Sgt. James B. Shook, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Shook, husband of the former Miss Ida McCrary, graduated from Corsicana High School.  Entered the Air Corps in 1942, trained at Air Corps Ground School at Camp Wolters, Colorado and Mississippi.  Instructed 19 months.  Now somewhere in Philippines.  Wears Theater Ribbon.

Sgt. Sam g. Sikes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sikes, attended Corsicana High School.  Entered the Army Infantry in 1943, trained at Camp Woltres, Tex.  Served at Hawaii, Okinawa and Marianas.  Now on duty at Okinawa.  Awarded Purple Heart.  Was wounded April 23, on Okinawa.

SILER, VERNON
Pfc. Vernon Siler, son of Mrs. Florence Siler, attended Texarkana High School.  Entered the Army Air Corps in 1942, trained at Sheppard Field.  Now on duty at Tucson, Ariz.

Capt. J. B. Siler, son of Mrs. Florence Siler, husband of the former Miss Mildred Williams, graduated from Mexia High School.  Entered the Army in 1940, trained at Camp Bowie.  Now on duty in the Aleutians.  Has Theater Ribbon.

SILER, BENNIE E.
Lt. Bennie E. Siler, son of Mrs. Florence Siler, husband of the former Miss Sally Tiebel, attended Corsicana High School.  Entered the Air Corps in 1943, trained at Sheppard Field and other states.  Stationed in the Philippines.  His family was awarded the Purple Heart when he was killed on March 28, 1945.

SIMMONS, A. VAN
2nd Lt. A. Van Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Simmons, husband of the former Miss Mary R. Price, graduated from Kerens High School, Weatherford Jr. College and attended U. of Texas.  Entered the Air Corps in 1942 trained at Kelly Field 18 missions Flying Fortress, spent 2 yrs., 12 days in German Prison Camp.  Temporarily unassigned.  Awarded Air Medal with 2 Clusters, 2 battle stars, Purple Heart.  Wounded twice March, 1943, France and Germany.

SF 1/C A. Leon Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Simmons, husband of the former Miss Mary H. Weems, graduated from Kerens High School.  Joined the Navy in 1940, trained at USNTS, San Diego.  Served in England and South America.  Temporarily unassigned.  Wears Theater Ribbons.
 
SIMMONS, JAMES JARREL
Pfc. James Jarrel Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Simmons, husband of the former Miss Christine Grant, attended Kerens High School.  Enlisted in the Air Corps Feb, 1944, trained at Sheppard Field, Tex.  Was in Ft. Sam Houston General Hospital 2 months before receiving medical discharge, August 1944.

Citation.
