SHOOK, JAMES B.
Sgt. James B. Shook, son of Mr. and Mrs. M. D. Shook, husband of the former Miss Ida McCrary, graduated from Corsicana High School.  Entered the Air Corps in 1942, trained at Air Corps Ground School at Camp Wolters, Colorado and Mississippi.  Instructed 19 months.  Now somewhere in Philippines.  Wears Theater Ribbon.
 
SHUE, JAMES T.
S 1/C James T. Shue, son of Mr. and Mrs. John L. Shue, husband of the former Miss Jazzie Mae Karkin, attended Phillips Chapel School.  Entered the service in 1943 and trained with the Navy at San Diego.
 
SIKES, SAM G.
Sgt. Sam g. Sikes, son of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Sikes, attended Corsicana High School.  Entered the Army Infantry in 1943, trained at Camp Woltres, Tex.  Served at Hawaii, Okinawa and Marianas.  Now on duty at Okinawa.  Awarded Purple Heart.  Was wounded April 23, on Okinawa.

Pfc. Vernon Siler, son of Mrs. Florence Siler, attended Texarkana High School.  Entered the Army Air Corps in 1942, trained at Sheppard Field.  Now on duty at Tucson, Ariz.

Capt. J. B. Siler, son of Mrs. Florence Siler, husband of the former Miss Mildred Williams, graduated from Mexia High School.  Entered the Army in 1940, trained at Camp Bowie.  Now on duty in the Aleutians.  Has Theater Ribbon.

SILER, BENNIE E.
Lt. Bennie E. Siler, son of Mrs. Florence Siler, husband of the former Miss Sally Tiebel, attended Corsicana High School.  Entered the Air Corps in 1943, trained at Sheppard Field and other states.  Stationed in the Philippines.  His family was awarded the Purple Heart when he was killed on March 28, 1945.

2nd Lt. A. Van Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Simmons, husband of the former Miss Mary R. Price, graduated from Kerens High School, Weatherford Jr. College and attended U. of Texas.  Entered the Air Corps in 1942 trained at Kelly Field 18 missions Flying Fortress, spent 2 yrs., 12 days in German Prison Camp.  Temporarily unassigned.  Awarded Air Medal with 2 Clusters, 2 battle stars, Purple Heart.  Wounded twice March, 1943, France and Germany.
 
SIMMONS, MARY HELEN
Y 3/C Mary Helen Simmons, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Geo. Weems, husband is SF 1/C A. Leon Simmons, graduated from Sunset High School.  Entered the Navy in 1942, trained at Hunter College, N.Y.  Now on duty at Hensley field, Dallas, Texas.
 
SIMMONS, A. LEON
SF 1/C A. Leon Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Simmons, husband of the former Miss Mary H. Weems, graduated from Kerens High School.  Joined the Navy in 1940, trained at USNTS, San Diego.  Served in England and South America.  Temporarily unassigned.  Wears Theater Ribbons.
 
SIMMONS, JAMES JARREL
Pfc. James Jarrel Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. Jimmie Simmons, husband of the former Miss Christine Grant, attended Kerens High School.  Enlisted in the Air Corps Feb, 1944, trained at Sheppard Field, Tex.  Was in Ft. Sam Houston General Hospital 2 months before receiving medical discharge, August 1944.

Pvt. Arlon G. Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. James W. Simmons.  Wife, the former Laverene Knox.  Attended Kerens High School.  Entered the Army F. A., Feb., 1944, training at Sheppard Field, Tex., Madison, Wis.  Served in Panama.  Now on duty at Camp Hood, Texas.

Major Hal F. Simmons, son of Mrs. J. E. Simmons, Kerens.  Graduated from Kerens High School, Schreiner Ins., Univ. of Texas.  Entered the Army Air Corps in 1941, training at Ryan Field and Moffett Field, California.  Received wings Feb 6, 1942 at Luke Field, Ariz.  Served in North Africa, Italy.  Completed 48 missions, 20 on Blue Streak.  Now on duty at Harvard A.A.F., Neb  Awarded Air Medal, Oak Leaf Clusters, DFC with Oak Leaf Cluster and Pres. Citation.
SIMMONS, TOMMY L.
Pvt. Tommy L. Simmons, son of Mr. and Mrs. G. N. Simmons, Kerens, attended Kerens High School.  Entered the Army Dec, 1944, training at Ft. Sill, Okla.  Now on duty in S. Pacific.

S/Sgt. Claiborn H. Simpson, son of Mrs. John H. Simpson, nephew of Mrs. A. B. Horn.  Wife, the former Mary Castellow.  Graduate of Fayette, Mo. High School and attended Central College, Fayette.  Entered service, 1942, training with the Air Corps. Ground Forces at Blackland, Wavo, Texas where he is now on duty.
SIMPSON, MARION W.
CM 1/C Marion W. Simpson, son of Mrs. J. R. Simpson, Corsicana.  Wife, the former Vivian Bottoms.  Entered the USNR in 1942, training at Camp Endicott and Davisville, R.I.  Served in Aleutians Islands.  Received discharge July 1945.
SIMPSON, GEORGE C.
CM 1/C George C. Simpson, son of Mrs. J. R. Simpson.  Wife, the former Beatrice Webb.  Attended Corsicana High School.  Entered service, 1942, training in the Navy Seabees at Davisville, Rhode Island and Camp Parks, Calif.  Served in Aleutians and Attu, Adak.  Now on duty in South Pacific.
SIMS, ERNEST V.
CM 2/C Ernest V. Sims, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J. B. Sims.  Wife, the former Ima Faye Knowles.  Attended Eureka Schools.  Entered service, 1942, training in the Navy at Norfolk and Davisville, R.I.  Served in Newfoundland.  Discharged, 1944.
