Sgt. James Maurice Carpenter, son of Mamie Benton Carpenter and James Carpenter of Frost.  Entered the service in 1941, training at Camp Wolters, Mineral Wells, Texas, Camp Barkeley, Abilene, Texas, Sheppard Air Force Base, Wichita Falls, Texas, and Camp Kearns, Utah.  Transferred from the Army to 8th Air Force Base Unit at Fort Douglas, Utah.

BILLIE D. CARROLL
Sgt. Billie D. Carroll, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben F. Carroll of Blooming Grove.  Married the former Bertha Ellis of Blooming Grove.  Served in the U.S. Army for 20 years.  Served in Germany twice and in France.  Was with the 709 M.P. in Germany.  Received National  Defense Medal, Victory Medal, American Campaign, Occupation of Germany, National Service Medal, and Meritorious Service for Security.

CURTIS CAVANAUGH
Curtis Cavanaugh, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Louis Cavanaugh of Corsicana.  Served stateside  during the war.  Attended G. W. Jackson High School in Corsicana.

WARREN G. CAVITT
Pvt. Warren G. Cavitt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Mack K. Cavitt of the Antioch Community.  Enlisted in the U.S. Army on October 21, 1942, training at Sacramento, Calif.  Duties carried him to Santa Maria, Orangeburg, N.Y.  Served overseas at Casablanca, Africa and Sicily base invading of Italy.  Husband of Fannie Mae Carroll Cavitt.  Discharged on October 21, 1945.

JOE CEPHUS
Cpl. Joe Cephus, son of Ennis and Elola Cephus of Chatfield.  Attended Chatfield School.  Entered service June 23, 1942, training at Missouri and Miami, Florida.  Went overseas February 9, 1943, landing in Casablanca, Africa.  Served with the 838th Avn. Eng., who build run-ways for planes to land at the front lines.  Attended truck driving school and auto mechanic school.  Also served n Italy, France and Switzerland.

WILLIAM ARTHUR CHILDRESS, JR.
M.M.M. 2nd Class William Arthur Childers, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. William Arthur Childers, Sr. of Frost.  Husband of the former Earline Thiel.  Graduate of Hubbard High School and attended Baylor University.  Enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve April 19, 1944.  Served in Asiatic area.  Awarded the Victory Medal, Purple Heart and Certificate.  Gave his life on Feb. 19, 1945, at Iwo Jima.  Interred on Iwo Jima, later interred at Honolulu, Hawaii. KILLED IN ACTION

CPO  Kenneth E. Chunn, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earle Chunn of Richland.  Married the former Edna Edrosolo Fetzer of Honolulu.  Served on the Fleet Submarine, Sub-Ron-One Pacific and served in San Diego, Pearl Harbor, Guam, Mauai, Guadalcanal, North Island.  Received Asiatic Pacific Campaign with 2 Stars, American Theater, EAME Campaign, Philippine Liberation, Victory Medal, Navy Commendation, U.N. Service Medal, National Defense Medal, Navy Good Conduct with 4 Bronze Stars., Humanitarian Medal.  Served 23 years.

ARTHUR B. CLARK
Pfc. Arthur B. Clark, son of Mr. and Mrs. Lester Clark of Dresden.  Graduate of Blooming Grove High School.  Married the former Bonnie Mae Gorham.  Served with the 787th M.P. in Paris, France.

2nd Lt. Neil Davidson Clark, son of Nash Gilbert and Janie McGilvery Clark of Dawson.  Husband of Jane Garner Clark.  Attended Dawson High School, Trinity  University and University of Houston.  Joined the U.S. Air Force on January 7, 1942, served as a Glider Pilot.  Served in Cherboroug, Southern France, Holland, Germany. Awarded the Air Medal with 3 Oak Leaf Clusters, Unit Badge Citation, EAME Theater Ribbon with 7 Campaign Stars and the Bronze Arrowhead.  Discharged on January 3, 1946.

William Clarkson III, son of Mr. and Mrs. William Clarkson, Jr. Married to Mary Clarkson.  Graduate of Corsicana High School, Texas A&M.  Attended Univ. of Texas Medical School.  Entered service April 1942, training at N.C., Miami, Fla., Wash. and Maryland.  Served in Australia, Solomon Islands, Florida Islands and Okinawa.  Received Commendation Ribbon, Unit Commendation, Asiatic-Pacific with 2 Stars, Navy Occupation Service Medals and China Service Medal.

WARREN G. CLARKSTON
T/5 Warren G. Clarkston, son of Mr. and Mrs. R. E. Clarkston of Roane.  Married to the former Dorothy Barham of Blooming Grove.  Served in the U.S. Army with the 36th Division.  Stationed at Brownwood, Texas, Florida, and Mass before serving overseas in North Africa and Italy.  After returning to the States in 1943, he was stationed at Fort Bragg, N.C. for the duration of the war.

CLARENCE L. COLEMAN
Cpl. Clarence L. Coleman, son of Dr. Will and Mattie Bell Coleman of Corsicana.  A 1932 Graduate of G.W. Jackson High School in Corsicana, entered the U.S. Army in 1941.  Serving in the South Pacific on the Fiji Islands with the Coast Guard when he was killed in 1943.  He was the first black soldier of Corsicana to get killed in the War.  KILLED IN ACTION
