon with 5 Battle Stars, American Def. Ribbon, discharged July 1945.
 
SHIELDS, J. P. "PETE"
Pfc. J. P. "Pete" Shields, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. W. B. Shields, Eureka, graduate of Mildred High School.  Entered service, 1940, trained with 12th Cavalry at Ft. Bliss.  Has served in Australia.  New Guinea, Solomon Islands.  Admiralty Island.  Holds Bronze Star, Silver Star.  Good Conduct, Purple Heart.  Killed in action, 1944.  Los Negros Islands.
